Shocked and disappointed to learn that Jon sold this business. My brother and I have regularly supported Olympic Brewing Supplies since the 90's when Jon's father in law Bill started it. We could have more easily bought our brewing supplies on-line or in Seattle but we chose to drive to Bremerton to consult with and support Bill, then Jon. We also enjoyed chatting with and getting brewing advice from the exceptional and longtime employee, Sean. They are no longing stocking whole hops, only pellets. New manager seems ok but she's not a beer brewer and somehow, that's just seems wrong. I also understood they'll be adding a taproom? Me thinks the turpentine/Pliny IPA hipsters may have arrived in East Bremerton. read more

Have been going there for years now. They always have everything I need or are able to sub adequately. Extremely knowledgeable. I recently purchased everything I needed to brew a Belgium Tripel and on brew day my yeast didn't activate properly. Contacted Jon, the new owner. I wasn't able to get to the store during their regular hours so he met me after hours with a replacement yeast pack. Above and beyond! Saved my batch of beer. Thanks Jon! read more

Been brewing now for a couple of years and still enjoying it all because of Bill and Sean. Since day one, they continue to teach me (and lecture me about my lack of listening skills). I literally have their number on my speed dial - because they always have the time to listen and figure out my problem. Made a cider or two, and root beer numerous of times, for those of you who don't like beer. Haven't tried the wine, but eventually I will take that leap as well. This shop is fantastic! They have eeeverything you need to brew and/or ferment almost anything: beer, wine, cider, kombucha, what have you. They have a good selection of malt they'll grind for you, and even whipped up a wort chiller for us in a few minutes. The employees are friendly and very helpful. We took a free intro to beer brewing class here which was informative. Their prices are extremely reasonable. This place is a gem and I'm glad it's nearby for our homebrewing needs. read more

I got started brewing by going to Olympic Brewing. Every question was answered, and while I had a few times where I thought the staff was a bit off, they are WAY BETTER than my brew store here in HI. I still call Olympic Brewing for advice and tips because the only gig in town here on Oahu has only one clerk and he is a real Dick! If anyone has doubts about Olympic Brewing, read my review of "Homebrew in Paradise" for Honolulu. If Olympic Brewing shipped to HI, I would gladly wait the time and pay the extra price. I serve up very few 5 star reviews but these guys deserve every star! I've been there threee times now and the service was outstanding every time. I have zero experience brewing anything except for coffee and these guys were amazingly helpful. I have three different things brewing now and have even called them with a question and they treated me as well on the phone (not spending money) as they did when I was in person (spending money). That says something to me about their willingness to make sure that I have a good experience (and spend more money in the future). I hope everything turns out well as it was actually kinda fun going through the process. read more

Writing this on behalf of my boyfriend, who was very impressed. We stopped in for a replacement CO2 tank for a certain someone who loves fizzy water. The fella who I might assume owns the shop was considerate, friendly, and smart. He helped us with a tool no problem and was fast and courteous. "This is what I like about Bremerton - an honest guy like that, home brewer, takes care of his family and is good to his customers." This place is awesome! The people are friendly, helpful, fun, and they really know brewing. I bought the cheapest kit I could a while back and enjoyed it enough that I went back for the free beer making class. It was a great way to learn about beer making. The staff answered all our questions. We asked about hops, odd flavors, exploding bottles and probably a lot of things newbies usually ask. They answered with knowledge, humor, and a desire to share the art of beer making. Great place. read more

I am super new to brewing and I went in with a list of things I needed for a recipe I wanted to try. They were super helpful, answered all of my questions and were not condescending AT ALL like another reviewer said. Super friendly and laid back. Helped me troubleshoot a batch that didn't turn out super great. They also offered to try a sample of my beer to help pinpoint what the problem might be. Their prices were fair and they had a great selection. Also, I was a little worried because I had my two little ones with me and sometimes store clerks get annoyed with kids. They seemed totally chill about it (granted my girls did behave this time :) I'll definitely be back! read more

This is a great brew supplies store. Having been brewing with my family since I was a very young child, I have many brew shops to compare it too. The shop is clean, they have a great supplies of equipment for BIAB, Extract, and All Grain. They also offer classes. The folks at Olympic Brewing Supplies have been great, had the ingredients and supplies I needed, and have good prices. The Kitsap Peninsula is lucky to have such a great shop. read more

I went to Olympic today for the first time and was very impressed. Awesome selection, great prices, and very helpful staff...not sure what the one star guy was talking about. I'm a total brewing noob, and am lost with a million stupid questions...no problem at Olympic. The staff took my list and ran about getting everything I needed. No pressure, just very patient and helpful. Looking forward to their free all-grain class coming up. I'll be back for sure. read more

What an awesome store for a beginner beer brewer like me ( and Pro's I'm sure). They have very good and affordable equipment, enough to encourage you to start the project, and well stocked brew supplies. They looked at one of my recipes and pulled all the ingredients in it. The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable and offers his assistance even after the purchase of supplies ! They have free beer brewing classes, 2 of them in May (15th and 29th), that are very helpful for "new to the process" folks like me ! Great outfit. read more

These folks have been very helpful whenever I have called as I am fairly new to winemaking so I obviously have much to learn and do a lot of online research as well. I'd give 5 stars but your website could use an overhaul. Now that we are in this crazy pandemic and one can't just come look around the store and ask questions I would recommend you consider improving your website to include a search option to make perusing the site more simplified as well as adding photos to the items. Your website is very basic at best and frustrating when trying to search for something. I don't always have the convenience of calling the store when I have a question about an item so photos would certainly be helpful and would also make it comparable to other websites in the industry. It would be great to make purchases online for curbside pick up instead of having to email and/or call. I look forward to when your store is again open for customers. read more

The prices here are the best I've found in Washington. They have a great selection of whole leaf hops. The employees are always friendly and helpful and never pretentious as you find in some stores. I can send my wife (who knows nothing about brewing) with a list and know that they will make sure she gets the right stuff. She typically will just hand them the list and they do the rest. Bill is a wealth of knowledge about anything I've asked him. These guys are the best all around. read more
