That's my favorite pub now. Love the beer! The food was absolutely amazing and the turkish gentleman who helped us was very kind as well.
I always love coming here because they are friendly and the outdoor seating is comfy and fosters a good sense of community. They also have a great beer selection and really good beer prices for the South Bay area. Today, I have to give the food mixed reviews. I enjoyed my knockwurst with grilled onions, sauerkraut and brown mustard. The sausage was tasty and the bun was soft and sweet. The krinkle fries held the ketchup well but were otherwise a little dull. I had to add salt. My wife felt the same about her fries and also the steak wrap. She said the steak was tender but not super flavorful, nor did the tzaziki have much flavor. The baklava was sweet and crunchy, but again the dough could have had more flavor. I enjoyed the pistachio over the chocolate.
Cozy, friendly owner and lovely outdoor seating on the main strip on Mountain Views food alley. We love various great selection of German beers on draft. A lots of authentic Mediterranean & German bakeries to choose from. We tried various baklava & really think it has great texture and not too sweet. My veal jager schnitzel came with large portion & tasty. The mushroom topping was crunchy & not overcook. The sauce is well blended. The crispy and tasty fried veal really complement the whole dishes esp. when you paired with some German beer. I also like the dolma, hummus & babaghanoush. They are great appetizer. The owner is very friendly. Talking to us and asked for feedback. Also, gave us complimentary feta fries! Would love to go back again in the future.
Located right at almost the end of Castro Street by the train station is this Turkish gem. Whenever you are in Mountain View and you want to try some real nice middle eastern food with more of a Turkish spin I would make this your stop. Whatever it is that you like they have it. Along with beers for you to savor during your meal or their "Happy Hour", they also have coffee and desserts. WE recently made a stop here for lunch and I had the Falafel wrap and it was great. It was the perfect lunch for that day. It most certainly has its own twist and was a bit different than what I have had before, but I loved it. The staff are great and friendly. I most certainly would come back again to try the wonderful looking bakery and caffe items.
Searching for a place to grab a quick meal, my party and I stumbled upon this restaurant. I found the environment very pleasant and the food to be alright. The prices were very fair, but I felt the food was just average overall. My party did not like their items and felt that what they paid for was not met. They have a great selection of alcohol but the advice they gave to my wife on how to pour her beer backfired as she ended up drinking 40% foam. I don't know if I'd ever come here again, but do you recommend the place as it's a decent place for parties to enjoy time together. 3/5.
I think the vibes were really cool, but something threw me off. There was an obvious greek theme they were going with but i felt like it was also pretty german due to the food and beer. I like the desserts. My favorite one has to be the napoleon because the taste was creamy and sweet but not enough for me to get tired of the flavor. The tiramisu tasted average but a little more on the sweeter side. My friends got beers and they liked the hibiscus one and a cider that i forgot the name of. The pistachio cake and carrot cake tasted pretty similar but not worth mentioning. My friends got the wurst platter and the sausage in the right was my favorite with the snap and string flavor. It was meaty without the gaminess. THE APPLE STRUDEL TASTED REALLY GOOD OMG I LIKED THE FLAVOR IT WAS MISSING ICE CREAM BUT OTHERWISE I LIKED IT
Really delicious but the bowl was mainly rice and the gyro was really salty for me. The hummus and veggies were awesome. The patio seating is so nice! The line to order can get long on a Friday at 6:30 pm but the food comes out pretty fast. They have wine and beer too.
It was an okay place to be dine, they have varieties of the beers, and foods and drink tastes okay. It was a relaxing Saturday, people show up after 11:30am. some People came dine here have extensive knowledges about the type of the beers they would like to orders. My friends said the foods were good. I tried their beer couple years ago.
This place is a decent place to gather with a big group. They have both QR code and counter ordering, which makes it easy to have separate checks and manage people showing up at different times. Also, their patio (on the side facing the Caltrain station) has plenty of tables with bench seating. Since the patio tables are pretty close together, it's easy to spread a group across a few of them, though it makes getting out a little hard for folks in the middle of the bench. But, the food is nothing special. The quantities are okay for the price, but the flavors aren't that pronounced. The beers looked good, though, so this place may be better for grabbing a drink than grabbing a meal.
PERFECT MV BRUNCH SPOT! this is my third time visiting this place for brunch, absolutely love it! Shakshuka is my go-to here but this time I tried Menemen and it was equally delish. Iced Latte with Hazelnut is not to be missed. It usually gets busy on Saturdays but we came here on a Sunday and no wait. Ambiance is as Californian as it gets, outdoor seating is my favorite on a good sunny day. Highly recommended!
Nice place to sit alone or be with company. The staff were friendly and served my food quickly, I hope to come back and try more dishes!
The falafel salad was HUGE! I couldn't believe how full I was after eating it. We sat outside since it was a nice, sunny day. They have plenty of outside seating! Service was wonderful. They were kind and helped us a lot.

