To start, I have loved Olga's since I was a very little kid walking around in Birmingham and came upon a quant little shopping arcade. Inside, there was a little cart selling the original Olga and spinach pies!! I was hooked from that day on! My excitement grew as Olga's expanded their menu and their business. I was able to go to the Westland and 12 oaks locations along with the best location, Livonia at Laurel Park. This Novi location came along and many of the mall sites sadly closed. Overall, the quality that Olga had so many years ago has suffered and declined. But, there is still nothing like the bread, the snackers, the curly fries and some sandwiches when done with care! To my surprise, this location has become a counter order system for both carry out and dine in. Lunch business was brisk, the lady at the counter said they were short staffed and items were coming out slow. The line was long. My party decided to eat inside. The food comes out in carry out bags, no plates and the quality was disappointing to say the least. The hot "hell-fire" chicken has two very tiny frozen chicken tenders and a lot of sauce. It made eating on the foil wrapper even more difficult. The fries were cold and the appetizer portions were barely enough for one person, but at full price. The food was not even mid. This concept is not working. This was not an enjoyable experience and I would not spend money here at this location. Olga's has a legacy! To the people who made these decisions to lessen quality, put out poor food and not have table service, you went down the wrong path! Please try to uphold the quality and provide a good experience for the customer. Honor the woman that built this business! All good things Do Not have to end! read more

I rarely have the opportunity to enjoy a sit down restaurant. I came here expecting the same dining experience I've had at other olga locations. I hated the "order at the counter" service. It felt more like McOlgas than the quality I've come to expect. I tipped 25% but left wondering what I tipped for. Someone came by once and I asked for a napkin. Instead of getting me one, she pointed to the self serve station. For the price, the size was meh...The onions were bitter instead of sweet as well. If this had been an Olga's with a waitstaff, I would have likely added to my order because the sandwich just wasn't sufficient but I didn't want the fast food experience at the register again, I just left. I feel like I was tricked by this locations service style. There should be something in the name distinguishing this type of Olga's from traditional ones. read more

Want to start with the most important part of this review and it's about the leader Robbie. She is so incredibly kind, focused on her customer and their experience. This location is right across from a large hospital and I first met Robbie when I saw her compassion and care for customers in action. There was a woman weeping alone in a booth. Robbie approached her with her genuine kindness and empathy, taking care to be respectful but caring for this woman. Turns out her Mom was in her last days and she was from out of town. It was there I was part of a conversation to share hugs and a shoulder with Robbie, hopefully helping in some small way to help this person in obvious pain. We are frequent customers of Olga's for the food of course but it's the caring staff, clean and wonderful experiences that make this one of regular places. I'm so bummed. We have only done take out and have been supporting small business. Today we thought we'd support Michigan's own, even tho it's a chain, the sandwich in the picture below was an original Olga, "make it larger", double gyro meat, extra sauce, light onion & extra sauce on the side. It cost me over $13 for this one small sandwich. And it was cold! So we've decided we've given this chain enough chances. This was the last time we patronize Olga's. And I spent 2 days going back & forth with Gwen at their IT Dept because the app wouldn't let me log in or create a new sign in. 2 days only to be told I needed to sign in thru their old program (link was include), change my password and then sign in with the new password on the app. Too much work, too little food & poor quality. Went here for my birthday dinner. After we ordered we were told the dining room was closed. We were told we could refill our drinks. Then someone blocked access to the drinks. Very disappointed. This spot recently changed to an order at the counter model. They then bring you meal to your table. Order taking was quick and efficient. The drink station was clean, with many soda options. All the condiments were available there too, including carryout boxes if you want to take some home. Food arrived about 5 minutes after sitting down. They still use nice plates, but the plastic wear fork and knife were flimsy. I'd suggested going with the real deal as long as you're using nice plates. Note they no longer serve deserts. This meal ended up working out despite several bumps in the road. First, bless the hard-working lady who was manning the front solo on Sunday evening. When we came in she let us know that it was carryout only because she was the only one there. Ok, no problem, we had planned to eat in but we ordered to go instead. Despite how harried she obviously was, she was still super nice. We started ordering, but know that for whatever reason this location doesn't offer several entree options, including the Olga burger and 2 or 3 others. (They might consider it because my aunt was going to order it, as well as the guy right after her!) We all went with the original Olga and I got the zucchini fries which I recall having years ago. Despite the short staff, the wait wasn't long. I have to say, Olga's has still got it. A gyro here is better than anywhere else (it's the sauce and the bread!) The zucchini fries would have likely been best fresh out of the fryer but still weren't bad. Still a Michigan favorite! Hope they can get more help soon. read more

Yum! We love Olga's. They are limited in their vegan options, but we were able to find something to eat! Note: I don't know if their pita bread is vegan, but we are it anyway because it is delicious! My mom and I tried out this Olga's location today, because we had a gift card and planned on doing some shopping at 12 Oaks afterwards. I had never been to the Novi location - my local location is the Troy one - and this one was quite nice, decor-wise. It looked like it was newer or had been newly updated. Olga's used to have an unlimited soup, salad, and Snackers deal, but I didn't see it on the menu, so I asked the waitress about it ... it's still valid but is NOT listed on the menu, which IMO is kind of sneaky. It's $8.19 which is a great deal, price-wise, especially considering their normal salad + soup pairing (with a larger salad, to be fair) is $7.49. I ordered a grilled chicken Olga, but with the same toppings as the fried chicken one (garlic aioli, onion, and tomato). Once we sat down and ordered, it took about 30 minutes to receive our food, which seemed excessive - I was about to ask our waitress about it but then our food appeared. There were other little hitches during the meal, too - the waitress cleared our plates but never brought more utensils, so my mom had to ask for a spoon for her soup, and for another fork and knife at one point. I'm a huge fan of the Snackers and those were tasty per usual. My sandwich was also good, but for $7.99 (with no sides) it's on the pricer side. You can add curly fries or another side for $1.99, which would have brought it up to ~ $10. Overall, I wasn't really impressed with this Olga's, but because the food was good, I'd give it 3 stars out of 5. Waitservice was "average" at best (but really below average, because of a few issues throughout). I do like this location better than the Troy one, aesthetic-wise, but I've never waited as long for food at that location as we did here. read more

