Before I start I would like to say that this review is based solely upon my personal experiences and my personal experiences alone, so without further ado let's begin!!... We were invited to this establishment for a birthday party celebration for a family member turning 50 and joining the 50 club, Welcome!!.. We walked in to a few steps leading up to the main hall. To the left through the double doors was the large room where the celebration was being held. To the left was a sitting area and up a couple of steps from the sitting area was more steps leading you upstairs where the restrooms were located!. There were other areas of the building that I didn't get a chance to explore and I am not sure it was available to the public to see because it wasn't part of the birthday celebration area. As you walk through the double doors there is a large bar area to the right and a large area with a dance floor and a stage for further entertainment. The bartender served up some great drinks, nice and strong, the way I like them! I would definitely recommend this establishment if you're looking to host an event. To be absolutely honest the overall service of this place was fine. The staff was friendly despite them not all always being on the same page. The decor is to die for. This place LITERALLY screams elegance. My main issue with this place as a whole is the fact that the food is overpriced. They really don't have a large selection of items on their menu. Yes, they do cook everything from scratch but the overall pricing is a bit much for what you ACTUALLY get. The food is tasty and well seasoned but it's nothing extravagant. Honestly you're just paying for the ambience. If you are going to be charging $32.07 plus tip per person for a brunch buffet you need to have at least a wide variety options. This is things I could've got a regular dinner for a cheaper price and it would've tasted the same or if not better. P.S I like to support local black owned businesses. Tried the Sunday buffet (the only restaurant option btw). Almost single bite of food I had was delicious! The buffet stayed well stocked up until 4 pm, which was a major plus and most things still managed to taste fresh. Areas where it is easy to cut corners were not neglected here... an example the salad... great variety of mixed greens and super fresh tasting. The fried chicken had the perfect breading as did the fish fillets. The plantain was a nice surprise and also quite tasty. The macaroni and cheese was a bit cheesy for my preference but really no complaints. The biscuits were a bit dry but served as the perfect palate for the amazing chicken sausage and then later the peach cobbler which didn't seem to have much of a crust. It was amazing, just sort of like a peach soup. Ultimately the food gets five stars. The rum punch and white sangria are also tasty. Can't give five stars because the service really wasn't good. Everyone was friendly but we had stacks of plates on the table for most of the meal, I never got a refill on my water, or no one asked us about getting another drink. In some respects, it might be clear this place is a one day a week restaurant. At the end of the day, however, I'd definitely go back for the food and that's the most important part! read more

Well now: I traveled here for the Sunday Brunch Buffet with a friend. I heard that the food was good and the venue was nice bit needed to see for myself. The venue was very nice, the sky lighting was perfect, the stafd was professional and attentive but the food... the food was AH-MAZING. I don't typically eat a lot but I had 2 plates and dessert. Im not sure what had me more excited, those sweet Belgium waffles and homemade syrup, the creamy grits, or the golden fried chicken. And that peach cobbler ... I think my eyes rolled back a bit. The food here is rgood but the spoonbread is Exceptiomal and the cocktails are good. The wait staff which included the owner was accommodating, friendly and competent. I would absolutely patronize this up and coming establishment again. There is no handicapped accessible lavatory so, if you are not able to make it up the two short flights of stairs you might need to change your meal plan. Today was my first time at Pinnacle and I'll admit...I Yelp almost every place I try for the first time. After seeing there were no reviews, I was definitely nervous. My skepticism was definitely put to rest after entering the beautiful lobby area and the impressive dining room. The natural sunlight and modern decor had the Mr. and I immediately thinking of an event we could host at Pinnacle. The brunch buffet was delicious! There's a carving and omelette station, freshly made waffles, oatmeal, peach cobbler, fried whiting and chicken as well as mac and cheese, pasta, rice/beans, string beans, fruit and tossed salad. Mimosas, sangria, hot and cold non- alcoholic beverages are included with refills. As their first Yelp review, I regret not taking pictures of the food but it was too good to stop and click! I believe it was the owner who came over and checked on us and that's always a nice touch. Even the buffet servers were really nice and personable. To have all three...great food, a nice ambiance and attentive service is hard to come when dining out but Pinnacle has it going on! I was told about this place a few months ago . When I say this is by far the best kept Soul food restaurant, I've been to in years. The service is beyond excellent, food is to die for, I've been twice within three week. I'm definitely going back within the next week or two. This place is a joke and/or a scam. I booked a Bridal Party for my sister for 50 people. I paid over $40 per person for The Brunch Buffet and Unlimited Drinks. When it was time for the bridal party to eat we were told we had to wait 20mins because they ran out of food. Ok, things happen, I thought at least we could get some drinks from the bar while we waited for food. WRONG the Bridal party was not allowed to order drinks directly from the bar we had to order drinks from our waitress. ONE waitress for over 40 people it took forever just to get one watered down sangria. When we were finally able to eat the Bridal party was told by the staff that they were only allowed a certain amount of food i.e. 1 piece of chicken 1 piece of fish, not to mention some of the food was never replenished. Some of my guess didn't even eat. The owner who's name is Victor did nothing to help the situation he was very rude and arrogant and can't possibly know the meaning of CUSTOMER SERVICE. A day later I called Denise with whom I planned the party. She basically admitted that they had more people than expected and ran out of food! But was not willing to accommodate me because they had "extenuating circumstances" I will never go there again, its truly sad that this is the treatment that they would give to someone who paid over 2 Grand. The food was good but a lot of it wasn't fresh so we had to wait until they brought out fresh food. The chicken (baked and fried) was delicious. Waffles , grits and eggs (egg station)were good as well. There was only one person manning the food stations causing more wait...It's pretty inside but very small so make sure you have a reservation first. We had to wait even with a reservation. Our party of 10 people couldn't sit together...they split us up and that ruined the entire experience. When we asked could we add another table we were told that we were told we wouldn't all be seated together which is untrue. The wait staff was inattentive...we had to flag him down for drinks,to remove dirty plates from the table and for the check. I don't know if this place was under staffed or if being the last reservation on a Sunday is wise but I don't think I would come here again. read more

