The service was excellent. Most of the food was really good (the crab cake was real crab and not bread crumbs, the spiced shrimp was delicious...). Some good was good or okay (the "old bay" fries were just good fries but not seasoned, the potato skins were heavy on cheese but not flavorful...). Prices a bit steep, but not ridiculous. Big issue -- check the latest health code situation as this place has had many recurring sanitation issues.

This is a classic go to place in olney for a quality meal that's just a little fancy. Good for a date night, celebrating an occasion, or just having an evening dinner. There is a dining room with tables, booths, and bar seating. This place is basically an institution it's been here that long. If I am in the mood for a nice burger or a steak, I'll come here. The bar has televisions usually playing sports. There's bathrooms in the back near the kitchen. You don't need a reservation but I always suggest you make one. This place gets really busy on a Friday and Saturday night. The food is delicious and I've frequented here more times than I can count. The price range is $$. The staff are friendly and there is good service. I really enjoy coming here. The menu is more succinct and doesn't change that often. They do have a daily specials menu that changes. It is a great place to all ages, families, party sizes. It has that home town local dinner spot vibe. My food is always delicious, I definitely recommend coming here. There is parking in the shopping center and a small lot in the back. You can order to go, you pick up and pay at the bar. You can also order through food delivery services.

I was invited to a birthday dinner at the Olney Grille. I was a little hesitant because I had not heard about the restaurant in years. But, I am glad I went. It was packed with diners on a Saturday night and the wait staff was on top of it. We had a party of ten and the waiter got the table drinks and warm bread right away. They had all of the orders out at the same time and everyone seemed pleased. The huge hits of the evening were the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy. I have never seen a plate wiped cleaner in a shorter amount of time. My friend scarfed the meatloaf and mashed potatoes down and was really happy with his dish. It looked homemade. I had the steak salad and it was delicious. There were many grilled vegetables and a fair amount of tender steak. I really enjoyed my meal and would order it again. The birthday boy ordered pork chops and he loved his meal. My only hiccup was that I asked the waiter for a separate check in the beginning of our order. When, we were getting ready to leave he said that they didn't do separate checks. Then, he said that he didn't want everybody else in my party to ask for separate checks. I thought that was not honest and he shouldn't have waited till the end of the meal to let me know that. So, the food was good and the service was good, but clear any requests with management or you might get a surprise at the end of your evening, as I did. I would go back again and ask for a different server. An oldie can be a goodie, even with restaurants.

First time here, we were not set out for The Olney Grille, in fact we were heading for Gettysberg and the weather turned bad so we decided to exit and just googled restaurant near me. First impression in the door was quaint, the place is clean, very roomy and nicely decorated. Service was great, our server "Brain" was very nice and attentive. Pros: Clean restaurant Friendly staff Nice menu options Nicely priced Cons Food could have been hotter Food Choices were bland. The menu was nice with good choices and variety, I ordered The BBQ Ribs and my wife ordered The Chicken Penne Pasta (Both Pictured). We were given warm dinner rolls while we waited which were very good. Our food came out very fast which suprised my considering my food was warm but not hot. The Ribs were fall off the bone but the sauce was not very good or maybe needed more of it, I've had much better ribs out than these. The side of Cole Slaw that came with was ok, creamy and sweet the way I like it, also came with a side of fresh hot veggies that were nicely done and crisp. I also got a side of Onion Rings with a side of creamy pepper sauce with was very good. My wife ordered The Penne Chicken which looked good but we both agreed that it lacked flavor, nothing special. All in all, we will come back just eager to try something different.

In the bowl were also some chopped sweet peppers. I am surprised that I was not given a spoon so I can slurp up the broth. I ordered the Dr. Bird burger for my entree. The beef was tasty and perfectly done to the temp that I like. The fries were typical and totally fine. Service was a little lacking in some areas. I had to ask for a spoon for the bowl of mussels. We had to ask for more water. Since we noticed that the servers came around to other tables (mostly to clear empty plates), we thought it was okay to ask a nearby server (who was not our original server) for more water. She didn't seem happy about it because she let out a sigh and didn't say a word. She did come back with a carafe of water and left it on the table. And while she was there, we asked for more ketchup because the bottle on our table was empty. She came back with a full bottle but again, did not say a word even after we thanked her both for the water and for the ketchup. Noise level: Loud. Must speak with raised voices in outside patio when all the tables are occupied with diners. There is a TV screen but that was muted. 80's music (which I love) was playing. Parking: Somewhat adequate. We got the last spot so not sure where we would have parked if it was full.

