Be warned OS no longer ships with dry ice. I didn't see the message that my order arrived at 8:30 pm but not a big deal with the cooler and dry ice, right? nope. My order sat on my doorstep all night in a paper bag. It's June in NJ not February. Everything was in a state of partial to full defrost. I'm a vegetarian and these items were for summer entertaining. Whole order shot. Fortunately OS is replacing the order but I will need to be sure there is someone on alert on the day its due to be delivered otherwise it will sit in a bag on my step yet again. While I never liked the big bulky styrofoam coolers, there should be a better alternative. Penn State Creamery gives you dry ice for a cooler bag that keeps the ice cream hard for many hours. OS needs to do something to better keep shipments. How many people receive orders when they are out for the day? Sadly this may be my last order with OS. read more

So looking forward to some favorite dishes, especially stuffed sole but awful delivery problem arose, as delivery service was Roadie, where delivery person spoke no English & couldn't understand my telling him how to get into our gated community. Local store staff was amazing in trying to rectify situation next day but too late for my interest. In December Omaha Steak was terrible. I sent 14 orders to clients. 6 never got sent. the 8 orders that were sent. No one knew who they were from..poor labeling. 2ndly the new shipping with cardboard box is terrible. Cardboard can not with stand shipping that Styrofoam can. Some clients received their product in water and thawed meat, others had holes in the cardboard. TAKE A WAY....Omaha Steaks are trying save money by cheaper shipping methods. This did not work. So they are throwing away their brand..for cheaper boxing and poor labeling. Plus hold times in December were terrible.......not bad but terrible...I would fire the people in charge that made these decisions... read more

I have been ordering from Omaha steaks for over 20 years. They switched to these idiotic cardboard shipping boxes and my burgers and steaks were almost completely thawed- blood in packages. Dry ice was completely melted- I live in Florida- hot climate. I won't risk another order. Quality has gone down a bit and customer service is terrible. The phone lines are overloaded and the AI bot is useless. Their competition in the state south of them still uses Styrofoam boxes and frankly the steaks are richer in flavor (really aged 30 + days ). Judging from other reviews this great American company is not looking good for the future. I'm really sorry to go, but I work too hard for my money. read more

Our house burned down on the 1st of January. We had over 300.00 worth of Omaha steak products. Ready to go on a vacation on the 2nd. My in-laws always sends this as gift to us for special occasions like birthdays, Christmas, etc. and I'm digging it. Frozen box of treats delivered to me, a foodie, yes please. It was founded in 1917 in, you guessed, Omaha, Nebraska. They distribute, market, and manufacture chicken, pork, steak, seafood, sides, appetizers, and desserts. I've never been to the brick and mortar; I've only had the shipments delivered to me. I've also sent it as a gift to others. I've had the classic dinner pack multiple times now: 4 (5 oz.) Butcher's Cut Filet Mignons 4 (4.5 oz.) Chicken Fried Steaks 4 (6 oz.) Boneless Pork Chops 4 (6 oz.) Omaha Steaks Burgers 4 (2.88 oz.) Potatoes au Gratin 4 (4 oz.) Caramel Apple Tartlets 1 (3 oz.) Omaha Steaks Seasoning Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Of course you have to thaw it first then we usually put it on the grill. The potatoes au gratin was actually very good too. Overall, I enjoyed it and I think it's a good gift idea for those people that love to eat. read more

