This place is so messed up. The New Years event started an hour late. Everyone waited in the cold. The owner made up an extra charge out of no where, once the doors finally opened. The charge was 10$ in cash only, if you had a coat on. Mind you this place is in the queens so it took more than 10$ to get here. You couldn't use a card at all for the surprise last minute fee. The rule was anyone who didn't have cash for the fee wasn't allowed inside and anyone who already came in without paying the fee had to be kicked out. Majority of the tickets for the New Years event was marketed and advertised as " Free Before 10pm ". So a large amount of people were expecting to come in for free but nope. After these people stood in line all of that time, they had to go home or find somewhere else after wasting their time in line. The fact that the owner made the decision out of pure greed is disgusting. It's Winter in New York City and you're forcing people to pay 10$ for wearing a coat. The worst part is that this fee didn't exist until the doors opened so literally no one knew about it. Arguments with security broke out over this rule. It's understandable that businesses need profit but this was just a dirty move. Nobody carry's around straight cash in this day in age at that time of night. There wasn't even an ATM around, so if you didn't have cash on you, you basically wasted your time. It was worse on the people who paid for their tickets. read more

Security guard at this location are bullies & thieves! They were taking whatever they wanted from people. They stole full packs of cigarettes, hand sanitizer, & anything they decided to claim wasn't allowed in. & I do mean stole. They would take it out of your pocket & slip it in theirs then tell you no you can't have it back. In any reputable location they would at least hold restricted items to be collected again later but they refused to do this. The guards also tried to extort people into paying for the items back! All they would say is "no you can't get it back" & "money talks". I can't believe I paid to get robbed! Apparently these rules didn't apply to everyone as one of the guards gave someone elses confiscated pack of cigarettes to a girl he was flirting with. Went here for a Halloween event, the space is great, but there is such little organization and the heinous state of the bathroom, ugh, just, no. A big, fat NO. We waited on line for a long, long time, and when we got to the door, our tickets weren't even scanned. they patted us down, and in we went... to find another line. it took a good 5 minutes for us to find out what this line was for because there was little signage and no one else knew. Our group split up so half of us could use the bathroom. Took nearly 40 mins, good thing our friends coat check line took the same amount of time. The party itself was meh. The bar, another long wait, ridiculously priced for small bottom shelf alcohol. Why go here? Just, why? No reason. read more

Just went here for MMA fights last night, not only is this place so dirty, forget about them taking all the necessary covid protocols (which they didn't, at all), but also UNPROFESSIONAL, UNORGANIZED! The promoter had the balls to charge an expensive rate for tickets too at this DUMP! The bathrooms were covered in "water" at least l hope it was water, NO LOCKS on the bathroom doors, the garbage cans were overflowing and barely any soap and the hand dryer wasn't working! The bar food is even more disgusting and overpriced from what my friend told me but he was starving after being there for hours waiting for them to finish setting up (the crew were a couple of hours late to start the fights) NO Air Conditioning!!! Wtf?! 90 degree weather & everyone is fanning themselves, after paying $75 and up per ticket! AT LEAST have the doors opened if no AC! I felt like I was going to pass out! Can yelp please add a zero stars option? I believe I was scammed by this venue or associated promoters. I have not been able to find an email or telephone number (that works) to connect with anyone regarding my issue. I purchased tickets to a concert there - order number in hand - and was not permitted entrance. Myself and at least 80 to 100 plus others (perhaps more) - were turned away despite having pre-purchased tickets. Officers present said that folks were scammed as this place consistently goes over capacity but does not refund its guests. Not cool to play with peoples funds Amazura...smh read more

The worst live performance I've ever been to. It may be that the promoters organized it poorly as they advertised 8 artists but none of them even went on stage until after 2 am which meant super short performances. A massive waste of money. Amazura staff (security, bar and bathroom) were all courteous and professional so if it was the event organizers fault they need reconsider their professional relationships. Side note: more fights, passed out drunk people and drug use (not weed) than I've ever seen in a club in Brooklyn. read more

