    Chicken souvlaki

Stopped in for breakfast, ordered a Denver omelette, fried eggs, bacon, hash browns, and a biscuit with sausage gravy. Good reasonably priced meal.

The Olympic Family restaurant is the quintessential Greek diner. They really care about making their customers happy. The food is always good, the service is always good, and although the prices have come up dramatically in recent years, that seems to be the trend throughout the whole spectrum of the Restaurant industry. The restaurant is laid out nicely, with display cases for wonderful desserts strategically placed, the restaurant is nicely lit, the bathrooms are clean, and whether you come in to eat by yourself or with a party of 10, they will find a good spot for you. Stacy took good care of us tonight, refilled the coffee regularly, and checked on us often enough. I had the Philly omelette with home fries, and I asked that the home fries have both onions and garlic and this place really does make I think the tastiest home fries of any restaurant anywhere. That's saying something. Usually when I come, I get their excellent rice pudding, but I was just too full this time. Plenty of on site parking.

The food was always what you would expect, it's not the best in the world but it's also not horrible, the desserts are always the best part, definitely recommend the rice pudding, it's great. The service was surprisingly fast, it always is, the waitress was nice and always asked us if we wanted more or needed more of anything. The decorations fit well with the color of the restaurant, we sat under bird statues which gave me lots of nostalgia, me and my mom would always sit under the bird statues when I was small. Would recommend.

Two eggs over easy with sausage and bacon and a pancake instead of toast

I stopped here for breakfast one morning during the week. I ordered two eggs over easy with sausage and bacon and a pancake instead of toast. The food was good and the service was prompt. I sat at the counter and was served immediately. I haven't tried the Greek dishes here yet but will sometime in the future.

The service here was friendly and attentive... the restaurant was clean, the bathrooms were clean... My friend and I got together for a late lunch here, we ordered two of the Monday specials... both of which were only OK... I got the fried bologna sandwich with fries... it came stacked with bologna, fried onions, and orange American cheese... not my favorite, but I wasn't asked what kind of cheese I wanted and didn't think to specify... it was a nice sized portion with a side of OK fries and a dill pickle spear... I'm not sure what I expected, but this was pretty ordinary... My friend got the Reuben, which looked pretty good, but she said didn't have a lot of flavor... sad for a sandwich that should be packed with strongly flavor items... sauerkraut, Russian dressing, Swiss cheese and corned beef... but it didn't have that flavor profile you'd expect ... So, we got an average lunch, nothing inedible, but nothing fantastic either...

Very average place. Food is okay. We had the corned beef soup. They did not cook the flour down enough. We also had the fish fry. Which was bland. Don't think I'd make an effort to come back.

Waitress seemed rush, and we had to wait for refills on coffee. But the food was really good.

    Spanakopita with Greek Salad Combo

I was craving Spanakopita yesterday and hadn't tried Olympic's before for this so thought I would. I was expecting what I've had at Natalies on Millersport - I didn't get that. The filling was dry and the phyllo dough overcooked. The Greek salad wasn't anything special and the dressing is just meh. I will stick with the Pitaomlette in the future at Olympic - those are usually good.