Been coming for maybe 10 years or so. It's kind of a staple spot for me for breakfast and after work beer. Super friendly folks and convenient paying up front and not waiting for the check. Outdoor is where it's at (and try the French toast) read more
I've been here multiple times and I have realized that Olympus' location is excellent. There's a small gated off area that kids can play in (probably not supposed to but nobody cares), there's an outdoor dining area off Castro street so it's not as noisy as one facing the busy avenue, and due to its corner location at the end of Castro there's a lot of parking available relative to the more central parts of the street. Unfortunately, I can't eat a location, and it's not enough to be conveniently located. I also want good food, and to say Olympus is underwhelming is charitable on my part. I don't have much to say besides the coffee is weak, the cost vs portion is way off, and the food quality itself is a lot lower than I want. The dish that exemplifies the latter two points best is the sucuk menemen. The menu describes it as a veritable feast: "3 scrambled eggs w/ baked tomato, onion, bell pepper, butter, w/ Turkish beef sausage". As you can see from my photo, it's a few spoonfuls of overcooked egg and sad slices of sausage. I am 100% sure this dish at a minimum should have runny yolks, but Olympus seems to be unable to handle that. Maybe skip the cast iron presentation so the eggs don't keep cooking at the table? In any case it tastes like eggs and supermarket sausage so I'd rather spend less than $14 for this and make it myself. I have a frequent dining companion who likes this place but I think next time I go (when/if COVID is over) I'll probably just enjoy the location and not bother with disappointing food. read more
Olympus Caffe exceeded my expectations! I had a great time here on Saturday night, so would definitely return. First, it is not just a caffe & bakery. They have a really nice beer selection too. I came here with a few friends on Saturday night - it was fairly busy that evening. I had already ate before I met the crew, so I ended up just drinking. The waitress at the front counter (you order at the counter) was very friendly and had a smile on her face. Good first impression for me! I asked her for a beer recommendation, so I went with a grpaefruit beer. It was nice and fruity, and light-- so good to kick off the evening. My friend recomended a German beer next, and it was so good! I believe it was teh Bock. I liked the service-- the guy pouring the beer was also friendly. I'd love to return next time-- maybe in the afternoon-- to try one of their pastries. Note: Olympus is at the end of downtown Mtn View (Castro St.) right next to the Caltrain station. read more
i came here regularly last year for brunch following a long saturday morning run with friends at nearby shoreline lake. we loved the outdoor seating and beergarden feel...and yes, you can order beer in the morning here! my go to dish is always either the feta or mushroom menemen ($14.95), both of which consist of scrambled eggs, baked tomato, bell pepper, onion and either feta cheese or mushrooms on a cast iron plate. i love both the smell and taste of this turkish breakfast plate since it is so different from a my usual egg dishes for breakfast. the cast iron keeps everything warm for a while. this usually comes with a piece of turkish pita bread, dense and delicious on its own, or used to dip into the juices from the menemen. there is always plentiful seating outside, even for groups as large as 20-25 (which is what my group usually is!) the line can be a little long at times, but it does move quite efficiently...you get a number, sit down and the waiter brings you the order. there is only 1 restroom inside, which sometimes results in a longer wait, esp when the restaurant is busy. since castro st is still closed, you will need to park a couple blocks away, but as long as you don't mind the short walk, there is always tons of parking within 2-3 blocks of the cafe. solid place for breakfast, lunch dinner or happy hour! read more
This is my go-to spot if I am catching up with a co-worker from previous workplaces or with a bunch of girlfriends. I recently went there to catch up with a co-worker after work. Place was nice and quiet around 6pm with lot of empty seats being available on a Friday evening, which is always a plus. We ordered a glass of wine each with croissant and tiramisu. They have a huge variety of baked goods that one can order with their wine or coffee. Tiramisu was really delicious and is my favorite. They had an option of rice pudding that I am planning to try the next time. Their coffee is good too and I have seen many people having their coffee and working on a laptop. Its a popular hangout spot for people working in the neighborhood. Highly recommended spot for quick chat-ups without the formalities of getting seating, placing an order, and waiting for the checks. read more
Ordered the mushroom menemen for brunch. Portion was good -- about a meal and a half for me personally, although I was hungry enough to finish the full plate. The bread they serve with their breakfast was absolutely delicious. The breakfast itself was good -- juicy from the tomatoes and very flavorful -- but it was a bit more pricey than I thought it should have been. My meal was ~$15 which was a bit higher than expected, but that's my only real complaint from my experience. Other comments: Quick service, lots of outdoor and some indoor seating, place started getting busier ~12:30pm on a Saturday. read more
Last Saturday I came here for the second time and it was the proof/reaffirmation that it is a good place to eat. (breakfast, lunch, or dinner). Its dining area is cozy, spacious, and perfect for relaxing, enjoying your food, and the street view. I had the famous Turkish Breakfast (light, varied, and full of flavors that combined are very enjoyable), my friend ordered something "safe" and something traditional: traditional beef burger & gyro pita. He was very happy with both options (meat with good seasoning/taste and not greasy) and of course a traditional beer (he was really happy with the combination of food and beer). The staff is friendly and always looking if you need something, and ready to clean/disinfect the areas that are vacated to prepare them for the next people. Its menu is very varied and extensive, which will give you the opportunity to go more than once and enjoy all its options (and its desserts!) Bonus point: the location, it gives you the opportunity to walk -after eating (and not feeling so guilty about the dessert you ordered) through the whole Castro street and enjoy the atmosphere of "the streets closed to cars". read more