As with others, if I could give this -100 rating I would. Ordered three different orders to arrive before Christmas for friends and family. Only one of the orders showed up and it had no ice and was mushy. I reached out via the website. Never heard back. The rest of the order arrived on the 29th, well after all our family and friends had left. Again, no ice, nothing frozen and the box stinks. I've now been on hold for over two hours with no end in site. They ruined Christmas and their customer service is horrific. Still have not heard back from my initial contact on the 24th and still can't get through to anyone on the phone. I will never spend another penny with this company. They should be embarrassed they are even in business. The estimated wait time of 190 minutes tells me that they completely screwed a lot of people's Christmases. See pictures, no ice at all for a double order, not even a bag where dry ice should've been and mushy inedible chicken. I'm away from home at the holidays and thought my husband would enjoy a gift from Omaha Steaks. Well, we'll apparently never know. We're two days beyond delivery window, the package wasn't even shipped until after the original delivery date and its been sitting 20 miles away somewhere. I mean, is this stuff gong to be safe to eat if it ever shows up? I contacted customer service, by email form as I could not find a phone number and the chat is nothing but a bot, but to date, no response from Omaha Steaks - they're going to place the blame on UPS anyway. I am deeply disappointed in the customer service; to my knowledge, only one notification, that with the original delivery date, was pushed to me and Ive had to track the package multiple times per day since. I recently joined the rewards program for $39.95 after placing multiple orders. However, I discovered it auto-renews, which is an untrustworthy practice as companies often don't provide advance notice before charging your credit card. I emailed Omaha Steaks but received no response. Their website's "chat" feature directed me to a bot, which promised a human customer service representative within 30 minutes. The human rep eventually appeared, re-prompting me for my request, which I retyped. Then, the chat abruptly ended, though I hadn't initiated the closure. The human rep even asked if I was still there, but I couldn't respond. This seems deliberate. I called the Omaha Steaks number, and after being told the wait time was long, I requested a call back within an hour. They called an hour later and inquired as to WHY I was cancelling. This blatant attempt to block customers from cancelling the reward subscription is unethical and abusive. Also, the quality of their meat products has gone down along with the size of the cuts. We ordered Omaha Steaks for the first time last month. The quality was fair for the price however we are used to buying USDA Prime steaks from Costco. Costco far exceeded the quality. Side by side tasting was more than significant. Secondly, the marketing for this company. When you call to order, the pressure to upgrade and add to your order is outrageous. Even the if you order $150 worth, shipping is not free. We have ordered from other meat companies and have been able to get free shipping for that purchase price. Let's talk about getting the discount by signing up for email and text. Ok, so I did. I get an average of 2 text messages per day and one email per day. Today was the straw that broke the camels back. In addition to the text message I received at 1:48 AM, I received an email entitled: LATE PAYMENT NOTIFICATION. I've only placed one order which I paid for and received last month. How could I have a late payment? Well, turns out it was click bait. I unsubscribed from everything, called and gave them feedback and will NEVER order from them EVER again. Unethical! read more

It looks, from the comments on this site, that I was duped like everyone else. I have placed over $500 in simple gift card orders in November and early December. Arrival status were12/15 and 12/22. Nothing. Originally my first order was to arrive 12/9. I spoke with a representative who told me there wasn't a tracking number for this order. So, that order was voided and another placed. Nothing. I can't imagine what it would be like to order product. This is the worst service I have ever experienced, yet I receive at leeast one marketing message a day since my intial order in November. Mislead by webpage "promising" delivery by Christmas for a 12/19 order, but moments later after confirmation of payment, delivery schedule for 12/27. Customer Service offered a $30 credit on future orders; I obtained a $30 refund after seeking a supervisor's disposition. Product delivered 12/30 [three days late] at ambient temperature; product discarded. Customer Service agreed to refund the total price after three attempts, reconciling only the monetary aspects of the transaction, not addressing the expectations of my daughter (1) receiving a gift and (2) enjoying the product. I would have expected Omaha Steaks to graciously ship another order to my daughter with an apology. As for product quality and value, I will NEVER KNOW. read more