Check Hour long line for crowded bar area with maybe 5 bartenders working for a crowd of 5,000+ people? Check Shitty watered down $12 drinks in 4oz plastic cups that are gone in 5 sips or less? Check Hour long line for the bathroom? Check Horrible gut wrenching EDM remixes that make me want to lay down and take an Ambien? Check 75% of the time I spent here was just waiting in lines. I have been here on MANY occasions, all of them being EDM events. Although it will never be the Electric Warehouse in Brooklyn, it's been a decent replacement since it got shut down. This concert hall is HUGE, with plenty of room to dance and hoop!!! Quality depends on the company hosting the rave, but lighting and decorations typically go above and beyond. There are also three bars - two on the first floor lining each end of the venue, and one upstairs. But don't bother, drinks are crazy expensive for a tiny plastic cup and they even charge despicable amounts for water. Lines for the bathroom are always long, and they don't let you refill your bottles at the sink. Every venue has its pros and cons, I suppose. read more

Read and BELIEVE the reviews before going here! I didn't read reviews until after I bought my tickets. BIG MISTAKE! I went to Amazura last night for NYE Great Gatsby event. This party was advertised on GroupOn (where I got my tix) and other sites as something totally different from the outcome. The online info stated that the club would be fully decorated in Gatsby-esque decor, that 1920s attire was highly suggested, 1920s music would be playing before midnight, there would be a photobooth with props, someone dressed as Gatsby himself would be wandering around, ETC. When we got to Amazura, there was a line around the block full of EDM-dressed teens (18+ event) who had not purchased tix. Ours were already purchased and printed out, so we didn't have to wait long on a line. That was one of the only Pros of the evening. Security was quick, they throw out your gum so don't bring it in. We finally got inside, and the line to coatcheck was insane. This night was below 30 degrees so we found free parking 2 blocks away and decided to do coatcheck. We waited on the line about 20 minutes before my BF and I decided to take the coats back to the car and do Valet parking. Valet cost $30, but at this point it was worth it. After we got back in (without a problem), we proceeded to the bustling bar to get drinks. We quickly got a bartenders attention, ordered our drinks (they do check ID which I appreciated since there were lots of underage people there). The drinks cost $12 each, in one of those small plastic cups. I did not use the restroom at all, we left an hour after the ball dropped because of the music. The music from the moment we got in, until we left, was 100% EDM. A non-EDM song would start to play, we got excited, and then it turned into an EDM remix. I don't think EDM is bad, but my group and I would've gladly preferred a MIX of music. There was no 1920s music. The decor was NOT 1920s either! A few giant holiday ornaments and balloons hung from the ceiling, we did not see any photobooth, and the only 1920s thing they had was a guy dressed in old-fashioned clothing on stilts. I am sure that for EDM/Rave events, this place is the spot. But to advertise as a Great Gatbsy themed NYE event with all this other stuff, and NONE of that existed once we got there, is FALSE advertising. Along with us, there were plenty of other confused-looking 20/30 somethings dressed in 1920s fashion. It was just such a strange mix of people in pajamas to 1920s ish gowns. It was a Nightmare and I am half joking because I was there for the Nightmare Before Christmas event. Firstly its located in the worst part of Queens, secondly they didnt properly prepare for the amount of people attending this event. The bar was so backed up it took 45 min to get a drink and the bathroom line was out the door. The event coordiantor was not able to provide a lot of the extras they promised such as a hookah bar and themed drinks and interactive displays and blamed the venue for not delivering. This was like a dancehall you would be trapped in if you were sent to purgatory after death. Oh and $12 drinks in 6 oz cups OMG and they arent anywhere near Manhattan so why the insane pricing??? The wait to get in was about 2 hours then they turned people away at 1230 who had purchased tickets because the sold out event was at full capacity. There was an EDM event held at this venue. The security was ridiculous. They patted down females and had us removing our shoes. The one guard had pulled my bra away from my body to see if things dropped. No lighters were allowed, they threw them in a box. No water bottles-even unopened ones. The line took us an hour and change do to the police enforcing all of these crazy policies. Then they had us passing by a dog to sniff us. You can't go outside for air or to smoke a cigarette, as there is no reentry allowed. The bathrooms weren't too bad. The lady stopped me as I was trying to go in until there was an empty stall. A bottle of water was $6 and a shot $12. More seating would be cool and some a/c. The bar area was cornered off but stayed packed. I stayed with my 1 bottle of water and