I went to The Oligarch for my company's holiday party and honestly, they picked the perfect spot. The place is really spacious and laid out so well one floor for eating and another that turns into a full club vibe for dancing. It made the whole night feel so fun. The buffet was really good and the drinks kept flowing just right. I loved the coat check and the lounge areas where you could take a break from the music and actually have a conversation. Even the bathrooms were nicely decorated and with privacy in each stall, which is rare at places like this. It felt upscale but still comfortable, not stuffy at all. This was my first time at Oligarch. I must say, once you go through the door, you feel like you have left Ozone Park. The service was first class. Rafael is so easy to work with and made sure everything we wanted for my husband's 40th birthday was there. You get what you pay for and then some. We are already thinking about having our 10th anniversary there. The food is amazing. The staff is great and tended to our every want and need. Everyone felt like royalty there. The DJ was excellent. We gave him a few songs we wanted to hear and he ran with it and surprised us. One thing is that you have to be open to listen to different types of music. We had our October 2022 wedding at Oligarch. And if you need a kosher venue in NYC, this is the place. For starters, Rafael -- the owner -- will become your wedding planner too. (We also hired our own planner). He helps you come up with "the look" for the wedding, and his vendors all have good prices. We spent 5 months before the wedding, texting and calling Rafael all the time. And day of the wedding -- was a smooth ride. Guest experience: people loved the food! We went with the $200 a person kosher Russian style feast. There were endless towers of sushi, fish, meat, veggies, and salads. The price point comes with wine. Oligarch has it all for a poppin party. I just had my birthday on a Saturday night right after a snow storm. That didn't stop anyone from partying to celebrate. There is valet parking and easy coat check as soon as you arrive. Indoor decor is too notch. Food is delicious. Music was fire with the servers coming out with tequila/ vodka shots! Servers were super polite and quick to help. Photographer that was there offered a great deal to take pictures throughout the night. What an amazingly exceptional place! Had my wifes birthday there and had a blast. Everything starting from the beginning was great. Food and music were so greatly intertwined that you had time to eat and dance without loosing fun. But i think the greatest takeaway was their service. Our waitress Dashulya in my opinion was one the best waiteress in restaurant business. Our cups were never empty, our plates were always full. Its like she had telepathy powers and knew what you needed without you asking for it. Ive been to many places in NYC and Oligarch is now on my top list. Beautiful atmosphere , I love the architecture and the lighting of the restaurant. This restaurant is very versatile you can host a wedding here or even just a birthday party. They can go from really simple to really over the top depending on how you like it. The tables are always so amazingly set and so much love and passion goes into all the foods that they make. You can tell that each dish is so carefully decorated with so much love . Ive been to many other halls for other cultural events and have always sat at tables that literally just have bread and butter on the table with a couple of roses and a candle! Not this place, this place had an entire spread of 20 different salads, sushi , assorted fish which is smoked, different bottles of liquor upon request. Different cold cut dishes and so much more . There's definitely more of the table than anybody can even finish that's why you can request to take some of it home or to offer it to your guests so they can take it home. The music is always on point . The liquor is out of this world , the best of the best . Top shelf . The owner gives you the option to send him photos of your family for a slide show to be played the entire night of your party . There are 2 floors . The downstairs is more of a lounge area which is great for couples and a girls nights out . The wait staff is very friendly and helpful and quick to get you anything you need with a smile . The owners are always walking around making sure everything is exactly how you wanted it which makes for a very successful night. They also give you the option to have performers on stage such as dancer . We had a belly dance preform for us she even had a python around her neck ! I must say that the establishment is very regal it has a nice feel to it when your inside dinning you would not feel like you are at all in Queens. The presentation and the food is also gorgeous, we had a lovely waitress (she had a lot of cool tattoos) which was very accommodating, she came around to our table every couple of minutes to refill our glasses, change plates and offer different types of salads and sushi/fish appetizers. Overall I highly recommend this place, I was a guest so I don't know how pricey it is but considering everything I experienced I can definitely see the appreciation for the value. read more

We scheduled an appointment with Rafael, the venue owner who was very accommodating to our busy schedules. 2. Rafael intently listened to what we envisioned for our special day and offered several options to accommodate our taste, style and budget. 3. Throughout our wedding planning Rafael was accessible at ALL hours of day or night to help me address my questions/concerns. 4. I was truly impressed with his attention to every detail of our wedding day, starting from table cloths, exquisite silk chair covers, table layouts, photo slideshows throughout the hall, and of course our delectable menu (which our guests can't stop raving about.) the fireworks and smoke he offered for our day were truly a magical touch that wrapped the whole event for me. 5. The only regret I have is that we didn't use Rafael as our wedding planner and instead we hired ppl separately. Everything that Rafael was in charge of was completely perfect. If it was possible to give this place ZERO stars I would gladly do it. This restaurant is not only a SCAM but also a waste of precious space. 