The hostess seemed to avoid eye contact for about five minutes even though we were standing right in front of her. It felt a little like we had shown up too early for a surprise party that was clearly not for us. Once we were seated, everything improved. Our waitress, Paige, was attentive, thoughtful, and made the experience feel genuinely warm. We started with the mussels, which were exceptional; meaty, creamy, and delicious, with bread good enough to make restraint feel optional. We also had the mini Paloma oyster shooters, which were fun and memorable. I ordered a seasonal cocktail with very little simple syrup, since I usually do not like sweet drinks, and they got it exactly right, which is rarer than it should be. For the main course, we had the seasonal surf and turf special, an 8 oz filet mignon with crab meat over asparagus and succotash. The crust on the steak was excellent, the vegetables were perfectly seasoned, and the filet was cooked exactly as ordered. We finished with their newer take on key lime pie, which was very good and nicely balanced; not too sweet, not too tart. We spent just under $100 per person, so this is not an inexpensive night out. That said, the food quality and service largely justify the price. Overall, aside from the awkward start at the hostess stand, this was an excellent first visit. We spent just under $100 per person, so GrillMarX is not playing in the bargain bin, but the food and service were strong enough that we would absolutely come back

The biggest issue across the board was the food--everything tasted bland. There was a noticeable lack of seasoning, and most dishes ended up tasting the same. I started with a Caesar salad, which was unusual with added tomatoes and other vegetables you don't typically see. While it was fine, it lacked flavor. For the main course, all four of us ordered pasta, and again, the same issue--very little taste. No one offered fresh Parmesan, which is something you'd normally expect with a pasta dish. Halfway through my meal, trying to improve the flavor, I asked for some Parmesan. I was genuinely surprised when the server told me it would cost an extra $1. It wasn't about the dollar--it was the principle. Charging extra for something as basic as Parmesan with pasta felt unreasonable. When we raised the concern, the manager confirmed this policy came directly from the owner. My advice: just include it in the price of the dish. Policies like that leave a bad impression and cost you repeat customers. Between the bland food and that moment, the experience turned from disappointing to frustrating. Sadly, this isn't a place we'll be returning to--and it's one we'll be warning others about.

He rushed us to order, made us uncomfortable when we were deciding what to order, and asked us if we wanted the house made bread. I knew the bread was $5 but he made no mention of it. If I was coming to eat there and was asked if I wanted bread and didn't know there was a charge, I would be upset. It was kind of deceiving, and when the bill came out, shoved the handheld device to pay in my face and I couldn't go over the bill. He told me to put my phone here when paying and that was that. The bill was incorrect and I had to get a manager to fix it (the manger was very friendly and took care of everything). I also have an issue when a server asks us how the food is, right when the food gets put down on the table. We hadn't even had a chance to take a bite. Now, why I gave this place a five star. Like I said before, the ambiance was amazing, if we had a different server, I'm sure it would had been great! The food: it' was top notch. Some of the best food in Maryland. I wouldn't had changed anything with the food. Everything was seasoned perfectly, had the right textures, and tasted so good! Would I go back? Absolutely!

There's a warmth and character to the space that a strip mall lunch spot simply can't manufacture. The cashier was friendly and efficient, the food came out remarkably fast, and the whole experience had the easy, unpretentious energy of a place that's been doing this right for a long time. Three of us ate, and all three sandwiches landed. I ordered the Ham Slam -- honey baked ham piled high with melted cheddar on toasted white bread, finished with mango chutney. That chutney is the move. The sweetness of the mango against the saltiness of the ham creates exactly the kind of sweet-and-savory balance that elevates a sandwich from good to genuinely memorable. My friend went with The Hottie -- sliced roasted turkey warmed with brie, garlic mayo, cranberry sauce, and fresh spinach on a toasted baguette. Also exceptional. The brie was the right call against the turkey, and the cranberry sauce made sense thematically -- though we agreed that a raspberry or slightly sweeter sauce might give it an even more interesting edge. Still, a delicious sandwich by any measure. The third at our table had The Great Albert Reuben -- hot pastrami, homemade sauerkraut, and Swiss on toasted marble rye with homemade Russian dressing. Hard to argue with that. We finished with a lemon bar for dessert and it was exactly what a lemon bar should be -- perfectly textured, bright citrus, the right balance of sweet and tart. A clean, satisfying finish. My only note: the space would benefit from some background music. The historical charm carries the atmosphere well, but a little ambient sound would round out the experience. A minor observation in an otherwise excellent lunch. Sisters is the kind of neighborhood spot that deserves far more recognition than it gets. Creative, flavorful sandwiches built with real ingredients, served fast, in a genuinely unique setting. Don't sleep on it.

There are a couple of seats downstairs and a bit more seating upstairs. My wife ordered a plain bagel, toasted, with lox cream cheese. It was toasted well and the flavor of the spread was good, though we both agreed we wish it had been actual lox with regular cream cheese rather than just a flavored spread. I ordered the pancakes with a side of bacon. Let me start with the bacon: I thoroughly enjoyed it. People always ask, "How can someone mess up bacon?" Trust me, I've had messed up bacon before! But this was cooked perfectly. The pancakes, on the other hand, were a letdown. Given the homemade, historic cafe vibe, I was expecting a customized, from-scratch mix. Instead, they were incredibly generic--they actually tasted exactly like McDonald's pancakes. I was hungry, so I ate them, but they weren't what I expected. Since they were listed towards the top of the chalkboard menu, I had high hopes based on menu placement! LOL. I probably should have gone with a breakfast sandwich instead. Overall, it's a cute spot, but I definitely wouldn't go back for the pancakes.