left after an hour and a half. The changes made need to be done more efficiently, in order to actually benefit the patrons. The show I was seeing was awesome. The flyer that was advertised was the total opposite for a NYE party!!!! It was unorganized, lack of security, dress code should've been enforced. What was expected of a night of elegance but on arrival looked like it would be hood party because of what people was wearing. Several people wearing jeans, fitted hats, and sneakers. An individual passed out cold that cops was called and EMS. Little did I know the night would end in horror. Dj starks comes on stage and playing mostly trap musics on repeat and the stage was getting crowded, you hear gun shots in the venue led to people running out, getting hurt and looking for the nearest exist. I came out here with this girl for anything goes Labor Day dancehall whatever.... we had a great time. The event started on time. The security guards were very professional. I didn't see any problems. The drinks were mixed right. The décor was nice. The bathroom stayed clean all night, even with the place being filled to capacity. We all had a great time. Amazura should be ashamed. We went here for a labor day fete and had a Groupon ticket for entry. The event space did not have a bar code scanner so everyone who did not have a hard ticket (literally hundreds of us!) had to wait outside on line for over an hour while security matched our IDs to the Groupons. Rule #1: If you are going to use technology for promotions, make sure you have the technology necessary to honor said promotions. Eventually, we walked into the place and after over an hour on line I had to use the bathroom. The cleaning woman inside was directing traffic. "How enterprising of her," I thought, until I realized she was keeping some stalls empty for some unknown reason and actually making the line move slower. It was out the door, around the hall corner and down the steps towards the bar for the entire night. Rule #2: Make sure your staff knows their role and, no matter how enterprising, sticks to said role. Wow, we definitely needed a drink at this point. When I saw the amount of people behind the bar I felt a little relief that this part of the night, at least, would be quick and easy. Wrong! At least 2 females back there were managers (I think), taunting me with the drinks they were sipping, watching that crowd nor employee was doing anything illegal. At least 3 bartenders were crowded around the antiquated credit card machine waiting for the one in front to print out a transaction receipt. Eventually someone takes my order, "Two vodka redbull please". The bartender counted math on her fingers and said, "That's $31". Thirty-one dollars!! $15.50 per drink!! I begrudgingly add tip to that amount and she hands me 2 Dixie cups filled with ice, one measured shot of vodka each, and a can of redbull. That was the last thing we drank for the night. Rule #3: You will actually make more money from legitimate drink prices as people will return to your venue a second time! Amazura, your space is lovely but your business sense and leadership really leave much to be desired. I was here last night for an April Fools comedy show. The joke was how everyone was treated. 2 hour wait outside in the cold before we could even get in. The show was supposed 2 start at 1030p with doors opening at 9p. We never got in until Midnight. Security was letting in who they wanted to. The bathroom was straight nasty. Slippery floors and a bathroom attendant who didnt attend to anything. I will never go back to this place. The event management and promoter of the event take equal blame in this fiasco. They said it was "full to capacity", HOWEVER, a few minutes later they were trying to charge $50-$60 to get in...MIND YOU it was FREEZING & 9 degrees outside. Terrible venue/events space. This place was infamous for being a trash spot for wild, shoot 'em up, Caribbean parties back in the day and it's definitely still trash. This dump is being advertised as "NYC Arena" now. Why??? All of the signs still say Amazura, bartenders tee's say Amazura. You google NYC Arena and nothing shows up. I dunno... I was here for the first and last time, last night (4th of July), for comedian Kevin Hart's all-white bday affair. Amazura is big, dark and gloomy and it's the first "club" I've ever been to that searches all partygoers pockets and purses for gum. When I got inside I understod why.The dingy, black carpeted floors were dotted with old gum spots. Bathrooms were disgusting even with an attendant in it. I've seen better bar areas in people's finished basements. The all-girl servers were dimpled up and lumpy with butt cheeks spilling and dressed in the most ridiculous floral printed jumpers. DJ Self kept asking everyone to put their middle fingers in the air and I was happy to oblige. The crowd was full of hood boogas. They had people body-painting and entertainers all throughout. Drinks are so damn expensive (no wonder people take in drugs). They had us line up and go out in groups of 4 and they rushed us the entire time, security was angry