we ordered a primer steak box from the online site. we defrosted 2 steaks in the refrigerator over night and over the next day. when I opened the sealed pouch the meat smelt awful, had a brown discoloration and was thick with a slimy sludge. A word warning before you order from Omaha Steaks. You may or may not get the correct foods with your order. My mom witnessed this when she ordered our Thanksgiving turkey last week and when my mom received our turkey from Omaha Steaks although the turkey was correct she received tenderloin steaks instead of the filet mignon she was supposed to get and not only that our order was missing seasoning and the chicken tenders were missing and hamburgers were also missing as well. It seems that Omaha Steaks is trying to bait and switch it's customers by giving them alternate items instead of what they actually order. 12/19/24, After I mistakenly bought my local Safeways nasty nefarious pre-cooked prime rib dinner for last month Thanksgiving, (see review), I stepped up to the plate and purchased a 5 pound prime rib and 4 steaks for next week Christmas from Omaha Steaks. $225.00 The meat arrived yesterday safely packaged on dry ice in styrofoam cooler. I admit concern about this purchase as there are several very recent negative reviews. My steaks I opened are top quality !!!! UPDATE: Christmas Day 2024 ! The prime rib is supreme !! I like Omaha steaks! My Mom-in-Law usually gifts us this assortment: "4 (6 oz.) Butcher's Cut Filet Mignons; 4 (6 oz.) Butcher's Cut Top Sirloins; 4 (6 oz.) Boneless Pork Chops; 4 (3 oz.) Kielbasa Sausages; 4 (5.5 oz.) Stuffed Baked Potatoes; and 4 (4 oz.) Caramel Apple Tartlets. Since my husband pretty much 86'd red meat from his diet and I have, too [except for the occasional splurge], she stopped the OS giftage. I still have a few of the filets which freeze well, cook up quickly, and are delicious! In fact, I'm craving one right now! The cardboard boxes they come package in can quickly fill a standard freezer, so just unbox them and toss the boxes, you can always get the cooking information [temp., length of cook time] from their website. I bet we received that gift assortment 8 times or more, and we never experienced any issues with the packaging or delivery. We repurpose the styrofoam boxes by storing Christmas ornaments and decorations in them. A couple of iterations of the MIL gift also had chicken breasts and beef patties both of these were high quality and tasted good too! For the past 15 years a family member has sent us a Christmas present of Omaha steaks. It has been the poorest quality food product ever. Tasteless, tough to chew the steaks, the apple desert pastry is a joke. It appears to have been frozen forever. Poor quality hamburgers. Blah , blah blah. We have tried to be tactful so as not to hurt the feelings of the member but nothing works. Bluntly we have told a lie that we have stopped eating red meat. In an effort get him to stop. Because we wont eat this meat ever. So one year we gave our neighbor the box. He tried the product and threw it away.. We are not fussy eaters . Placed an online order 12/19. Received confirmation order email immediately & it said DELIVERY of 12/27. Got email 12/22 saying the shipping/delivery date (both were used in the email) changed to 12/30. Got ANOTHER email 12/27 saying there was a payment issue. Called them immediately (about 9:30 am) & was told the wait time would be more than 100 minutes! Was told I could receive a call-back, & they did about 1:10 pm. Told them of the email. They made me run the debit/gift card again. Was pushed back to the service person (Rochelle) who then had to verify that payment went. On hold for a bit & the call was disconnected. Rochelle DID call me back eventually & said the payment didn't work. She then asked if it was some type of gift card & while it's a reward card, I guess it's still a gift card. Rochelle informed me they only take gift cards from Omaha steaks. Nothing like that is stated on their website, and why did it take a week to get that email?!?!?!? I then had to pay with my regular debit card & that went through. When I asked if it would still be delivered 12/30, she said NO, THE SHIPMENT WOULD GO OUT JANUARY 3 & BE DELIVERED SOMETIME AFTER THAT!!! I am so angry as this was supposed to be a Christmas present & they keep pushing off the delivery BECAUSE OF THEIR ISSUES!! Rochelle again put me on hold to confer with someone else there about getting something added on. While on hold, the call was disconnected - again. I tried calling & was informed the wait time was not 245 minutes & was not offered a call-back. Who has more than 4 hours to wait on hold???!!!! Last evening I purchased a large gift package of prepared meals to be sent to a grieving family who recently lost a loved one in a tragic accident. Knowing they would have many arrangements to handle on the day of the funeral itself, I requested a delivery date three days afterwards when things would settle down a bit. However, at 11 AM today, I received an email that Omaha Steaks had taken it upon themselves to move up my delivery date to the day of the funeral itself. I am utterly disappointed and frustrated with Omaha Steaks for changing my delivery date after I made it explicitly clear when I needed the order. I immediately called customer service who said they couldn't help me and would have to transfer me to "Customer Service" (yes, you read that correctly) and wasted 30 minutes of my time explaining the situation and begging them to honor the original delivery date. The representative advised that she would "unlock the order" and that the delivery date would be fixed. Two hours later (from the 11:00 email) I received another email that the order had already shipped out with delivery set for the day of the funeral. I am completely embarrassed that this grieving family will now have to deal with this delivery as they gather to mourn. In my first order with the company, Omaha Steaks has shown that they do not care about their customers' requests and needs. For such awful service when I truly needed their support, I will never order from them again and advise others to avoid them as well. read more