They have a new concept for the flow of business: You pay at the register when you come in. I wasn't prepared for this, so my family of 4 had to slide to the side to figure out our order. You are prompted when ordering to tip. I am not anti-tipping, but since there are no servers, then I can assume no one is making servers wages. Why am I tipping? Then again, I want good service, so I feel pressured to tip... I digress... You get your own drinks, silverware etc, and you are expected to return all the plates, very much like Panera, except the food is delivered to your table. The food came out VERY quickly, and seemed to be decent quality for the price and speed. Kids eat free on Sunday, our total for 2 adults and 2 kids was $30, plus a $6 tip, so $36, which is honestly cheaper than a fast food restaurant. We will return, but I worry that this is a sign that Olga's may not be doing well. read more

A great Olgas experience for my wife and our friends! We ordered the snacker plate with hummus as an appetizer for the table. The snackers were SO GOOD and the hummus was great too! I only wish it came with more! For an entre, I ordered the veggie Olga which was also very good! I love the Olga bread and I thought the size of the wrap was perfect for lunch! Because I checked in on Yelp, I also received a free dessert so I decided to go with the Olga Donuts and was pleasantly surprised! I didn't think donuts would be great at a restaurant like this, but they were warm and fluffy with a ton of flavor! Dipping them in the warm raspberry sauce made it taste like a gourmet toaster strudel! I will definitely be back--this may even be my new go to lunch spot! read more

Olga's has totally changed the dining in experience. Everything is self serve drinks, utensils, napkins. You place your order at the carry out counter they give you a number and bring all the food at once. Before you would get the soup and then your sandwich, the food was good but that was all, plastic cups for water no glasses. Never going back. read more

If I could I'd give zero stars. I haven't had Olga's in awhile and I was craving an Olga! The drive-thru was backed up so I went inside to order my to go, small Olga salad and an original Olga. This is what I received: the salad had no romain lettuce just iceberg, 1 cherry tomato cut in half, 2 1" slices of onion., 1 olive. It was pathetic. The Olga meat was extremely dry, 3 small slices of onion (what were they running out of onion!) and the tomato slices were ORANGE. At first I thought is was an orange pepper! To say this was disappointing is an understatement, but my dog was happy. I will not return to this location again most likely. I expect more from a chain restaurant, mainly consistently in their product. read more

I have never been to a restaurant that was so dirty, The floors were so sticky that you could hardly walk on them, the tables were dirty, and the condiment bottles looked like they have never been wiped clean. Growing up Olga's used to be one of my favorites... I haven't been to Olga's in a few years so I thought I would go back and see if it was how I remembered it... When my boyfriend and I got to Olga's we were both hesitant on going in but we did and boy did we regret it. I ended up ordering order their well known "Creamy" Broccoli Soup for a starter but when I got it the soup was dripping off my spoon like it was a leaky faucet. My boyfriend got the Chicken Shawarma Olga and when he took his first bite he was saying that it was like eating cardboard since it was so dry... I ordered the Turkey Club and when she bought it out I was very disappointed considering the club was only bacon a thick piece of turkey, lettuce, and their house sauce which turned out to be mayo. No cheese or tomato. Their pita bread was too mushy to the point where it was undercook. When our waitress came over to refill my Pepsi instead of taking my glass back she brought out a pitcher of Pepsi and poured more into my glass... (I thought they only do that at bowling alleys) When we told our waitress that we were ready for our bill her mood changed from being all nice to being grumpy. Our waitress was taking forever to come back to collect our payment so my boyfriend decided to go up to the front pay but another waitress screamed to our waitress "your table is trying to pay" like what is paying now a crime??? Either way he still went up the front to pay and literally no one was at the front counter and he waited 10 mins to come back the table just so our waitress could take the bill and then take 15 mins giving us our receipt. I've never been so dissatisfaction over Olga's but after that experience neither my boyfriend or I will return Other than that the snackers are still good and that was the only good thing that came out of that horrible experience. read more

I grew up loving Olga's! I have memories of going there as a kid and we have been a regulars for 40+ years. That said, we've had consistently mediocre service experiences in recent years. Today, we had a downright rude young host who refused to move a set of disposable silverware from one table to another so we would better maintain social distancing (the table he directed us to is the LEAST social distanced in the restaurant as it is right by the cash register with the most foot traffic). There were literally five other parties seated at a total of what must be 25-30 tables, so plenty of choice and ability to distance. What angered me more than anything was that he said "It's just easier [for me] if you sit here." He then argued he is not allowed to seat at a table (only a booth) despite the fact that a woman was at a table and he cleaned the table I wanted only moments ago from another party. None of it made sense. We sat as directed, but I was angry. The last straw was that he proceeded to seat the next party (also two people, not a large party or anything) at the table I originally requested immediately after me. It would have been so very easy for him just to say "yes" to me. The manager did come over and tried to apologize on behalf of the host, but half defended the host. The service was slow throughout. The server brought my son a beverage glass with a big cut and sharp chunk missing (we sent it back). As much as we love the food (though the spinach pie is not what it used to be!) we're having a difficult time returning as this poor service continues to keep us away. I served in restaurants all though college and I know they can do better than this! read more
