The ambience is great! Service is fast and friendly. The sights throughout the restaurant from the train tracks, and all the railroad cars to the lanterns, model airplanes from all eras make for wonderful scenery. We were there real early on a Sunday morning so the crowd was light. We chose the Buffay and the Buffay selection was adequate and full of morning comfort food. Flavor of all items was very good. I say all items because I just had to go back. Lol. We will be going back to try the menu. A friend of mine wanted to get together and visit so we decided to have breakfast here. When you walk in you are greeted with a warm inviting atmosphere. With toy train sets and train models along with planes decorating the ceiling. It wasn't crowded at all but was a little loud with the toy trains moving around the restaurant. We decided to try out the buffet. The buffet had a wide variety from regular scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns etc. The food for being a buffet was quite good. It was a nice flavor and you could tell that it was fresh. The staff was friendly and the tables around us were clean and free of debris. I used to live in Tulsa, and brought my boys here when they were tiny. It was always a great experience and the food was good. Sort of an iconic spot for my family. During my visit today, the food was great, but the the kitchen staff and service people engaged in dysfunctional communication the whole time. The person in charge of the kitchen couldn't communicate with one of his staff, who apparently didn't speak the language, so he berated everyone around her loudly so that the restaurant could hear it. He demanded that her mom, who is a waitress, come back to speak with her, but then proceeded to yell at the mom to get out of the way. Eventually, he made the cook cry and she left for awhile. Way to go big man. Assuming since you run the kitchen, you're the one that hired her, so it's your own fault. One of the waitresses was moving quickly and trying to do a lot, but she was blatantly rude to the other waitress and one of the cooks, telling him to get out of her way. I get that frustrations happen, but being rude to people reflects on the ones in charge, not their subordinates. And I don't like bullies. I'll be back, because of the special place this establishment has in my heart, but today was not okay, to put it mildly. Very disappointed. read more

Like other reviewers stated: service was horrible. The cashier/host was very unpleasant and not the best first impression of Oklahoma. This is an iconic spot on old route 66. Having been here for decades it's stood the test of time and still delivers great country style food in a quirky and unique setting. This spot is all about model trains and there is no shortage of them on display! This makes it a great spot to bring in my 3 year old daughter. She LOVES to see them go by while dining! Where this is an older spot and hasn't been updated much it kind of lends to the coolness of what it is. Where I'm only 36 I enjoy the nostalgia that Ollie's offers. Mind you there is nothing fancy at all about this spot but if you know that going in, it helps add to the vibe. The service I've had here is great. All of the servers and hostesses or counter help has always made me feel like a local (which I am) but a regular (I am not). Glasses of water or tea or coffee almost never run empty and they often come by and check to make sure all is well. I do enjoy the fact that offer a small buffet! Great country options available in an all you can eat fashion. I rarely go with this option but on occasion I like it for breakfast on the weekend. Otherwise they have a good selection of solid country fair and I've yet to have anything I didn't like. So if you're passing through on the mother road or local to Oklahoma and haven't stopped in yet, I highly recommend adding Ollie's to your list of new destinations to try out! read more

Let me start with the good news...great atmosphere, haven for train lovers and friendly staff. The pros ends there. I never been to a restaurant that does not use their kitchen to cook or does not have a cook preparing the food. Let me explain. Either everything is prepackaged and just heated up barely or the cook lost all their taste buds and can't either season the food. For crying out loud at least add salt and pepper. The fettuccine Alfredo was watery, tasteless with soggy pasta, boiled frozen "grilled" Chicken. When hungry teenagers leaves their pasta intact, it tells you the food must be worse than prison food. The tomato soup I could swear was Campbell's tomato soup...yuck! Even the pancakes were so bland and dry. How can this be? As for me, the burger was disappointing from the lackluster beef to the water salted fries. It left me with the impression that Tulsa does not have any "taste." My kids tried my burger and thought a gross McDonald's burger is ions better than what we experience. My recommendation is to improve the cooking of the food, pairing that with its awesome ambiance would make Ollie's the Route 66 place to be. read more

