This is a new Hyundai dealership. The location is convenient because it's the only Hyundai dealership in Vancouver. The lot here is decent, which is a huge plus compared to the other dealerships at the auto malls, which are impossible to find parking in. I hope they don't just fill the lot with their own cars so customers have nowhere to park as that is a massive deterrent to come to the dealership. The staff here are also very nice. I came for the grand opening event to get an oil change. The prices are decent. Shout out to JR who helped me get my oil change done and kept me updated throughout. JR was super helpful and answered all my questions.
Areas of improvement: as mentioned, I came for the grand opening. I got here probably 45min after the event started. It was dead, but also at the same time it seemed like the sales people were having a huddle and didn't really know what to do. They should have had some breakfast foods or something as the bbq wasn't set up at that point. Basically, the whole event seemed like it was still being set up. The receptionist was nice, but also seemed to assume that I didn't have a Hyundai and therefore wouldn't qualify for the oil change special. I was taken aback by that. The oil change itself took over 2 hours, mainly because the car wash apparently had issues and only one was working or they didn't have sufficient lot staff dedicated to services being done. That's pretty long for what was being done. I think they could have staffed things better or prepared better considering this was a grand opening special. The other thing I noticed is that the sales staff is not proactive. One guy did ask me if I had been helped when I was leaving the service area to go for a walk. However, when I came back and actively browsed the cars in the showroom for 30 minutes, ibcluding opening doors on 75% of the vehicles, no one approached me. There was ample sales staff. But no one asked me if I had questions. This was not great as not all the cars had the specs displayed (also annoying, why have only 20% of the cars on display with a spec sheet?). I saw other customers also looking at cars and not being assisted. The entire time I was in the showroom, including sitting in the centre of it, I was not approached. I appreciate that they don't want to be too aggressive and pushy, but there needs to be more initiative. They should ask people if they need help and if the person says no, then they can leave them alone. Or, they could have offered a test drive. I was not intending to buy that day, but I do have a family member who is interested and I also would potentially come back for myself in the future as I did have actual questions about two of the models.
Overall, a promising start and I would come back here for parts and services. More work needs to be done the sales end. read more
