It was conveniently close to the home we stayed at, had pretty much everything we needed except some Asian foods but we were pleasantly surprised to find everything we needed close by. The best part was that they had shelled oysters in a bucket. I got a half pound to try and went back for more a few days later. read more

Well, it's been 9 years - I figure I better update my review. I think I now prefer this location to the one at 50th & Center because it is a bit smaller and I like the parking lot better. Also, it is close to other businesses I frequent in the area (Bookworm, Le Quartier, Long Dog, Goodwill, Westgate Farm Stand, Dollar Tree, etc.). At the times I go shopping, it never seems that busy and it's the one place that I don't check and bag my own groceries these days. I have to say that the yogurt and pudding section is the best I've seen of any grocery store in town. So many brands, selection, and flavors! They even have the caramel flan that I love. It always seems clean and the staff are nice and helpful. There's also a rather large electric car charging station (not that I need it, just an observation). read more

Ordered breakfast at Market Grille on a Tuesday morning. Simple order, no substitutions. Plenty of empty seats. It took 35 minutes to get served. Not acceptable. My time window was closed. I had a major problem with this HyVee less than 2 weeks ago with expired meat. (I used the pickup service.) It made me very angry because I had to make a special trip to take it back. I spoke to the manager and let it go. I did not write a negative review. Today, I picked up another order (1:00 to 1:30 pm). OMG...the rotisserie chicken was cooked yesterday afternoon according to the label. Now, I have to make another special trip to HyVee with old chicken. I do NOT want OLD cooked chicken on the bone that's been sitting who knows where for 24 hours. I expect it to be fresh. Even though I live 8 blocks from this HyVee, I will no longer use this HyVee. I would rather drive elsewhere and get fresh meat rather than accept expired or old meat from this store. Really? TWICE in 13 days...this HyVee has a problem. In BOTH cases, it has ruined my dinner plans and I now must go find meat at a different store and delay my dinner with company. NOT acceptable. read more

The rotting plant material Hy-Vee stores try to pass off as "fresh produce" and sell for $6 a pound is offensive. This is a consistent issue across all of their stores, sometimes you can even tell they've mixed fresh and rotten produce together and packaged it up so they can fool people who only see the fresh stuff on top. I wonder if the people who are loyal to Hyvee just haven't been to another grocery store in five years and have forgotten the taste of fresh fruit. read more

I went to the Floral department very emotional and Denise helped me with making a small arrangement for my Father's grave. She was extremely empathetic and comforting and by the time I left I was feeling calm. I later went back to give her a hug and to purchase this fun witch. Y'all HyVee goes hard! I'm from TX in case you didn't catch on to the y'all so it was a real treat coming in Veterans Day morning. First of all, FREE breakfast for vets?! So special! Second, market grille breakfast is a must and I'm not much of a breakfast person. They have gluten free toast, God bless! The breakfast potatoes were too oily so get the hash browns. Hy-Vee is our fav market in Omaha. In addition to a great selection and effective, friendly service, they also have a good deli and self-serve with indoor seating. I especially like the selections of healthy foods, the familiar faces, the bank inside, and the bulk bins. There is more than enough parking, and multiple lot entrances/exits. There's even a Hy-Vee gas station. Those points got me a 9 cent/gallon fill-up today! read more

Little known fact: Hy-Vee is Omaha's largest Chinese restaurant. In this case for $10.95 which includes $.97 for Mayor Stothert's restaurant tax, you get 2 entrees and 2 sides with the "Manager's Special." What is so great about the special is how profoundly mediocre and mushy the food here is. It's a Hy-Vee Chinese hallmark. Mushy General Tso's Chicken, their signature Mushy dish, "Mushy Lo-mein." Now I can recall Hy-Vee specializing in mushy Chinese food for at least a decade, and to theirs credit, its as mushy today as it was a decade ago! This store has the worst produce ever. About two weeks ago they had brown iceberg and celery . It looked awful . I can't believe they put it out . Then I wanted fresh basil , had zero. The produce department needs to step it up. They also put too many Hy-Vee products out leaving no room for other name brands. I quit shopping here and I only live two minutes away . read more

I love the location. It's very convenient to where we live. The people that work there are all very friendly and helpful- there really is a helpful smile in every isle. Their gas rewards program is great! One time I paid 9 cents a gallon. The floral department is nice and reasonably priced too. Bring in your favorite vase and they will do beautiful arrangements while you shop. Be careful with their produce. There have been times when I've bought those big Earth Bound spring mix lettuce boxes and the lettuce was wilted and gone bad. The first time it happened I thought it was just an oversight, but then it happened again which is frustrating. Though I'm positive if I had returned it they would have given me a refund or an exchange. And I wish they would stock more high-end wine, like Cakebread, Lloyd, or Trefethen. Asked a manager for help finding something. Dude was openly annoyed that I asked him for assistance and made sure I knew it. Workers here are great tho, I love the people that work the deli and la carte sections. Hy-Vee market place while pricey, isn't a bad place to stop for food. All Hy-Vee locations seem to deliver the same consistency -- they're clean, large and staffed by helpful and friendly people. The store at 90th and Center is no exception. I stopped by here on my way home after a long day in the suburbs. I needed to turn off my brain so I grabbed a bottle of Jim Beam Black to share with the Mrs. Their boozes here are usually going to be as cheap or cheaper than pretty much any other store and the selection is a cut above the other grocery stores. That's buying power for you. As a company, Hy-Vee has come a long way since I was a kid going to their rinky-dink rundown location at 50th and Center (now rebuilt as a shiny new store). This Hy-Vee always makes me happy to shop there, I feel like things are a little more spread out than I like and some wish the set up was more consistent with other stores - but it's always clean and the staff are nice. I took a point for the chinese - the staff at that food part are super nice, but they did not have quite the variety I am used to at Hy-Vee but I forget that this is not my preferred one mostly because of the sesame chicken -- it's just the breaded chicken and they add the sauce to the top like Sweet and Sour - not the same and does not taste that great. The grocery store itself is fine; it's very clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. The Chinese food counter should be avoided, though - the veggie lo mein had almost no veggies - a very small amount of cabbage and literally two tiny pieces of julienned carrot - and the large chicken lo mein had very little chicken; between a small veggie and large chicken lo mein, we paid over $20 for dishes that were 99% noodles. This was the most mediocre, overpriced food I've had in a long time. read more

