Though I am a coffee lover, when I visited I ended up getting a matcha instead (oops). I got the flora borealis which is matcha, lemonade, lavender, and pear. It was outstanding! So refreshing and light, not too sweet either. The lemon poppyseed scone was also delicious. Employees were all incredibly friendly and service was very fast. I saw them mixing up fresh matcha for each order which is always a good sign, and they served "for here" items on actual dish ware and in glasses which is great. This location is small but is very cute and cozy. Nice and calm vibes inside with big windows and natural light. The tables aren't really designed for you to sit for a long time, they're small and not very cushy. It's a great spot to grab a to go coffee or just stop for a brief break while around the area. I will definitely be back to actually get the coffee this time. But if you're there for tea or matcha, it's a hit! read more

I don't live in Tacoma, but the last few times I've been down here. I made it a point to get coffee here! Every time I do, I always grab a bag to go. Love their light roast coffee beans. Also love that they have pour overs and vegan baked goods. Not surprisingly that they get busy on the weekends. Indoor seating. And the ambience is bright lots of windows lots of tables. Olympia Coffee is a cute shop in Tacoma's Proctor district. Despite being a smaller shop, there's plenty of seating and they always seem to be bustling. As a non-coffee drinker, it's nice to find shops with a selection of non-coffee options. I liked their London Fog last time, but their current Houji-coco is exceptional! I was impressed by the strong hojicha flavor and my only regret is not getting a larger size. Parking is limited as it's a relatively busy area with street parking only. read more

I've taken a few friends here and the coffee is always incredible. I try and get something new every time I go there and have never been disappointed. I always ask the staff what they would recommend and they all have their own favorites which is fun. Seating is a little tight and awkward in some spots but not much you can do about that lol. Cute coffee shop! Came by after doing some shopping in the area. Got the cortado and it was really good. Quality expresso beans and they give you a free shot of sparkling water to wash it down. Also tried the green tea latte and they did a real nice flavor to it. Barista was real friendly and patient with us as we tried to decide what to order. They're always busy (rightfully so), but the service is fast, and we manage to find seats every time. I buy my coffee beans here and grind them at home too. I was around the area and decided to stop by for some coffee. My main purpose was to buy some coffee beans. The coffee shop was small but had ample amount of seatings for people to sit and work. They also have a nice display of coffee merch on the counter. As I was about to pay, I looked at the pastry display which looked very appetizing so I decided to get something. Surprisingly they sell Milkvue donuts so I had to grab one to go with my coffee. Overall, a nice place to grab coffee and to people watch. I see that they have matcha latte on their menu so I thought I'd give them a try. The shop is small and quaint. Workers wear masks, seems friendly. So I got the 8oz matcha latte sub with oat milk. My latte art was booty and so was the drink. I've had better matcha latte in Seattle/Renton area. I wanted to support small coffee shops over Starbucks, but the quality is just not there. I did not mind paying more for some quality crafted latte, but this shop is just disappointing to say the least. Maybe their coffee might be better than their tea! Ironically, there's a Starbucks right across the street. However, I really wanted to try the local coffee. I loved that they served out espressos and macchiatos with sparkling water. I've never encountered this before until today. However, my friend said that this is actually common in Europe. It appears as though the local college kids hang out at this coffee shop. I thought my espresso was a little bitter so I'd recommend what my friend got which is the macchiato. I really liked the ambiance which was quite conducive for enjoying your coffee either inside or outside. They also have a dedicated station for pour over coffees which is also a nice touch if you are looking for freshly brewed coffee. read more

Coffee enthusiast from the east coast here. This looked like a trusted stop while I was in the area, and I wasn't disappointed. I got an iced haupia latte with oat milk. It was the most expensive coffee I've bought in a long time - a few cents shy of $7. The oat milk was $0.80 to sub. It was delicious, obviously a high quality roast. The haupia flavor simply tasted like coconut. Would I pay that much again? Nope, but it was a good pick-me-up after a redeye flight earlier in the day. read more