I have became a regular customer here. The location is very good. It's just beside the Mountain View Light Rail Station, after you have the beer , you can take the light rail or CalTrain home if you have limited budget for Uber or Lyft. Food here is good and you can bring your growler to fill up with the draft beer. 64oz. is about $28 plus tax. Although, it is about $8 higher than the Lazy K9 Beer Club (Subscription: $35/quarter). After I've gone through the Lazy beer club poor service, I would rather paying the additional $8 here. Highly recommend this place. read more

Closest I came., to getting a beer in a Biergarten in Freising sipping a weihenstephan Hellas beer. Amazing Beer, excellent pretzel(they serve it warm) . Will try their kebabs and Gyros next time. Awesome vibe and a great spot to grab cold German beers on draft, sit outside on their patio, watch trains and people go by while listening to Beatles and Chuck berry They should really call themselves a Biergarten instead of a cafe and bakery!! read more
Came here for an outdoor lunch on a pretty sunny Sunday. I ordered a chicken souvlaki plate, while my boyfriend got a beer and the gyro pita. The chicken souvlaki was fine. Very mediocre. I thought the rice on the side might have a little seasoning or something to it but it's just plain rice. Overall, probably a good kid friendly meal, just not high on flavor if that's something you're looking for. My boyfriend liked his gyro a lot and it was a pretty ambiance. read more

SPRING BREAAAAAK!!!!!!! I wanted to take a nice vacay in Europe or Asia, but my bank account was like, "Ummmmmm. You should just go to the park." Well, I guess I don't really NEED to go to an exotic place. A friend of mine reminded me that we're fortunate to live where there are so many restaurants from different cultures when we had breakfast together on a Tuesday morning: "Let's meet at my daughter 's school and we'll walk to Downtown Moutainview. "How far is it?!" "Thirty minutes. We should exercise." "Woman! I just did 90 minutes of yoga before I came here. I'm done exercising, I need to E A T!" She gave me a quick tour of what's in downtown and decided on Olympus. Surrounded by trees, flowers, plants, we sat outside to enjoy the sun. I LOVE the outdoor seating. I am definitely coming back when we have more sunny days!!!! Turkish breakfast #3 was incredibly tasty with eggs, bell pepper, onion, and feta cheese. I liked eating it with the simple, soft bread that had a slight hint of salt. The Turkish tea was a little bitter than the green tea I usually drink in the morning, but it was sufficient to fill my need for tea. I tried my friend's Spanakopita, and I liked the cheese and spinach filling a lot, I decided to get one to take home. But it was way oily when I heated it up at home. I was about to give this place five stars, but the wait for my pastries was ridiculous. The guy behind the counter rang me up for a baklava, chocolate croissant, and a spanakota. I don't understand why he didn't bag them right away. I had to wait until rang up three or four people behind me. When the line was gone, he still didn't bag them. I knew he could see me. What the heck?!? After he bagged them, I still had to wait, until I realized too late that he put them in the oven to warm up. I told him twice I wanted my pastries to go. Why heat them up? I may not have been able to go somewhere extravagant for Spring Break, but at least I had a little taste of Turkey. Is it really similar to the food in Turkey? Not according to some reviews I've read. Oh well. I still enjoyed my breakfast. Hopefully, someday I can find out! read more
Came here on a Sunday morning and got the special Susec Menemen with the Turkey sausage and the peppers and pita! This place has a ton of outdoor seating and you get served relatively quickly I really enjoyed that they also had Exploding Kittens which I played before my food came. The pita was super flakey and tasty and the tomato flavor was really great and savory so the whole Turkish breakfast dish stood out a lot. Would come again. read more

