Grabbed lunch with a friend at one of my favorite places. It is tucked away in a strip mall off Saint Charles Rockroad. Started with the hummus (the best ever), I chose the Ghormeh Sabzi and my friend went for the Gheymeh eggplant. While waiting for our food we were treated to a new item they are considering putting on the menu, yellow carrot juice. We both gave it a thumbs up and received some great antioxidants for the endeavor. We said that if it doesn't make the menu, we want the option to order it in the future. Ended the meal with baklava for myself and my friend went with Turkish coffee. It was a great afternoon to catch up, relax, and enjoy some downtime in a very busy season. Great owner, chef, and waiter who takes care of his customers.

My daughter and I wanted to eat dinner in our community. We spotted Esther's Persian Cafe in a strip mall. We decided to give it a try. What a wonderful find. We were the only diners at the time. My daughter had pan seared salmon and rice plate. I had a filet mignon kebab with rice and a roasted tomato. We had hummus and pita for an appetizer. We were serviced by the owner who was very kind. The restaurant has been around for about 5 years. All of the food was nice and fresh. The hummus and warm pita was great. The wonderfully seasoned steak was nice and tender. The salmon was flaky and nicely seared. We finished off with a nice piece of baklava. It was slightly sweet and had the nice touch of honey and pistachios. Please support your neighborhood small businesses. We had a great dining experience!

Came here for dinner Sunday night. Nice and cozy restaurant! It was not a busy night so we had the whole place to ourselves! The owner is very friendly and helpful with any menu questions. He said they opened right before COVID in 2020! The humus and warm pita was a DELICIOUS combo. I ordered the salmon that comes with rice and a roasted tomato. Everything was made fresh to order and piping hot when we got it! Delicious flavors and very filling meal. To finish off our meal we got an order of baklava (homemade). Another must try! Support small business and give Esther's a try next time you are looking for a new place to eat!

"If I could give it a 20 out 10 I would. The service, the comfort, the flavors, all blended for an unforgettable experience." That's my wife's review of this place. She isn't on Yelp and I don't prefer this type of food, respectfully. It was clean, everything looked delicious, and my wife was thoroughly satisfied. All wins for me! I sat down with her after shopping in another store in the plaza and the gentleman at the counter was very attentive. She requested a sauce (I forget the name it had cucumber in it) and after a short wait he apologized for the delay because he had to whip up a fresh batch because they were out. That's the service you want. Without hesitation we will be back, and maybe I'll even try something next time!

The continued search for Mediterranean food in STL brings us to Esther's Persian Cafe (EPC). Located in Bridgeton, MO Esther's is a solid restaurant. So solid it worth a rating of 5. A short 15 minute drive from St. Louis International Airport, Ester's is the traditional mom and pop establishment anyone can find a great meal At a reasonable price. Menu has all the classic dishes you expect to see (Kabob, Soulvaki, etc.). As well as delicious salads. Wife ordered the chicken kabob with rice and I went with the beef kabob with rice. Both dishes were perfectly seasoned and rice was moist and complimented the kabobs. We ordered a Persian salad (Diced tomatoes, cucumbers, onion and lime juice), and absolutely delicious. What meal would be without hummus and pita bread? Esther's served is nice portion of Hummus with fresh pita bread. Esther's has plenty of seating and can reserve tables for intimate parties. Restaurant was very clean and tables were serviced quickly. Everyone should try Esther's for lunch or dinner. Again very reasonable prices and solid service. This is our new go to. We'll be back soon!

Love this cafe! Every time we come we always say that we don't come enough. Food and service is always outstanding. The gentleman who runs the place does the service and the cooking and is always as nice as can be. Their humus and pita bread is to die for. This time we also tried the cucumber yogurt dip and it was full of flavor. We got the Koobideh kabobs and the filet kabobs, we shared so we could have some of both. They come with rice and a grilled tomato. Everything is flavorful and tender!

First time at Esther's though I've been meaning to try it for years. We started with the hummus and Turkish coffee. The hummus was one of the best we've had and we loved the extra oil drizzle. They provided a lot pita and it would be great to get a bigger serving of the hummus but we enjoyed the rest of the pita and olive oil. The pita was cooked perfectly- a little crispy and soft inside. The Turkish coffee was on the sweet side but robust. We asked about the cucumber yogurt dip. It features mint and one of our friends didn't eat mint and the owner who waited on us and cooked the food to order offered to make it without mint. It was very refreshing and also served with pita bread. For our entrees we ordered the lamb shank, chicken kabobs, beef koobideh and chicken kabob combo and eggplant beef stew. We all really enjoyed our dishes and they were nice size portions for the money. The chicken was juicy with lots of sumac spices and the stew was very flavorful. The koobideh was a bit dry but had lots of flavor. The lamb was fall off the bone tender. All entrees were served with the fluffiest basmati rice and a grilled tomato. There wasn't a side vegetable that would have been nice to add. This place was very quaint but no frills. We will be back.

Our experience this evening was seriously different from the other reviews. I was quite shocked. Maybe this place is under new ownership. We are from out of town but I see that some other reviewers are, too. But we paid a LOT of money for a very sub-par meal tonight. I felt very cheated to pay so much for what we got. My friend is Persian and he said it was the worst Persian food he had ever had. There was a single man running the whole place by himself on a Saturday night. It was a little early so I assumed that was why we were the only ones in the place. My friend ordered the Ghormeh Sabzi and I ordered the Salmon. I thought mine was a kabob because it was listed in the kabob section of the menu. At the top, it says all meals come with broiled tomato and rice which is a very typical Persian meal. The man came back and said he was out of the Guormeh Sabzi so my friend also ordered the salmon kabob. We also ordered Shiraz Salad and Maast khiar. There was no sabzi and bread put out at the beginning of the meal. It was an item you could buy on the old menu but he said he had taken it off because of the pandemic. There were several things like this that there was an excuse made for. The salad was okay but not fresh and no parsley or any spices, just lemon juice. The Maast Khiar was a strange texture and had grated cucumber in it. It just wasn't very good. But the salmon dish was the biggest disappointment. First, it was not a kabob, it was just a medium/small piece of fish. There was no broiled tomato, no saffron drizzled on the rice and the rice was soggy and not very tasty. And this cost $19 a plate! The meal cost $58 plus tip and it was really not good! I do not recommend this place at all.

Cook, server and busser...same gentleman and he did well juggling it all! My fiancé and my first time eating Persian food and it was as a great first experience! Bread and hummus was so yummy I asked for seconds. The kabobs were well seasoned and were crispy with a juicy center. We'll be back.

Amazing food! The owner is wonderful and you know that your money is going to him to support his family and dreams. Everything we ate there was delightful but the Persian salad and the hummus were sublime. I went in July and the salad had ripe tomatoes and crisp cucumbers with a light dressing. I wanted to buy a gallon and eat it for days. The hummus was smooth and creamy with olive oil and fresh baked pita bread. The salmon was light and allowed the flavor of the fish to shine and the beryan had hints of cinnamon.

Delicious food and the owner/cook is delightful! I'm so glad to have stumbled upon this gem of a cafe!

Amazing food. Tastes like mom made it. Even my son said it tastes like grandma made the food.
