The vodka sauce in particular was the perfect balance of creamy and cheesy. The chicken parm was juicy and flavorful. The service was fast and the servers constantly checked up on us to make sure everything was good and to see if we needed anything. Overall, I highly recommend. It's a gorgeous, clean place that's perfect to have large gatherings at.

The negatives: 1-While it appears to be a relatively new building, not much thought went into parking, because when both banquet rooms are booked as was the night I was there, the parking lot was full and street parking was a not that easy; I had to park 3 blocks away. 2-There was another event taking place on the second floor the night I was there and the sound proofing in the building is not adequate as we heard the radio upstairs blaring during the wedding ceremony I was at downstairs. 3- There was open row seating area in the middle of the room to watch the ceremony but not enough chairs. I heard someone ask staff to bring more chairs and a few more were eventually brought in, but it was still short. 4- While not necessarily a negative, I found it odd and cheap looking that a LED "OPEN" sign is in the first floor window of the banquet hall and was lit during the wedding as if it was a public event. I cannot comment on the food since I do not eat Indian cuisine, but others at my table seemed to enjoy it and I did not hear anyone say anything negative about it.

My husband and I, decided to do buffet style for the dinner. The food served at the buffet was absolutely amazing. We also chose the premium open bar, the bartenders did an amazing job with the drinks. My husband and I wedded on July 26,2024, and to this day our family and friends still talk about how much fun they had and how delicious the food and drinks were. The worst venue EVER!!! There wasn't enough seating for everyone so only family could sit. They had no way to get to this area from the inside without going outside. STUPID! Now to the venue. The place itself is very pretty, but totally impractical. There is marble everywhere, stairs too. Problem? Stairs have cracks in them and I almost fell down the stairs because my heel got stuck in a crack on the steps. There's what looks like a bucket open "elevator" that was out of order. How the f**k do you have a venue that holds 250 people with no working elevator. Plus everything was on different floors. There were elderly people and some with canes, that had to go up and down the stairs. Ridiculous!! Can you spell FIRE HAZARD? The "cocktail hour" - if you could call it that - was practically non-existent. There was no place to sit and there was 2 small trays of food - one with fruit and the other with rolled up salami on a mozzarella "stick" or wrapped around a sesame bread stick. Looked like something you'd find in a supermarket. All small amounts. Maybe there were 6 little bistro tables with 2-3 chairs at each table. Certainly not enough room for all 250 people who were in attendance at this wedding. The bar was a joke as well. Couldn't get a glass of water it was so packed in the lobby area. Do you see a way to get out of this venue should there be a fire? I didn't. From the lobby floor area you could look down on the tables where everyone will be sitting for dinner. There were salad plates at each place setting that was sitting out for at least 2 hours before we would be going down for dinner. Seriously?? Soggy and small. Yuck. There was just 1 bartender in the main dinner area. The bartender couldn't even get the drinks right! Now the waiters come around to take your order off of the menus on the table that the bride and groom chose. We were hopeful that all the food would be good. First course was Pasta alla Vodka. Trust me... this was NOT Pasta alla Vodka. There were these dark bitter herbs (tasted like Tarragon!) all over the pasta that was gross. Plus the pasta was so over cooked it was mushy and falling apart. Main course didn't fair much better. I got the salmon which sounded yummy from the menu. It was drowned in too much sauce and still managed to be dry. Plus the portion sizes were a joke. My husband got the steak which was also small and overdone. Others got the Chicken Marsala which sounded like it would be good. It was not. The music. The bass was so loud that you couldn't even decipher the song, and the music bounced off all of the marble ceilings, walls, and floors! You couldn't even hear yourself think it was so loud, let alone trying to talk to someone right next to you at your table. After hearing later that this sweet couple paid $30,000 for this atrocity makes me so mad for them. This is by far the WORST wedding venue I've ever attended. H O R R I B L E !!

Skylight was a great location for my engagement party. The owner Anthony was always pleasant,…read moreresponsive and available to answer all of our questions. He even let us come back on multiple occasions to see the hall before finally making a decision. They have a small parking lot available in the back, round tables and/or rectangular tables are provided, tablecloths and/or chair covers can be purchased for an additional charge, upgrades like lounge style high tables, fancier chairs, photobooth and decorating services are available as well. I will say compared to the other places we checked out, Skylight was very well maintained and modern looking with nicely painted walls and contemporary mirrors. The bathrooms were super clean and this location had a small kitchen with a window, which was perfect for our bartender to serve drinks. The price was also affordable and they provide clean up for you. The reason why I didnt give 5 stars is bc of the owners mother in law (the decorator). She was seen at my event on multiple occasions lingering around and I was informed she asked for food. Really?!... Honestly, I would have preferred to not have her in the background of my pictures and clearly in my videos as well. It was tasteless and I would have respected a check in here and there not hawking around like we were throwing a children's party. Oh and the icing on the cake... she threw out our custom engraved champagne glasses bc she was in a rush to clean up. Overall my party was a success and my MOH and mother decorated the hall beautifully within the 2 hour (prior to party time) slot they were given. There was enough room for a photobooth, DJ, cake table, main table, tables for 60 guests and there was still space left for a few people to buss the Electric Slide.

I even put a deposit down somewhere else, but the space never felt right and I couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment. I kept looking... And then... I found Lights on Kent. The moment we walked in, my daughter's face lit up as you can see from the video! The space is stunning - bright and elegant even before adding decor. I knew right away this was our place. I cancelled the other venue immediately. It was the best decision I made in the entire planning process. Charlie, the venue manager, was awesome. He assured me I didn't need to overspend to create something magical. He supported me from start to finish, responded to every concern, offered creative solutions, and genuinely cared about us having a meaningful, joyful event. After the bat mitzvah, when I needed help navigating some vendor issues, he stepped up without hesitation. That level of support was priceless. Our guests were taken aback by how gorgeous the room looked and how special the atmosphere felt. If you're looking for a breathtaking space, flexible and wonderful people to work with, and a venue that truly cares about your event, Lights on Kent is it. I am beyond grateful to them for helping make my daughter's bat mitzvah feel as beautiful and special as it could. While I continue to have issues with a vendor, post-event, having their support has helped me process, helped me sort through the problems, and this level of support is above and beyond. Some places are just venues. This one felt like, and still feels like their on my team. Thank you LOK!