This turkey was not cleaned and I was embarrassed to serve it and very disappointed with this turkey. I celebrated a birthday here recently. The Sunday brunch has a great variety of food options for everyone. The rum punch is definitely a fave. The only thing that I didn't like was that my party could not be seated together due to the size of the venue. I came here for Sunday brunch. For starters, the website advertises a 10 a.m. opening and there is a sign in front of the place that states it is it 11 a.m. opening. Neither is correct. They open the buffet at 12 p.m. however they open the doors at 11:30 a.m. If you come at 11:30 a.m., you will not be served any alcoholic beverage until 12 p.m. . The waiter read us a list of drinks and anytime anyone ordered anything he said I don't think we have that. Talk about a tease. The buffet consisted of various foods including an omelet station, a carving station, macaroni and cheese, rice and beans, sweet plantains, beef bacon, fruit salad, chicken sausage, Fried Chicken Etc. The food itself was tasty comfort food. If you are sensitive to sodium, definitely pass on this place because all the food is loaded with salt and grease. As you enter the dining hall you will see an array of shoes that I believe belong to the waitresses that work there. NOT a good look. This place is extremely badly managed. At one point, one of my friends, who happened to know the owners, ask the female bartender if they were there. She said in a tone, Denise is in Disneyland. My friend then proceeded to ask about the other owner and she cut them off short with an attitude and says loudly he's busy. I don't feel like my business was appreciated at all. Service was below average. The floor was full of dust. Some of the condiments were expired. I just wouldn't return here and I definitely cannot recommend this place to anyone. read more

Food was okay, It was weird that there were no collard greens or cabbage. Brunch started 15min late, we couldn't get our alcoholic beverage until the buffet opened, I guess they thought we were going to drink all the sangria. The hostess had on a distasteful romper that her behind was hanging out. After eating we were chatting and the manager came over and asked us to leave because he needed our seating because a large was coming. Excellent experience from beginning to end! From the courteous phone conversations, to the incredible, delicious food, to the presentation... This place is a hidden gem in Lodi, NJ ! After having the great opportunity to attend a holiday party at Pinnacle, I was able to indulge my senses with the beautiful presentation of food, one delicious option better than the next! I never go for seconds, but I did this time! The fried chicken was out of this world!! I then decided to place an order for 2 trays of food to help me during the holiday season. The trays came perfectly packaged, with directions for a "no fail" situation and they went!! They were devoured by my family and left all of us wanting more of the creamy macaroni and cheese and the perfectly cooked brussel sprouts! I just ordered again from Pinnacle as I will be hosting a brunch party at my house and the menu selection is so good that I almost couldn't decide but with the help of Victor Nurse, he put it all together for me. Everyone here is pleasant and kind, always smiling and that is refreshing to see. The food is well seasoned, well cooked and there are incredible options to choose from. Booked this hall to hold a bridal shower for a friend. Two days before the event, I was informed two days before the event that didn't have the tablecloth colors that I originally requested. I informed the assistant that I would be there the day of the event at 9am. I was expecting someone to wait for me. It was 10:30am and one of the waiters finally opened the door. A few minutes later, we began setting up (some things had to be shifted) and the owner, Victor Nurse, came out..not being apologetic, but with one of the nastiest attitudes ever. He had issues with the set-up being charged, but he was an hour and a half late so even if it could've been discussed early, it couldn't happen anymore due to his tardiness. His attitude, as well as the two waiters, remained disgusting and unprofessional throughout the course of the entire event. Food was wrapped up without giving my guests a final call for brunch. Good thing I stacked some containers and gave it to my guests. Half of the utensils were dirty, they weren't willing to help with switching out tables, and the list of unprofessionalism goes on. Bacon and biscuits were completely burnt. Food wasn't bad, but the nasty attitudes left ALL of my guests with a nasty review of the place. The most disheartening part about all of this is that as an African- American business owner, there's a standard that should be upheld. People shy away from black-owned businesses due to the lack of respect, and customer service. Unfortunately, this business has fallen right into the category of the many others that are failing due to the lack of sensitivity towards customers. As one who is constantly planning events, I fell in love with the garden room, and made plans to have quite a few more events there, but after that experience, I will never be the one to have anything take place in that hall.
