I had been wearing the same Ray ban glasses for over 4 years - definitely time for a change! My…read moreprescription is medium high, and turns out I'm SUPER picky so the experience looking for new glasses became similar to when I searched for a wedding dress -- way too long, eventually hating everything, stressful and the budget went out the window in a desperate attempt to actually find something I liked! The worst part was every store I went to had awful customer service or literally not a single thing I wanted. I was desperate and worried I'd never get new glasses. Eight months into my search I finally found 312. First impression was good - Andrew, the owner, was helping other customers but still greeted us with a "hello", more than I could say for some other stores. The products are way more artistic and beautiful than run of the mill, and he helped identify what I liked and didn't, and was patient with me as I ended up coming in over 5 times to try things on!! Customer service never wavered and he was always honest and up front if something didn't look right or if he thought I'd regret it. Icing on the cake was a trunk sale with all the colours of Andy Wolf glasses, so I could see what they all looked like - that including Prosecco and Lindt chocolate! My glasses were expensive but so were many I looked at that were less impressive. Thanks to Andrew for his patience and he definitely made a lifetime customer out of me! I'd even go there for eye exams because the atmosphere is so welcoming and chill.

I would never go else where, he is the best. Thanks.

I recommend this place for children's glasses. I bought my daughter's Lindberg glasses here…read morebecause her paediatric ophthalmologist recommended this store for their extensive experience with children. They have a location within Sick Kids Hospital. Her prescription of +9 for each eye is so strong we needed very light titanium frames to compensate for the heavy lenses. We did some shopping around and not a lot of places offered a 2 year guarantee but College Optical did (for the Lindberg frames that I bought, I'm not sure about other brands). She's 5 years old so naturally she broke them after 18 months of getting them. The titanium wire along the top broke and they replaced it with a new wire for free. Not the entire frame was replaced, but it's certainly better than having to buy a new set of frames. It was inconvenient waiting over a week for the new part as it was coming from Denmark and my daughter can't see without glasses so I decided to get her a back up pair for future mishaps and did some more shopping around. Another store was selling the exact same frames and lens for $350 more! I will stick with College Street Optical in the future. The service was excellent, owners and staff are friendly and wonderful to deal with but the clincher for me are the prices.

Arrived 10 mins earlier than my appointment to fill up a form and for the staff/receptionist perform a preliminary test on my eyes. I had to buy my prescription glasses from another optical shop but had an issue since I opted for a progressive lenses and the reading prescription is somewhat incorrect. Ended up getting my eyeglasses for more than two weeks and you need to call them yourself. Yes they're cheap and affordable but the basic frames are on the thinner side.