Hy-vee is a great place for a lazy Sunday Brunch. Not only can you get your typical eggs, bacon, pancakes, and toast combos, but if you're feeling up to something else, you can grab Chinese, supermarket sushi, pizza, deli sandwiches, fried chicken, or even the salad bar. It's like a mini food court. When you first arrive, I recommend taking a look around the seating area. How fast you get your normal breakfast food is a function of how busy it is. More people equates to a longer wait. One Sunday, when it was really packed, we waited over 45 minutes for our food. Another Sunday with lighter crowds, my eggs, bacon, toast, and hash browns took a mere 10 minutes. Sometimes I grab something from one of the other departments. They each have decent fare but are quite good for the price. The sweet and sour chicken is particularly filling, and the salad bar has a number of options including my favorite, a single trip flat fee. While all the other foods are decent enough, I'm not a fan of Hy-vee's sushi. It is comparable to what you might find at Whole Foods, but it is still supermarket budget sushi in the midwest. It can satisfy a craving in a pinch, but I'd need to buy two or three sets to actually feel full. In that case, it's more cost effective for me to order just about anything and save my sushi cravings for elsewhere. The staff has always been helpful and friendly in my experience. It just always feels a bit like a skeleton crew, so you'll have to nab the clerk if you have a question. And sometimes they get behind in bussing the tables, but they will always speedily clear one if you ask. And for those of you who don't like restaurant coffee, there is a Starbucks inside. read more

This Hy-Vee has a real decent deli section that I visit often. They are undergoing a renovation on the NW corner of the building for a drive thru Pharmacy window and a new Organic foods section. They claim to have a great build it your own beer section, but their selections are not even worth looking at for that price. I took off a star just for that claim. read more

This was my first time in this Hy-Vee store. My goal was to pick up 4 chicken dinners to go. The process was pretty quick during the evening hours cwhen every one was buying dinner or items to make dinner. The chicken was fresh, came with two sides. The potato salad with green onion is very tasty but the cloe slaw is average. The only issue was that the high school kid who was the cashier forgot to swipe my fuel saver card and neglected to place the plastic silverware incthe bag...a big no no. The parking lot looks dangerous so park in the back and walk to protect yourself and your vehicle. read more

We ordered my daughter's wedding cakes from HyVee and they were delicious. They delivered the cake, and set it up with the flowers from our florist. Everyone raved about the strawberry, lemon, and chocolate cakes, and the price was not to be beat. read more

Love this particular Hy-Vee due to Nancy Bertolino the Dietitian. She provides cooking classes and healthy alternatives when it comes to ingredients. Nancy is also very helpful whenever we happen to see her when stop in to do some grocery shopping. Unfortunately since the dining area has been redone there haven't been anymore classes that I know of, which is a loss because the cooking classes were why we started shopping here to begin with. read more

Chinese food at this store - NOT GOOD! Beware- I had got the Broccoli and Beef-steamed rice- veggie egg roll. It did not taste the best- but in less that 2 hours my stomach was gurgling like crazy. Ordered a fresh assortment of flowers for V-Day. What was sent was very disappointing. They ended up sending some carnations with a couple other low cost flowers stuck in the arrangement. Many stems were cracked or broken causing the arrangement to start to wilt and die the next day. To be fair over all, I have had some good experiences from that floral department however this was the worse from Hy Vee or any other provider I have received in my years. read more

I have shopped at this Hyvee for a long time and recently am increasingly disappointed. At 3 o'clock on a Monday afternoon, the shelves are not stocked. The selection of produce, eggs, popcorn, and other necessities are half empty. And there is no one to help. The produce on the shelves is not fresh. Thankfully someone was able to bring fresh broccoli from the back. If it's there, why is it not on the shelf! My total purchase would have been larger if I could have found the selection. There are many grocery options in this part of town. Get it together Hyvee! read more

Have been a Hy-Vee customer for years, but I won't go back to this location. I purchased a deli fruit salad to serve at a party. It looked fine. The next day at the get-together I found that some of the fruit was spoiled. One guest had to spit out the rotten watermelon. The following day, I had my receipt and returned the portion of the salad that had not been served to the store. The manager offered me a PARTIAL refund as some of it was gone!!???! She was indignant when I would only accept a full refund. Terrible customer service. read more