Who's hungry and on a budget? If you answered yes to both, then this may be the place for you. That is, if you are willing to face this awful intersection and parking lot to get some grub. It's a Friday night and my cohort agreed to what we equated to diner eating, despite being officially labeled a restaurant. Walking in, we immediately noticed a tower of desserts that I imagine was there to fuel our appetites. It did catch our attention until the hostess called out, leading us to a booth for two. The perky waitress arrived pretty much immediately, asking for our drink orders. We both got waters that come in far too short cups with bendy straws and ice, no fancy lemons (which is fine by me, less potential germs). I had already poured over the menu at home and was still making final decisions at the table. A lot of their offerings are things you can find most anywhere, though there are some different choices, like the spanikopita I was tempted to chose, one of their small listing of greek specialties. I considered an omelette, and almost did when I saw that you can substitute your side, as most places force home fries. But then, I found the one thing that I still struggle to pronounce, but don't struggle to eat. God bless the mind behind the Pitamalette. I am a sucker for eggs, and I'm a sucker for pitas. To be served both at the same time, count me in. You can add on home fries, which I opted out of, as I've been eating my way through a five pound bag of potatoes all week and am kind of sick of them. I went for the mushroom and cheese variety (the waitress said I could pretty much pick any of the omelettes listed for my wrap) and was presented with a sizable plate of food. The pita was warm and puffy, which is a bread lover's wet dream. The egg was cooked well, not rubbery nor under. I appreciated how the mushrooms seemed to be stripped, and although the cheese definitely tasted american, it harkened back to old school diner food that didn't need to be fancy, at least not at the price they were offering, a mere ten dollars! I personally chose to eat with a fork and knife, though it came wrapped in foil so you could go burrito style if you so chose. My cohort ordered off the printed menu, deciding on the fried clam dinner. Her roll (too hot to tear in half along the precut line) came first with two packets of butter and a cup of coleslaw that she remarked was quite enjoyable. The rest of her meal came very shortly after (the wait time for a weekend night is remarkably quick) and she was less excited. The kitchen had sent fries instead of home fries, which was easily fixed, at no additional cost. I stole a few off her plate that had cooled down sooner than I had expected. Perhaps she should have stuck with them instead of requesting the missing home fries, as they were the worst part of her meal. Chunks of potato instead of diced cube (which we acknowledge is up to interpretation) with not much char and no seasoning, not that she could taste until she added amply from the table shakers. The majority of her potatoes remained untouched and didn't even make it into the offered to go box. The potato salad, however, was cleaned off her plate with zeal, a buttery yellow smear left behind. The supposed star of the plate, the fried clams were neither divine nor abysmal, merely on par with what she said was a frozen clam dinner. Maybe she'd be better off returning to her usual salad, as she says there they do not usually disappoint. The food is the best prices you'll probably find in today's inflated world, as long as you're not looking for your socks to be knocked off. Which is probably a good thing, as you're in a public restaurant and you should keep your feet covered. The floor did squeak beneath my feet, and the overly clean smell of the bathroom made me glad I waited until I was done eating to use it, but this is a place you go to be fed, not to dine. It passes, and I'm compelled to try to replicate that pita that I still can't pronounce, but I'm not risking that cluster of traffic to rush back.

Good food and fast service! We came in for a couple of salads and they were HUGE, which was a delight. Definitely two meals worth at least. Waitress was super friendly too. The coffee honestly wasn't for me but maybe it was just a bad batch or some people might like it like that! Definitely a good spot for a quick meal.

Sometimes you need a fall back to options that don't work out. In the times we live in we all need back up dining locations just in case our first choices don't work out. And, that's what THE OLYMPIC continues to be for us! The perfect pinch hitter that always hits a home run when you need to score a great meal!! Breakfasts are incredible treats and yes, sometimes through the years I have been smart enough to start the day with the OLYMPIC as the first choice. It is a classic diner offering an extensive Greek leaning menu. The wait staff successfully meets all of the stereotypical standards from uniform to keeping your coffee cup filled! This week I tried their Chicken Souvlaki PitaMellette and believe me I could eat one of these everyday. The delicious flavors of a Greek Souvlaki within an omelet and a pita It was oh so good! The home fries crispy as requested but not burnt with a good flavor amazing texture just yum! My brother went for a more classic breakfast with pancakes bacon and eggs and he just loved his pancakes. Our waitress was fantastic although I wish she had worn a mask. In fact I wish the entire staff was wearing masks and these days of covid-19. Actually I wish 90% of the people eating had masks but my brother and I showed love for all as we wore our mask into and out of the restaurant. If you live in Buffalo you need to make sure the Olympic is in your breakfast and lunch and dinner lineup especially if you're trying to figure out where to go this is always a great choice!

The prices on the menu do not reflect what you are charged. Spent $45 on below average breakfast food for two people and a child.

I also like the fact you can dine in or even do takeout. Today I decided on takeout.. the serving sizes are very decent, and the prices are more than fair. I strongly recommend checking them out. Breakfast sandwich- choice of bacon or sausage. Really nice satisfying sandwich. I really like the type of roll that was used. Plus the sandwich wasn't greasy or sloppy at all. Breakfast bowl- For me, I was able to share with my wife. The to-go container was pack. Every bite full had meat, cheese potatoes, and eggs. The ingredient ratio was spot on. You didn't have to much of this and not enough of that. Chicken and waffle- breast was moist and seasoned well for my liking. I loved the waffle flavor. Whatever waffle mix they are using.