Back in December, I had come home to find a huge box on my doorstep. It was a package from Omaha Steaks. I certainly had not ordered from them, although I always wanted to try as I am a real carnivore in regards to my eating habits. It was a Christmas gift from my boss. I opened up the box with dry ice to full of... wait for it.... frozen meat. Hot dogs, chicken breasts, hamburgers, and bacon wrapped filet mignon. There were also some non-meat items like potatoes au gratin and apple tartlets. I have been slowly consuming the contents that came inside the box since then. I do not understand the bad reviews, as I think the quality was great. Have loved every meal I made from it. Will definitely look into buying some more from Omaha Steaks. read more

Gonna talk about my latest order from Omaha Steaks (OS) but first a little personal history. Going back to the 80's I've ordered from them for friends and family for birthdays, special occasions, etc. before the click and ship era. It was convenient and actually pretty cool to have one of those big boxes of delicious treats show up on your doorstep, those were the days. I remember my first extended trip to Omaha and how I was blown away by the amazing beef, and some serious great steaks. The stuff Omaha Steaks shipped back then were head and shoulders above supermarket meats. All-natural grain-feeding beef that's expertly cut and flash frozen then shipped to me overnight so there's still frozen, it's a good plan. Aside from meat you can still purchase a range of products besides their signature beef but over time they've expanded their selections to include so many other foods from live lobster and Polish-style kielbasa to wild halibut fillets and more plus lots of deserts. Last check they've got over 400 items to choose from and they do have have a butcher service that'll custom-cut a steak for you, trim and debone, tie or carve entire roasts, and talk you through your choices over the phone. I have heard a LOT of complaints about OS but to be fair many of them evolve around shipping, customer service or something like their Italian dinners. I mean, I still marvel when people come here to the Gulf and go to a bbq joint, just a heads up peeps, it's not bbq country, just sayin'. I gotta say that whenever I've had any issue at all the folks at OS couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating with multiple options to make me happy. At the end of the day, their product may not be what's expected but the customer service is pretty darn good. My latest order had sirloins, filets, hamburger, chicken, hot dogs and deserts. Everything I made with them was spot on, no complaints. Bottom line: I continue to order from Omaha Steaks for friends, family and myself and especially enjoy their meat products. Our Omaha Steaks order arrived 6 days late. I planned for them to arrive in time for our family Father's Day celebration. It has also been over 90 degrees all week where we live in Ohio. The package smelled horrible from the outside and had visible meat juices on it. From the inside, I cannot even begin to describe the smell. Rotting flesh. Disinfected my floors and countertops after coming in contact with the package. I called customer service. They apologized and offered to re-ship. I declined, as I am not interested in paying them any money after this experience. They are processing a refund. Needless to say; this was my first and last Omaha Steaks experience. read more