The atmosphere of this restaurant is train centric. And true to form, the service and food are nothing short of a train wreck. The good: n/a The bad: This place was dirty and the food was gross. I've eaten at some sketchy places but I was legitimately afraid to eat my meal. I ordered chicken strips, mashed potatoes, and onion rings. The chicken strips were frozen and not fresh. The mashed potatoes looked like they had been sitting out all day (pic posted) and were lumpy and crusty. The onion rings however weren't crusty, but were a soggy, oily mess. Worst of all: I saw two employees, the cook and the food preparer touch my food with their bare hands. Then I saw the girl cleaning the salad bar drop shredded cheese all over her bare hands and put it right back in the salad bar. Yuck. I really question the food safety record of this place. No muss, no fuss down-home cooking. Nearly everything is fried or has a fried component, but hey why not? The chicken fried chicken with gravy was very tasty and felt about as fresh as it could have been given the dish. The kids scarfed down their burgers and gave them glowing reviews. One in our party ordered the chef's salad. The salad clearly isn't a specialty. It was huge, and piled with sliced cheese and ham, but not particularly fresh or tasty. Although we were seated right away, we didn't see a waitress for a LONG time. When she did arrive, she was crazy! For about 8 months of my TV was consumed with my son's obsession with the Mother goose club show. While I was slowly driven insane by repeated viewings, my child developed a strong connection to trains. Therefore it was a blast to expose to Ollie's and see him get excited every time a train went by overhead. Even better an actual train was going by on the actual tracks outside when we were entering and leaving. It's been years since I've been here. They offer the standard home comfort food for lunch. We took the opportunity to try breakfast. You can order off the menu or opt for the buffet. Buffet was offering grits, home fries, hash browns, sausage and cheese quesadillas, waffles, french toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs, eggs with sausage and peppers, and of course bacon, sausage and ham. There was also some canned peaches, melon and occasionally some grapefruit halves. Service was friendly and fast. Not busy at all on a Sunday. Buffet is small so the offerings are being constantly replaced, so you don't have to worry about old and cold eggs. My spouse and I came here for breakfast/lunch this past Saturday (10-7-20). The buffet trays were empty, along with food scattered all about. There was some bacon on the bar, but it was undercooked and removed. I asked our waitress if it was okay to get something from the salad bar. The salad bar was not quite ready yet and they were out of 1000 island dressing. I asked if they had some more in the back by chance, and our waitress said they were out. At that point I was pretty much done, due to the large lack of items out. Our waitress then informed us that the owner was making the dressing. I asked the waitress how he was supposed to make more dressing after she had informed us that they were out of certain items to make it. The waitress agreed and went to speak with the owner. We witnessed the owner arguing with our waitress and being overbearing towards her. She came back to our table shortly thereafter with some concoction the owner had come up with. It tasted nothing like 1000 island dressing, but it was apparently good enough for him. This was pretty much tarter sauce and the owner had no clue what-so-ever what he was doing. Instead of being a professional, he decided that him being "right" was more important than the opinions of "paying" customers. Also, the blatant disrespect of his own staff that everyone could witness. This restaurant is a complete joke mainly due to the owner's behavior. We observed him joking around with people while his staff were obviously backed up and needing him to step in. Our waitress did her best and apologized numerous times for the situation. The one good thing about this experience is the fact that we don't have to return. There are far more better establishments in Tulsa that actually want your business. Then again, if you want to watch a baffoon showing off his tattoos, walking around in combat boots, playing restaurant owner, this may just be the place for you...but I digress. read more

Our first time here and enjoyed all the railroad memorabilia and model trains (turned on when kids were there) running overhead. Although there were a lot (30?) of nice big motorcycles in their parking lot, there was still plenty of open seating in the nice restaurant. We were promptly seated and given menus and ordered iced tea. I noticed they had a buffet too. I decided on the buffet. Upon my return to the table, the food server had not taken my wife's order and there was no silverware or napkins. We had to ask for both when she finally arrived to take her order. The buffet was good and my wife enjoyed her sandwich. The service was spotty and that cannot be blamed on the motorcyclists seated at the back of the restaurant where most had the buffet and were finishing up. Got to admit, I'm surprised at some of the comments, but they're from awhile ago, so maybe things have improved. Me and mine think the food is stellar! We wouldn't order the breakfast off the menu again, but the lunch buffet is what it's all about. The soups seem home-made, the fried chicken is dang close to grandma's and everything else on the line has that "made from actual ingredients by a real human being" touch. The service isn't that big of a deal when you hit the buffet, so I don't really know if that's still a problem. Ollie's Station is one of those places you wish was located just down the street and around the corner. Many moons ago, there existed a dining heaven called The Metro Diner, located on 11th, by Tulsa University. As with most wonderful things, it eventually ceased to be, much to the detriment of Tulsa as a whole. Our children literally thought eating breakfast was done at Metro. Some some time back, on my first visit to Ollie's I thought a few of the faces looked familiar, and lo and behold... I was correct. The owners and a few of the Metro-ites were now Ollie-ites. So, I told you all that to tell you all this..... The food is solid. As solid as it gets. It's classic diner food done well. The pedigree is there and evident. To date, I've had several of their menu offerings, ranging from breakfast omelets, to sandwiches (oh, that Hot Ollie.... ), to buffet trips after church. Now, to put that into perspective... Ollie's is in west Tulsa, on Southwest Boulevard. I'm in Owasso.... that's a distance of about 'too far for food that's not good'.... so the fact that we make the trip should tell you how much I like Ollie's. There's no shortage of diners in my general area of operation, so to make the trip to Ollie's means it's worth it in my book. Most recently we dropped in after the Color Run for a fast brunch. Lots of other color runners had that same idea, as the place was fairly busy with people sporting a variety of colors and hues. That particular visit I opted for the Club Sandwich, and it was spectacular. Just some chips on the side, as I didn't want to totally undermine that gruelling 3k. As others have mentioned, the trains are a really nice touch as they make their way around the restaurant on overhead tracks. Service is always good, atmosphere is always friendly and warm, and the food has never disappointed. Those are the hallmarks of a great place to eat. Definitely a come as you are place, no need to stand on ceremony and put on the Sunday duds, unless you're coming in after church. Ollie's is definitely a standout place to eat. read more
