visited this restaurant with a friend, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. Our server was a middle-aged man with slightly gray hair. We ordered both appetizers and main courses at the same time, but specifically asked for the appetizers to be served first. Instead, everything arrived at once. Later, we asked for some red pepper, and he brought it to our table. After that, however, whenever we tried to get his attention, he avoided coming to our table. Instead, he told another staff member who was clearing tables to help us, and eventually he sent a different female server to take care of us. As two Asian women who are not fluent in English, we couldn't help but feel that we were being treated differently. Whether it was intentional or not, it made us feel uncomfortable, ignored, and unwelcome. What should have been a nice weekend meal turned into a very unpleasant experience because of one server's attitude. We left feeling upset, and honestly, it didn't feel like he deserved the tip. The food itself was fine, but the service completely ruined our experience. If you decide to visit this restaurant, I hope you have better luck with your server than we did.

Came here to get a drink before my meal. The cocktails were made deliciously and strong! The bar tender was really nice as well and gave great service. This is a great laid back option for a quick drink before a main meal.

Dog friendly in case you were wondering. Came here for dinner with a friend. Always passed by but never tried. Food was good. A bit pricey but the atmosphere is nice! We were wondering if the menu is the same as amici! I've had better tiramisu but it was still okay. Small for $12

Blink and you'll miss it, Ombra has been my wife's and I go-to for pasta and gin spot when we're spending an afternoon at The Americana. Even before Din Tai Fung moved inside The Galleria, we've always enjoyed our shopping break at this stylish patio, serving Italian dishes and cocktails as if while we're on holiday. Y'all- today was a day! It's a sunny Saturday on International Women's Day and Ombra was visibly busy and short staffed. A longer than typical wait to be seated, they still did their best ensuring my wife and I along with everyone else had a great dining experience. Shout out to our server (and I believe manager too) Scott, for going above and beyond for us today. He was multi-tasking while maintaining operations and providing customer service. I hope the day turned around for him and his team. We always pick dining outside when given the opportunity especially on a beautiful weekend afternoon here in LA. Ombra is that dining option when you happen to be at The Americana either on a random day, on a day-date, or meet with a friend for "a drink" day. Check them out!

Let me paint you a picture. Glendale, CA at the Americana at Brand. Weather sitting at a low 70 degree weather and the sun shining in the sky. It screams patio weather. I couldn't help but sit outside and bask in glory of this glorious afternoon. Ombra is located right in the middle of the Americana and its outdoor patio seating was exactly the vibe for today. As Ombra is a wine bar, I started my meal off with a Pinot Noir. Delicate and a bit tart, a great way to prepare for my meal. For an appetizer, I ordered the Minestrone. The soup was a great starter, light and warm, the lentils and vegetables were perfect and the soup itself was warm and embracing. Lastly, for the main course, the Rigatoni Alla Norcina. The pasta was cooked perfectly , but the parmesan cream sauce and truffle oil really put this dish over the top. I added a bit of red chili flakes as well which added a bit of kick. Credit to the staff as they also treated me with such warmth and paid attention to every detail. So now the negative. I would consider Ombra a bit of a fishbowl, as it is in the middle of the Americana, it can't be helped however, as it is open air as well, you can't help feel like you are in a bit of fishbowl. I would recommend this for light gatherings and hangouts, but not for a serious date night. Other than that, I really enjoyed dinning here and look forward to the next time.

Had a really great dinner at Ombra the other day. Everything was 10/10 - food and wine, speed of service, the atmosphere. I asked for the spinach ravioli with their pesto sauce instead of marinara and it was delicious!

The restaurant has beautiful ambiance with their outdoor seating. I was able to people watch at the Americana, which was great! My pasta was cooked beautifully and the sauce was packed with so much authentic flavor. I was so so happy with it. My mom's drink was really good too. I'd definitely come back to this place for pasta.

Food - good Italian food. Complementary bread came out first. I ordered the Rigatoni alla Norcina at $18.95. It comes with Italian crumbled sausage and mushrooms in a cream sauce and drizzled with truffle oil. Rich in taste and they serve it sparingly. Twas delish and priced right in my opinion. You can taste the truffle oil and the mushrooms. I had leftovers and I reheated it in the microwave and had it for lunch another day. Also ordered the latte and that was ok. Food seems dynamite and worth a return trip in the future since I am about 1.5 hours away so whenever that would be next, I will excitingly await! I want to try so much more! Service - it was good, fast and knowledgable. Dining - it was a cold night but they had the outdoor heaters going so it was great! The experience of alfresco dining in the middle of the Americana at the Brand was spectacular. Verdict - definitely worth trying and going back for seconds and repeat business in my opinion. Great food, good ambiance, and service was good. We enjoyed it and would deserve another visit someday soon.

Great ambiance great service. It's a beautiful outdoor dining area with a nice bar in the corner. The bartenders make delicious drinks. I always get the Spritz. It's build your own. First you pick the base, then the sparkling drink and then the toppings. I got a Campari spritz with sparkling yuzu and added strawberry and basil. Served over ice. Cold and delicious on a hot summer day. Sitting outdoors and enjoying the water fountain show and the music. Really a great ambiance. My husband and I shared a Caesar salad and a pizza. Both delicious and filling and just the perfect portion for lunch. We had an amazing lunch break.