and the cops were lined up outside. I understand at EDM events, venues have to take caution, but it was all a little overwhelming. Great Gatsby NYE: This was the worst night. Event was completely mis-advertised. I was so excited to dance around to 20's music, I wanted to be taken back. Venue was supposed to be transformed into a scene right out of The Great Gatsby. I felt like a damn fool once I got in. All EDM music, the whole night. That's exactly the kind of shit I was trying to avoid that New Year's Eve. The coat check was the worst part of the night. Getting my coat checked was a chore, finding the coat check was the first step.. no signs or indication of where it was. I found myself waiting on a line that thankfully ended up being the right one. Picking up my coat was the most FRUSTRATING experience of my life. Line was ridiculously long and just NOT MOVING. There was no organization, whatsoever. The doors were wide open to the club and we were all standing there, hunched over, trying not to catch pneumonia. Some guy who worked there started taking random tickets in the middle of the line and going in the back to retrieve them. His system of retrieval consisted of whichever girls could flirt the hardest. I went here last night March 28 , 2015 for New York Fight Exchange (nyfe) the place is hugeeeeee!! The guards were very nice the place is nice BUT.... The doors opened at 630 the first fight was suppose to start at 7... they didn't start until 815 at this point I'm getting restless because the seat were fold out chairs and they were not comfortable at all ...I ordered pineapple ciroc and pineapple juice the cup was so small it was the size of the cup the dentist use to tell u to rinse after a cleaning and it was 12.00 like are u kidding me... park is hard to find and valet is 20.00 extra but the guy doesn't speak English if u have questions. .. They didn't id at the bar so alot of underage ppl were there buying 3 4 5 6 beers at a time one guy couldn't even carry all the beers he ordered ridiculous. .. i didn't even stay for the whole event my ticket was 60.00 on the ticket it said what sect and row u would be sitting in but since Noone seats u after awhile u can sit in any section in any seat even if it says reserved. .. organization was not key at this event. .. it was an amateur mma fight night with professional mma fighters there ... i feel like they tried tooooo hard to make it toooo professional. .. I have to say i was really looking forward to seeing CircusGlow today at the 5pm showing, my party and I showed up t 430pm we were told that we could go in and take a seat but unfortunately the place was double booked but our show was still gonna show all we had to do was check out coats and wait, we Did that and showed a gentlemen our groupon e tickets for the 5pm showing for 6ppl. He said we were good to go take a seat werever we could, the wait was not a problem ( had a six yrold and a 4yrold)they held up very well they even took a nap in the 3hrs that we waited. There was such an uproar over the timing the kwanzaa show went over there timing and wanted more time even when they were clearly done. The production staff of amazura just let the 2 venues try to hash it out instead of fixing the problem clearly everyone was there for circus glow the second venue personal had no right breacking the djs laptop.i will not be bring any of my family, or friends back to amazura cuz i just dont feel comfortable putting my ppl in that confusing atmosphere ever again. Went to the "Tim Burton Halloween Party." The event organizer sent an email that the 2 hour line for a 5 hour event was due to the lack of entrance that were operating and security staffed by the venue. Additionally the overly zealous security detail confiscated everyone's cigarettes & Hand sanitizer before we could enter the event. The bar was an understaffed ripoff. $12 for a 3oz mix drink, $3 for 12oz h2o. Waited over an hour to order 4 drinks as there were only 5 people staffed to work the bar at this event. The bathroom lines for the event I attended were over an hour as well. There is too little seating for the size of the venue (incase you want to relax). The lines for the coat check were about an hour long as well. I recommend NOT going to any event held at this venue. read more

If I were to make this review a couple years ago, my rating would probably be higher. I can't even lie I had so many good times here. Met so many people that I've forgotten. All around good vibes. I've only ever been to the raves here, but I always had a good time. It was one of the most convenient clubs in the city, being that it's literally a 2 minute walk from the Jamaica train station. But being that it was in Jamaica comes along some sketchy situations. Definitely didn't feel comfortable walking by myself around there. The club itself is awesome. Very big and a lot of area to move. Something that a lot of NYC clubs lack. Very shady people working there though. The security are a bunch of hustlers. I got caught smoking a joint one night there and the dude made me give him $20 or he was gonna kick me out. I've been here maybe 7 times and only 1 of those times they had a smoking area. But it's like they didn't care about you smoking cigs inside. The bartenders are very rude, it's like they don't wanna be bothered helping you. Drinks are very expensive, but I always would pregame so I didn't really need to buy many drinks. I don't even think they throw and EDM events anymore. So basically had really good times here, but the staff sucks. read more

