I was shopping for a new driver for my dad's birthday and was really disappointed by the experience at this store. From the moment I walked in, I felt awkwardly unwelcome. I was looking at several different clubs and had some questions, but no one seemed remotely interested in helping me. There were two men and a woman standing at the front of the store, but no one greeted me, offered assistance, or even acknowledged that I was there. This is my usual go-to for any golf gear, whether it be clubs, balls, shoes, etc. I went this past weekend to buy a completely new set of clubs. They have a club-testing room in the back where you can try out various irons & driver/woods to see your distance with each club. I tried out various brands to see which would be the best, and they also gave me a pseudo-golf lesson for free to maximize my distance when hitting each club. I've known this golf shop more than 10 years and I was wondering how they are good for the drivers and the other clubs. So my hubby and I stopped by around 11:30. Almost no one there, sooooo slow....they have only japanese brands w a lot higher prices. I noticed Yelp gave 3 stars and I feel the same way....2 stars. I love Roger Dunn, Seal beach that is why. Do not buy golf clubs from this store. Club fitting is essential to play your best game regardless of your skill level. Just like clothes, you need something that fits you. Olympic Golf deals mainly with an uninformed clientele that does not know any better like my mother who paid nearly $3k for a set of ONOFF irons. I had her go to my fitter at Plaza Golf in Torrance (highly recommend it btw) and she hit off a lie board and sure enough club was too upright for her, which was causing her to hit the heel and close the face at impact and miss left often. Because the clubs are cast they can't be bent to her spec. When my mom went back to Olympic Golf, they essentially said "sorry, too bad. Not our problem." I just moved to California from New York, and I'm still getting used to it. I didn't play golf when I lived in New York City, but I've picked it up since moving to sunny California. My first priority was to get my own set of golf clubs, and luckily, Olympic Golf is located in Fullerton, not too far from my house, so I purchased them there. The store is big and clean, and when I told them I didn't know much about golf clubs, they took some basic information about me and showed me a few different clubs and explained why they would work for me. It didn't take long for me to purchase the clubs and golf clothes. When I went to the store, I'm not sure if this is always the case or not, but there were a lot of customers in the store who were being talked through by the salespeople in order to buy the clubs. But as they walked by me, the salespeople kept saying they'd be right back to help, and after a while, one of them came over to me. I had a very pleasant experience with the friendly staffs at the first golf store I went to, and my husband and I are having a lot of fun playing golf with the clubs I purchased. read more

I was thinking about it, and the salesperson matched two shirts and skirts to match each other and put them on the table. My husband said he didn't like the color of one skirt, but I decided to try it on because the staff picked it out. I ordered two Scotty Cameron putters from Olympic Golf Buena Park Branch. However, after showing me a product with a plastic cover on the head as shown in the photo above, they added a product without a plastic cover when packaging. Even though I asked them to put the product in the box as is. When I got home I found it and I told them to go back there and exchange it. They told me a new product would arrive in a few days. A few days later, I received a call from them and when I visited the store, they gave me a product with a plastic cover on the entire putter, but it did not have a plastic cover on the head. They took the unconscionable action of selling a product that people were using as a test product, telling me it was a new product, and instead of apologizing, they continued to insist that it was a new product. As shown above, they make a ridiculous excuse saying that the plastic cover on the head was made by them and that they take off the plastic cover when selling it. I bought this as a gift while traveling to Korea. They seemed confident that I would take the putter to Korea without opening the box. I didn't have time so I just received this product as is, but I hope other customers don't get fooled like me here. read more

Since then, I often come to this shop more than anywhere else cuz, staff are so friendly and honest. Today I went in and had my wedges re-gripped and decided to do some shopping but was followed around and asked to leave despite holding my receipt in hand and having been a customer of almost 4 years. I delivered petroleum products for many years and became disabled and have to wear a respirator most places that are populated due to severe fragrance sensitivity , when I entered the store with my respirator on, the whole staff laughed at me ?!?!? , think before you laugh at your customers , I was gonna spend thousands of dollars as a new golfer !!! The golf selection is ample. The prices are mostly retail with some small exceptions! If your products are on sale for 10-15% off, you are no bargain. Most importantly and make no mistake this issue...this store is owned by KOREANS to sell to other KOREANS. As I entered the store, the person at the register did not even bother to look up at me. I began walking down the aisle. I was one of 2 people in the entire store and this place was pretty big. A young salesman looked briefly at me and walked on. No smiles! No greetings! No acknowledgements! When I walked toward the back of the store, another employee walked by me without so much as a glance. I thought to myself that perhaps they are that way to everyone. Being Asian myself, I know lots of Asians are misunderstood for being rude simply because it is in their nature to be shy and reserve. As I walked back toward the exit, I noticed a customer (Korean) walked into the store. All of the sudden, out comes the smiles and greetings like they just reunited with a long lost love! Hmm...maybe it was indeed a long lost love, I thought to myself. I stood there and waited for another customer to come in. Sure enough, it was like they threw a parade for the next Korean customer that came in compared to the service I received. As someone who doesn't play golf, this is a daunting store to walk into. But it certainly didn't help that employees did not greet me either coming in or going out of the store. I lingered in the men's shoe section and made eye contact with at least two employees who neither spoke or even bothered to acknowledge me with a "hello."