They both came in a timely manner and were filling. My chicken was nice and tender and had a good amount of flavor. We also really liked their beer selection. The bartenders definitely make well balanced, delicious concoctions. And then our food came: Mmm! So many vibrant flavors! Fresh, popping zings of ginger and garlic on the noods, delectable brisket with brightness from the red onion and cilantro wrapped in a comfort blanket of bao, break a sweet sweat from chilis on the spicy tofu noodles, green, bright, and lip smacking umami on the brussels, and bbq perfection on the meat. This spot opened about a year ago, and has a cool speakeasy style entrance at the Highland Park Bowl bowling alley. It is a small space, and I would highly recommend making a reservation on Resy. You have 90 minutes to drink and dine. I parked behind the bowling alley where there is a medium sized pay parking lot. Park in a space, remember your space number painted on the ground, and go to the pay station at the end of the lot. I found the parking machine to be extremely finicky as did other people. After ten minutes of failure, I ended up moving my car to another space, and then it worked. This has nothing to do with the Lucky Tiki, but FYI if you park there. We walked around to the front of the bowling alley, and checked in. Seating options include at the bar, tiki hut booths, and high top tables. The décor inside is a tiki lovers paradise. The room has a high ceiling with many tiki lamps, floats, puffer fish, tiki huts, thatch, ropes, barrels, netting, carvings, a hanging canoe, and a large tiki right in the middle of the space. In addition to the great décor, when you order certain drinks, special effects are triggered. There was also great tiki music playing all evening. We sat at the bar since we always enjoy talking to the bartenders. We actually ran into Skipper Christian in the parking lot on the way in, and he ended up being our main bartender, with Nick and Jo also working behind the bar. We put in a food order right away. The chicken potstickers ($12) came with five tasty bites, and the garlic teriyaki dipping sauce was good. We also had the giant pretzel ($16) which comes with mustard, beer cheese, and ranch sauces. This was excellent, and the perfect filling snack before a bunch of drinks. My first drink was the Siren's Song (Flor de Cana Eco rum, lemon juice, cassis, Oloroso sherry, apricot foam topper, $19). This drink is served in a great mermaid with skull mug and triggers special sound effects and bubbles fill the air. Those bubbles on top of the drink had a great light citrusy apricot flavor, probably the best flavored bubbles I've ever had. The drink itself was very good and balanced with some complexity. She wasn't sure what to order at first, and Christian asked her what flavors she liked. He ended up making a spin on a Tradewinds with some mango and pineapple to go along with the apricot and coconut. It was nicely balanced and not too sweet, even with all that fruit in there. My second drink was the Sun of Suns (Tierra de Acre mezcal, coconut cream, Giffard mango liqueur, pineapple juice, lime juice, $17). This was coconut and pineapple forward with some good smokiness in the background. Her second drink was the Whatever Floats Your Boat (Ford's gin, lemon juice, velvet falernum, orgeat, passion fruit syrup, guava soda, topped with hazelnut passion fruit foam, $19). It is served in a cool boat mug, and triggers thunder sound effects and lighted mechanical Polynesian tiki characters paddling a canoe over the bar. This was another good balanced drink. It was a little gin forward and the passion fruit popped out, maybe from being both in the drink and the foam top. That creamy hazelnut passion fruit form on top is delicious. I'd happily have a glass of that on its own. We were still a little hungry so we ordered the Hawaiian pizza (marinara, diced pepperoni, red onion, pineapple chunks, hot capicola ham, $16). It was another good tasting, perfectly sized snack, and the crust was light and airy. We were already fifteen minutes over our time limit, but we got the green light to stay longer to order a third drink to share. We ordered the Tiki Diablo (Flor de Cana Eco rum, Worthy Park 109 rum, Alma Tepecha chile liqueur, orange juice, lime juice, mango syrup, guava soda, $24). This drink serves two people, is served in a cool volcano bowl with glowing red lava around it, and comes with a fire show. Unfortunately, right after it was served, the host came over and said we were over our time and had to leave shortly. Christian made up for it by giving us two tall pours to go enjoy in the bowling alley bar area which was fine. We were happy we got some extra time inside. The drink was also very good, balanced with a little complexity. We had a great time. There is so much great décor to look at. The drinks and food were very good, and some of the the drink presentations and special effects were the icing on the cake. All of the bartenders were very friendly and a lot of fun. We purchased up a few zombie glasses to take home as a souvenir. I'd definitely recommend visiting the Lucky Tiki in Highland Park!

We were told seating was first come, first served, so when a table opened up outside, our group of five sat down while part of our group went inside to order. Shortly after ordering multiple drinks and several plates of food, another staff member came to our table and began yelling at us, threatening to kick us out for being "rude" to staff, even though we had done nothing but order our food and drinks. What made it even more uncomfortable was watching other guests openly smoking weed while staff said nothing, yet our group felt watched, accused, and singled out the entire time. As the only Latino group sitting outside, the experience left us feeling unwelcome, uncomfortable, and discriminated against. As a fellow restaurant owner, I understand hospitality and house policies, which is why this treatment was especially disappointing. To top it all off, they offer an incredible selection of desserts that are just as unforgettable as the rest of the menu. Every aspect of the experience is consistently outstanding and leaves you looking forward to your next visit. Their whiskey selections are amazing.
