Admittedly, I have never actually been to this restaurant BUT I have ordered delivery on multiple occasions and the food is outstanding. First of all, a Mediterranean place that delivers?! Hell yes. Ordered delivery to the Hotel Renaissance near the airport--EXCELLENT service and food! And prices are great. The woman who took my order was SO nice and accommodating with my gluten- and dairy-free requests, and the order arrived just as she had promised, with dairy free dressing and cucumber slices instead of pita. The wait was exactly as she had promised: 45 minutes, the delivery guy was really sweet. As for the food--the chicken on my Omar salad was perfectly cooked, and the lemon-olive oil dressing absolutely delicious. All the veggies were fresh and crisp, the chicken still hot. We've been coming here since they opened and it's one of my favorites for a solid meal. The pizzas are fantastic, they have a lot of different toppings you won't find elsewhere like their shwarma meat and beef sausage or pepperoni. There's no pork items here. When we're not in a pizza mood, the kabobs and shwarma are our go to's. The chicken royale is pretty darn good too. I've not had the same luck with their Italian choices, so stick to where they excel. We have had just about every app they have, they're all great. Just a few weeks ago, we stopped in for breakfast for the first time. Oh my yum! I had the fluffiest pancakes ever and my husband had an omelet that knocked his socks off. And the coffee was GOOD! OK so this place is small but they have their stuff together. Reasonable prices, good portions and above average food. Omar is Muslim so no pork. No problem. The pasta and Mediterranean dishes are very tasty and I usually order a pizza to take home regardless of what I order to eat there. I ate here for the first time today - ordered it for delivery! The delivery took awhile, but not so long that I would ding them for it. About 50 minutes. Since it was my first time and I had no menu, I relied upon the woman who took my order. I had the Gyro and I also ordered a Chicken Schwarma on recommendation of the woman on the phone. She was very helpful and patient with me. The sauce on each of them made the dining experience what it was. So GOOD! It was REALLY good. Both of them. This place is great! The best Mediterranean food including pizza, pasta, gyros in the st. Louis area. We have never been disappointed in anything we have ordered. They did expand their menu to include chicken fingers and wings and such. They have two different menus to offer. They have done a great job keeping the quality of the original owner's cuizine while updating the menu to bring in a wider base of customers. The prices are incredibly reasonable. $7 for a big gyro fries and a drink. The deep dish pizza is to die for!! read more

Passing through St. Louis looking for some middle eastern food and picked Omars Grill more or less by chance. What a lucky chance! I thought the kofta was delicious until I started on the shawarma: it was even *more* delicious. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. Succulent and bursting with flavor. The rice was also very tasty and an excellent complement to the meat. Normally I dislike falafel, but for some reason I ordered some and on seeing the dark brown fried exterior I thought, "yeah, more bad falafel," but I was wrong -- it was crispy on the outside but the inside was soft and green with perfect contrast between the two. The pita bread was very soft and tasty and the humus was delectable as well. The service was good and friendly, the tables clean, and so on. But the food is what makes a restaurant, and Omar's has that in spades. read more

Omar's used to be my favorite restaurant on the Rock Road, but it has since gone seriously downhill. We gave it one more chance today and I think the food has finally turned me off for good. I usually order the Chicken Shawarma. Normally it comes perfectly cooked on a fluffy pita with house made sauce. Today they served it on a small flour tortilla that fell apart in my hand. Yet my husband, who ordered a gyro was served a pita. My son refused to eat his pizza because he said it tasted bad. I tried a piece to see what he was talking about and the tomato sauce tasted fermented and sour like it was way past its expiration date. The bottom of the crust was completely burnt and charred. I'm so disappointed! What used to be my favorite place transformed into a restaurant I will never eat at again. read more