3.5 stars Downtown Mountain View has transformed into a little "restaurant city" with plentiful outdoor seating in well-decorated spaces! Olympus has evolved with the Covid times as well--what used to be a Turkish cafe and bakery is now also a German-style beer garden! They've creatively doubled their menu offerings and set up a tented/umbrella-shaded area for outdoor seating on picnic benches and regular table and chairs, complete with contactless, QR-code ordering. My pick from the original Olympus menu was the combo appetizer plate, which came with four ramekins containing hummus, baba ghanoush, black olives, and two dolmas, along with two rounds of sliced pita bread. The hummus and baba ghanoush were on the thin, watery side, but the soft, chewy pita bread made for a nice vessel for the dips. I also tried the gyro plate, which came with slices of gyro, rice, and salad, along with salad dressing, tzatziki, and more hummus. This plate came with pita as well, and I also asked for a round of Turkish bread, which had hand-formed dimples and was pleasantly thick and chewy! Overall, the food here was rather average for a Turkish restaurant, though the beer garden atmosphere was so pleasant and festively-decorated! read more

Olympus Caffe and Das Bierhaus are in the same place. Large tables outside, nice selections of Turkish deserts, kids menu, everything was good. I will come back to try out Kaymak next time. read more

Idk how these guys could be rated negatively? My husband brought us here on a Monday evening. Super clean inside, kid/family friendly an overall relaxed atmosphere. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. The service was great. The gentlemen working brought out everything to us and had a kind demeanor to them :) Ordered chicken schnitzel and a bratwurst plate and a pretzel and a couple brewskis. Everything tasted great. Even bought a tasty slice of carrot cake to top it all off. read more

This place around the corner of Evelyn and Castro St. has really good food and beer. We recently got take-out from here, after the new bay area shelter-in-place orders. Their web site was good to use, the order was ready on time, pick-up was easy. And most importantly, the food was super tasty! They're also open till a bit later in the evening, for a last minute dinner take-out order. We loved the compostable packaging being used, with zero waste to landfill! Winner for me! read more

I come in often, and enjoy a beer after a long day. This place has the best Happy Hour for beer on Castro!!! Das Boot? Yes they have it, along with 1L, .5L and sampler sized sized beers for a 3 beer flight. For food I love the soup, falafel, feta fries, and gyro. (Please bring back the orange crunchy french fries!!!) Love their brunch too. Indoor and outdoor seating is abundant, but I see they take reservations for larger parties. See ya soon for a beer!!! read more
Tried Feta menemen- 4/5 if you like vegetables, esp tomato, you'll enjoy this. Comes with a small piece of soft bread that's great for dipping Baklava- 4/5 one pistachio and one walnut filling. 2 for $2 which is a great deal. Tuna melt- 3/5 average. Fries were great! read more

Nice place for outdoor dining. A pretty large variety of seatings to choose from, whether you want partial shade or in the tent. However the food was served lukewarm. It sort of finished the meaning of skewer. No water was served. read more

I have always liked this place for casual ambiance. Place your order at the counter and they will bring your drink/food to your table. My German friends love this place for the beer selection. I personally like their hot wine. They have a lot of outdoor seating with long benches. They are right opposite the Mountain View Caltrain station in case you are taking the train. Also, lot of parking around where they although Mountain View Castro street parking has been busy lately. Restroom lines are always long as they only have one restroom. read more