As others have stated I watched as 2 people just stood there scanning the girls every move(if 1 of those chicks farted she'd known who's ass it came from)I also took note of how they improperly made Long Island Ice teas too(only 1 type of liquor I couldn't make out if if was rum gin or vodka but it was definite rail)So then I asked for Peach Ciroc straight(I drinks vodka)what was given to us was not Peach Ciroc!! First of all the bathroom attendance have an attitude out of this world. I was physically assaulted by her first then was had her and another female who claimed to be an employee (without a staff uniform) literally pushed open the bathroom door and physically took us out of the stall because we were in there too long. I have never, ever experienced such an invasion of privacy in my entire life. After notifying two securities, no one even budged to settled or address the matter. This is by far one of the worse musical experiences I have ever experienced. We went for the Labor Day Extravaganza! Flyer said, "Doors Open at 10:00 PM, so we got there at 9:00 PM for good measure. We had Groupon-discounted tickets and after waiting in line for oven an hour, finally getting to the front wooohooo "We're finally getting in right? " WRONG!!!... they sent us to ANOTHER line because they didn't have the scanners for our tickets...frustration level is up to my waistline at this point. After another half hour or so we finally get in, and as big as that place is, it seemed almost empty even though there were hundreds of people inside. We figured, let's get a drink and this nightmare won't seem so bad, right?-- WRONG.. lines weren't bad because 80% of the people were still outside, but the prices YIKES.. were so high, there was no way we were going to pay those ridiculous rip-off prices. Now frustration level is up to my neck... The staff seemed very inexperienced and borderline incompetent. Nobody seemed to know what was going on, and WHEN (not IF) there was a problem, nobody quite seemed to know how to fix it without going to find a manager who seemed to be in the "Witness Protection Program," for the FBI--nowhere to be found. The lights were so-so, but it seemed that no matter where I stood, that darn laser kept on shining in my eyes.. I guess I can't complain about free lasek surgery right? For 2 hours and 45 minutes they put DJ after DJ on the stage playing song after song. The music wasn't bad; some were nostalgic and brought back, but I didn't come for that, I want live music, and at this point my frustration bubbled over and we'd had it. We were "this" close to leaving, but decided to wait another 15 minutes. Around 1:00 AM the first artist graced the stage, the sound quality was so horrible, it sounded like a radio that wasn't quite tuned correctly-- maybe hearing every third word or so. I could hear the DJ just fine because he had a wired mic, but the performers had wireless mics, so I'm thinking, "OK Genius, give her YOUR mic...nobody came here to hear YOU!!" Apparently, that concept was lost on the entire engineering crew because five artists went on stage before they figured out the problem. The management there need to take some "Business Management" courses and at the local community college OR the owners need to hire competent people and now folks who seem like every event is their first. One would think that they'd have all the kinks worked out by now. The venue is massive and have potential, but under current conditions and management, it's doubtful we'll pay money for anything there again. You don't even deserve one star!!!!!!!!! But, So last night I went to a Haitian function..... And everything was soooooooo unorganized. First the bouncers said we could come through to the performers side as long as we have tickets, then we get there and they turn all of us around and say go to the front. After that we get inside and try to validate our VIP tickets. They didn't have enough VIP areas and no place for people to sit. If I'm in VIP I should be able to sit without being pushed and bumped into. I got a drink spilled on me, so many people didn't have a place to sit when they had VIP tickets!!! Then bottle service was super trash. And it wasn't the ladies fault but it was so many people that weren't suppose to even be in VIP trying to regulate that and get everyone's drinks in order I can imagine how annoying that must of been. I just don't understand how a place could be so big but so disorganized. I've been to many Haitian events and I've never been this upset. If it wasn't for DJ staks and some of the ladies I met in bottle service I wouldn't have stayed as long as I did. I didn't even stay to see carimi. read more
