My first visit to Gentile Dentistry.
First the good;
Not at ANY medical facility either dentistry or otherwise,
have I had covid practicals, be so stringent. Upon arrival you are
treated to, a forehead thermometer and mandatory hand sanitizer. I
then (because of my own concern for the virus) was uncomfortable
siting in the waiting room so I was treated to the employee break
room containing retro arcade games. It was truly special.
Denise later did my entire intake including a photo and signature
verification. She was EXTREMELY pleasant and professional.
After some waiting I was attended to by Railey who ushered me into
the exam room and set me up with x-rays and a bib. Railey was very
pleasant and shared with me why she became a certified dental
assistant.
I then was seen by Sarah, whom I assumed was the hygienist because she
was the person who cleaned my teeth. A very good job indeed. Even though
it had been some time since my teeth had been cleaned professionally.
(given the pandemic and all) she made me feel comfortable and relaxed.
After that Dr. Bellinghiere came in and immediately engaged me in small
talk establishing rapport. We talked about my being brought up in New
York City and how he was familiar with a popular Italian restaurant, I
have frequented. He then proceeded to examine my mouth and make his
assessments. Because of some prior work done by another dentist, he needed a review of the procedure before being able to work on that tooth. He did however find a cavity and agreed to fill that tooth on my next visit.
Upon leaving I met with Alicia, who made my next appointment being considerate of my time preferences.
Now the bad;
And this is my only complaint. I wore my partial dentures to the appointment
and removed them prior to x-rays . I was given two paper towels to wrap them in and Railey, took them from me. I didn't see where she put them. (my fault) Later at the conclusion of the appointment, my lower partial was missing. It was later found but what bothered me (besides the fact that they had misplaced it) was that both, the doctor and hygienist acted as if I was lying or perhaps confused about having the lower at the appointment. The doctor even went as far as to suggest that maybe I should "check with my wife" as to the location of the lowers. Again everything worked out and the lowers were found and Sarah even apologized, for the problem.
All in all I was very happy with my first contact at Gentile Dentistry and would
have given them five stars but for the issue with my partial. I will in future keep a close eye on where they are put to prevent it from happening again. I'm looking forward to my next appointment and will be in a better position at that time to evaluate the actual dentistry work associated with the cavity, at that time. I will, follow up then. read more