This is one of the best mediterranean restaurant in the area. We have been dining here for the past 2 years and the food never dissapoints us. They are always consistent about their food. Dinner: My bf & I finally decided to give Omar's a try & so glad we did. Started dinner off with the appetizer, mushrooms parmesan. Omg, devine...breaded mushrooms sit on a zesty red sauce, smothered on top, mozzarella so stringy and cheesy, fresh chopped parsley. My Pasta Con Pesci had fresh ground pepper in a creamy 3 cheese sauce with Rigatoni, mushrooms, shrimp and crab seasoned with just right amount of kick. He got the Rib eye with baked potato and the steak was cooked perfectly with a great choice of fresh vegetables including seasoned and sauteed onions, carrots, zucchini, broccoli and cauliflower. Topped the night off with a piece of Cheesecake (was a little bit too frozen) and brownie cheesecake both had chocolate drizzle and a cherry on top. Delicious and job well done. Service: Waitress was scarce immediately after we ordered our food and the appetizer was delivered after our dinner was served, but despite all that, I still felt I won over by the obvious TLC put into preparation and cooking after enjoying this wonderful meal. We will definitely be coming here again, if you're looking for a wonderfully prepared meal for a decent price, you'll find this jewel on the middle of St Charles Rock Rd in St Ann, right next to Quick Trip & directly across from Acapulco Lounge & Imo's pizza. I had tried this place once before and it was just ok. I'm a big fan of Greek and Mediterranean and have had all of what I consider the best in St. Louis. Olympia, gyro house, Ari's, and so on. But this place will never ever gain any sort of prestige in the restaurant business if they don't get their act together. Surrounded by urban wasteland, Omar's is a shining star in an otherwise depressing area. We came on a quiet Monday afternoon and the place was empty, save for our group. There is very limited seating, so you should consider calling ahead if you're in a group of 6 or more. Our server was very friendly, informative, and attentive. Some in the group were new to this style of food, and she was very thorough in answering any questions. If nothing else, you need to come here for the brain-melting rolls they serve you when you arrive. I am dying for their recipe - I'm almost certain one of the ingredients is unicorn tears or some such. They are served hot and the insides are perfectly fluffy and especially delicious with butter. I could've stopped after the rolls and been perfectly happy, but I digress. We ordered the baba ghanouj and falafel to start. The baba ghanouj came with pita triangles and was somewhat lacking in flavor. I didn't seem to get any kind of prominent eggplant taste, but it was still entirely edible. Conversely, the falafel stole the show. They were crispy, moist, and flavorful - those who had never had it before were raving about it even at the end of the meal. The garlic sauce has a bit of a horseradish-y bite to it, but really adds a zip to the falafel. I'm sure they're just as delicious in the falafel sandwich they offer on the menu. For my main dish, I chose the chicken shawarma, and my only regret was eating too much of the appetizers to finish it. It comes wrapped in paper, and includes chicken, onions, greens, tomatoes, cornichons, and a creamy sauce. Each bite was warm and perfect - the bread was soft and the ingredients melded perfectly together. I'm not normally a fan of pickles in general, but the cornichon somehow wove some kind of devil magic and tied everything together just right. For dessert, I am certain that their baklava ought to be illegal. If you're like me and you just don't get why people rave so much about baklava, it's because you probably haven't had *good* baklava. It's like this stuff descended straight from heaven as a gift to all of mankind - flaky, warm, sweet, and delicious. Can I make it into a religion and convert? Overall, the food and service were outstanding and I'll definitely be back when I'm in the St Louis area again. The restaurant isn't much to look at in a glance, but you don't need to concern yourself with the interior design when you're busy shoveling layers of honey-covered phyllo dough in your grateful mouth. read more

My husband and I had this restaurant recommended to us by a family member. Tonight we decided to try them. I will not be recommending them to anyone EVER! 1st: The menu says Chicago style deep dish pizza, it is only offered in medium, it says heavy on the toppings(all toppings are extra, almost $3), the pizza is very small. Maybe the size of a Pizza Hut personal pan. The toppings were very sparse, barely any sauce. Husband threw it out after a few bites and made a sandwich. 2nd: I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak, no peppers. What I got was a bun with I'm assuming had to be steak, lettuce(IKR?), globbed up melted cheese, 3 slivers of raw red onion(definitely not sauteed!). I got about a quarter of the way through when a sauce started to ooze out and it had a distinct flavor of mustard. There were so many things wrong with this sandwich that I don't even want anything to eat anymore. The fries that came with the sandwich were about the only thing that were decent. 3rd: I also ordered fried mushrooms. You can tell they were dumped out of a box and put straight into a fryer. There was absolutely nothing special about them. I ate 3, which might have been too many, before they started tasting off. I stopped eating them immediately. When first opened service was awesome owners where always there keeping on top of things , Then it slowly started to go down hill, last time I was there walked in set at the counter waited to order. 5 mins I was told someone will be right with me 10 mins later someone starts to take my order then stops and tells me she will be right back she had to attend to her costumer. Have been here several times. Always a good meal. Have had the swarma, the falafel and the gyro. They are all good. I wouldn't say stand out but good, but fresh and tasty. We were staying in a hotel by the airport and ordered through EatStreet app. Order was 100% correct and hot when delivered...the delivery time was not bad at all. I had the shawarma sandwich with fries. My husband had the Omar burger which is topped with gyro meat. Both were awesome though I'm partial to the pita bread. Like a pillow. We also had falafel which was pretty good. I have never been to their location, but I certainly recommend them for delivery!! read more
