I don't know what's taken me so long to write this review but I got married here and, other than my husband, is the best decision I made that day! The experience was amazing from beginning to end. They're incredibly organized, have great food options (no dry wedding chicken!), and even helped add all my crazy bride touches without complaining. The night was absolutely perfect, and we still get compliments three years later on how great the experience was. The fire pits were such a nice perk for our guests, and the fact that they have an Airbnb next door where you can stay on your wedding night without having to drag your butt home is another one of their thoughtful amenities. This place is a well-oiled machine but still has lots of charm and character. Best of all, it's affordable! If you're looking for a great wedding venue, there's no better place than Olivia/La Verona. I am visiting family in St. Louis and have been to Oliva's a handful of times now. I can truly say I love love this place! They have very limited hours and really only do lunch and events/parties (outside those hours). They share a parking lot with an antique store so it can get crowded and busy. But there is also street parking. When you enter in they have a separate area where you place your order that also is a giftshop with kitchen knick knacks etc. Its super cute! They are very friendly and can answer any questions about the menu and also do modifications. The menu is lunch focused- sandwiches, salads, etc. You get a table number after you order and seat yourself. They have an outdoor seating area in addition to an indoor one which is across from the firepit area. Both are lovely! This time we choose to sit outside. I got the chicken and cherry salad (with all romaine no arugula) and my friend got the Turkey BLT minus guacamole. The sandwich comes with waffle sweet potato fries and a side of dipping sauce. The food is so fresh and always delicious! I have also had the meatball sandwich and that is amazing. The day we went it was really crowded so they took a bit longer than normal to get all the food out, which is understandable. Highly recommend this place! Overall experience 5/5 read more

Super cute little spot tucked away on The Hill. Hidden/connected to The Hill Antique Market, Oliva is the perfect spot for a lunch date. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. We sat on the covered patio on a slightly rainy day, they have umbrellas and plenty of greenery that kept us dry. We ordered inside and were given a number, our wait time wasn't very long, would have even enjoyed hanging out longer given the great surroundings. You order as you walk in and after you enter this beautiful patio with an arbor draped with wisteria. It is so beautiful! They have wonderful choices for lunch. Great, really fresh salads, quiche, soups. I had a goat cheese cherry salad and I woofed it down. It was so good. They have wine and beer, teas and other drink choices. The menu boasts salads, sandwiches, and flat breads. We ordered the Cesar salad and the Italian sandwich with sweet potato fries made a perfect meal. A glass of rose' for a warm after noon rounded out the menu. You walk through the side door out to the garden. It's absolutely enchanting. Okay WHAT IS THIS PLACE. It's so freaking good! We were looking for a somewhat quick lunch, and this popped up in the area we were in. We were super surprised there's plenty of parking - both a large parking lot and specific street parking. It was so nice since the Hill is usually so packed. You order food in their cute little boutique, they have only a few options but they are all so good! I had the meatball sub and omg so much flavor. My fiancé got the Italian panini and it was also great, the flavor profiles went so well together. They were both served with sweet potato waffle fries with garlic aioli which was honestly just as good as the sandwiches, I could eat them every day. Great lunch spot! Strangiest way to order.....started in dining room... then directed to entrance to gift shop before going back to the dining room for someone else to incorrectly bring out your food. The patio was extremely busy for a Wednesday afternoon! Our food came out extremely fast (within 15 minutes). We ordered the caesar salad and salmon BLT. Both were absolutely delicious! They close for lunch at 2, but open back up for dinner at 5. They also have "wine down Wednesday" with great deals on wine! The tuna sandwich I ordered was on the original bread , not the bread I wanted . the tuna was scarce in volume . The tomato was cut at least 1/2 inch thick and the "standard side " not mentioned on the menu was waffle sweet potato fries .. when i asked the waitress later if that was posted on the menu she didn't know , I asked if there were other sides offered and she said she thought they may substitute a salad ? .. over all experience was not as good as it's had been in the past .. The food is always on point and they mix it up so there are always different items to choose from. It does get pretty busy for wine wednesday so get there early! The patio space is absolutely unmatched, the cutest outdoor space ever. And the inside is just as charming, would be such a cute event space. We needed a new lunch place, I could see the weariness in my lady's eyes. We knew of Oliva from our stops at the awesome antique mall next door. We gave it a try after voting on Election Day. Our menu selections were the chicken and grilled peach salad and the salmon blt. My lady loved her salad stating; "it was light and refreshing, had plenty of goat cheese." I was equally pleased with the salmon blt. The bread was toasted to perfection and the flavors were great. I shared my sweet potato fries with my lady, she loved them. Oliva is a solid lunch spot, great atmosphere for outdoor eating and the musical play list was a solid mix of acoustic folk and indie rock. I totally concur with everyone's reviews about the beautiful patio. Food, underwhelmed. This was my first time going, so perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing. I got the chicken and peaches salad, swapped out feta cheese for the goat cheese. First off, the chicken was all dark meat. I happen to like dark meat OK, but a lot of people don't. I was expecting chicken breast. The dressing was underwhelming to say the least, and the fresh peaches in the salad should have been remarkable since it is height of fresh peach season. I really couldn't say I tasted a specific peach flavor at all! For $12.75 I would've expected a few more croutons or something to that effect. One skinny strip of stale pita bread was put on top. so I'd give the atmosphere 5 stars, food 2 stars , so overall a 3 star rating. read more

What a hidden gem! I went to this restaurant for an engagement party and it was an absolute treasure. The patio - complete with a fire pit - it open and perfect for larger gatherings like ours. This event was during the day but I imagine it's even more cozy and cool at night. The inside is just as trendy, with a lot of open seating, a cozy fire place, and lots of natural light. The service was incredibly friendly and fast, too. They have a small but well curated selection of wines and beers to sip, and the menu looks so good that it's hard to pick just one meal. Thankfully, they have lunch specials which allow you to mix and match sandwiches soups and salads. I chose the chicken and cherries salad, which was HUGE for the affordable price. They were generous with the meat and goat cheese, the greens tasted fresh, and the vinaigrette was light but flavorful. I hope to be back here soon! read more

Went to Wine Down Wednesday. It was fine, nothing special. Parking was down the street, but The Hill is quaint. Showed up at 5:45pm to a patio which was completely full. No problem, they have seating inside. The seating was fine. The food menu was carb/cheese heavy, great if that's what you are hoping for. I ordered the short rib slider and hummus. I was looking forward to eating the meat on the slider but was disappointed that the meat was about .50 oz. The hummus was good, but nothing I'd come back for. Friends of mine ordered the flat bread, the Brie, and the goat cheese. We all shared, which was a nice aspect of the happy hour feel. The brie was lackluster, the flatbread was overly bread, but the goat cheese was pretty good. I don't think I'd come back for another Wine Down Wednesday. Not worth the $13/glass of wine and mediocre appetizers. read more

I was very excited to have lunch at this restaurant, however, I found the atmosphere to be less than what was expected. The setting is very nice and pleasant but the service is lackadaisical and truthfully indifferent. It's just though they don't want you to be there. We tried to order food before the 2 o'clock cut off and it was before that time, but they refused to take her order. So they had cleaned up the place 20 minutes earlier. That's surprised me because 2 o'clock means they close at 2 o'clock. That and the fact that the wine was maybe 3 ounces and cost $14 per glass. That was a bit excessive and not warranted by the quality of the wine. I would probably not go back. read more