1. Before booking a table for 32 people, we SPECIFICALLY asked if the area is wheelchair accessible or if they had something to accommodate a family member with one to which they SPECIFICALLY said YES to. Come to find out they not only had to make my uncle with the wheelchair go downstairs through the back door where the garbage was but they had a wooden board that 3 people had to step on while the wheelchair was in motion in order to create "wheelchair access".... I think there's something in the law about this. 2. When initially booking, we were told a specific amount for which we would be paying for at the end of the night. They ADDED an additional thousand dollars to the bill for a "service charge". Look, I'm all for tipping the staff which we would gladly do but if the owner is unaware about telling a customer what their total will be at the end of the night and their magic trick of applying an additional thousand dollars leaves me confused as to why they think they're capable of running a successful business. Maybe try a career as scam artists instead of restaurant owners. You're one of the best. 3. The whole downstairs had three parties. One with a slightly younger crowd about my age and the other two tables (including mine) were older. The DJ played about 5 Russian/Uzbek songs and then went on for about an hour and a half with house and rap music. I understand you have to accommodate EVERYONE and I'd be lying if I didn't enjoy some French Montana but c'mon, BOTH our tables were BORED while sitting down and not having a song or two play that we can ALL get down to. --Side note, if the lady that was singing last night got hired with THAT talent, then comparing to the way I sing in the shower, I will surely get a job in no time. 4. The food.....disgusting. 5. The staff aside from one guy was extremely rude and refused to leave the alcohol on the table because they wanted to serve us when we wanted to take a shot. Did they forget where we are from? Did the ONE waitress think she was going to keep up with serving EVERYONE at the pace Russian people drink? Plus that ONE waitress needs to consider another job outside of customer service. I used to be a server and I understand people get annoying and out of control ESPECIALLY after a night is off to a disaster but if I was ever THAT rude to anyone, any owner/manager would have to fire me. 6. Every other Russian restaurant in Queens is BYOB. This one isn't... unless it's Kosher. We didn't know, cool, no problem, we will buy/get bottles at the restaurant. You would think if you're paying over 5k you'd get a few bottles on the table or at least have someone bringing them down quicker but NO. You paid for an aspiring DJ Snake and food from the microwave. 7. The owner or manager we dealt with was incapable of understanding our frustrations which to me is a sign of incompetence. This place was a total waste of money and a night that was supposed to be special for my moms 60th birthday turned out to be a complete disappointment. My friends, family, distant relatives, acquaintances, business partners and anyone that ever asks for my opinion about this place will get this review and I will personally drag any one of them out of the restaurant if they even think about stepping one foot inside. The event cost $165 per person. Funny enough, I see a table with rack of lamb and other delicious foods. Had my surprise birthday party here tonight thanks to my wonderful wife and my family and friends. The best venue ever , they played biggie, little Wayne, and a whole lot of hip hip, the food was amazing steaks chicken and everything else was great. I'm extremely happy and would recommend anyone to bring their party here. Once down side, not enough dollar bills ;) I wanted to make it rain and they only had $30 in singles but it's all good because everything else was fking amazing! My husband and I were throwing a bris party for our newborn. We chose oligarch bc they offered something modern and different. To my surprise the owner who we dealt with was very accommodating and involved. He was available to answer my questions all the time (I had a different one almost everyday!) he gave us a great price and even did a beautiful slide show with the pictures we sent him of our new family. I'm very impressed and extremely satisfied with the way our party came out! He even surprised us by popping out on the dance floor and played the drum! Food was delicious, the table setup was beautifully decorated with the food and the staff were very professional! Just one word of advice- if you plan on having entertainment- DO NOT GET A BELLY DANCER! the rabbi is very strict and will not allow it for religious purposes. We took the time to look at other venues for our wedding but Oligarch and owner Rafael stood out right from the start. The decor is beautiful, classy and sophisticated yet also fancy and has a luxurious vibe. the banquet food was soo delicious - we were very pleasantly surprised because other wedding restaurants banquet food is usually good but doesn't stand out....we even took left overs with us it those were soo good! The service is top notch all the waiters and wait staff were super attentive to our needs and the needs of our guests! And a special thanks goes to Rafael the owner - he was with us from the start of our wedding planning journey to the very end, he took care of every little detail from start to finish. He recommended vendors that we absolutely loved from photographer to music to cake catering. He is very attentive to the needs of the bride and groom thinking of everything way ahead of time. Gorgeous breathtaking beyond beautiful restaurant. Owner really has some incredible style to make this place into a beauty that it is. Music was amazing . Was dancing all night long. Decor was stunning, jaw dropping. This place looks so elegant and fancy. My only negative is I came on a Saturday night and the food was a bit off par. Not sure if it's due to the party pricing the host chose but sushi was kind of bland , fish entree was fresh and delicious , lamb chops came incredible huge portions but flavoring was also not on point and mashed potatoes were already cold.
