I'm struggling to find reasons to hate this one as much as everyone else seems to. I had no idea it was so despised. It's a place you'd never know about unless you drove by it or saw it recommended somewhere because people have almost never talked about it. The sandwiches range from unappetizing to great. Plenty of types to choose from and some unique options. Nothing nearly as groundbreaking as the theming implies, but far more interesting and quality than many other sandwich and sub places. Cranberry sauce on a sandwich was not invented here, but you won't find it anywhere else in the area. The salads used to be cold and unimpressive, but they've actually improved significantly. The chicken is bad and basically inedible, but that's true at almost every place of this caliber. For a few bucks more you get something way better and more appetizing than what you could at a Subway or Jimmy Johns. It's a step or two above Panera Bread. The shop is very spacious and large with a lot of cool decor and arrangements, but with the hours you'd never come here to eat in. They used to be open on Saturdays (and would sometimes hang up on you) but have cut their narrow times to basically nothing. Carryouts couldn't be more convenient. First time here. I didn't know it was a "grab and go" place; I thought there would be servers. Upon walking in, there is a big menu board. Wraps and sandwiches you can get small or large. Small doesn't mean half a sandwich, it means less meat/ veggies. We ordered an avocado tweener (wrap), Two way Reuben, italian wedding soup, and a fountain drink. I don't know if the tweener was small or large (I forgot to specify), but it definitely looked like a small. Tweeners and sandwiches come with a super small pickle but they forgot to give us our pickles. A bag of regular chips also comes with it unless you tell them you want bbq. The place sucks... no other way to put it. We have ordered twice now since our office relocated close to this establishment . Food is mediocre at best. They just can't get an order right . Multiple items wrong both times , have to drive back to get situated . The lunch comes with chips you have to remind them , hey can I get the chips as they are never in the bag. They were out of roast beef but it didn't prompt that when ordering online , I show up they tell me in person and had to wait another 15 min for one wrap. You would think to call and let me know . I suspect this business won't continue to last until they clean up their service and accuracy. read more

Was there today. They open at 9am. I entered at 09:15am. Place is empty. No one at the front counter. After 5 minutes, I had make myself scene through there door leading to the kitchen. I ordered coffee. The gal informed he she had to make the coffee. #1, they use a regular home coffee pot. #2, she pulled out a large red container of Folgers! 15 minutes later, the coffee was done and - the best part - served in a Star Bucks cup! I had to ask "is this Starbucks"? She said "no, we just have lots of these cups". Ha!!! When I tried to get the WiFi password, the guy working clearly did not know, he guessed and disappeared. I gave up and used my hot spot. Lots of door dash. Lots of people getting carry out lunch for the office or shop. Only two tables with people eating in. They won't let me rate zero! Ordered soup and it wasn't even half way filled. Called the store and was told well they don't fill it all the way for travel purposes. So they are having customers pay full price for half portions, instead of purchasing larger containers and giving the Customer a reasonable portion size. Paying $7 for 6oz of soup is ridiculous. Only giving 4 stars because although they serve Starbucks specialty drinks, they never offer any non-dairy milk alternatives for the latte options. Almost $9 for a Reuben with a bag of chips. The potion size is adequate - not the monster, over-stuffed sandwiches that seem to prevalent elsewhere. Grill marks on the bread were a good sign, but the bread did not have the bit of grill crunch that I prefer. Sauerkraut ... insufficiently sauer. Dressing ... insufficient tang/zip. Corned beef ... I am uncertain it it was really corned beef. It may have been very, very thinly sliced ham. I prefer the corned beef in my Reuben to be thick sliced. Service was quick at 1pm. This has become one of my new go-to lunch spots. I have tried many sandwiches thus far and have not been disappointed. The Italian, the Corned Beef, and the Reuben are 3 of my favorites. I don't recall their exact names. The sandwiches can be ordered either Small or Large. I have always ordered the Large, and have been very full for the remainder of the day. One of these days, I'll try the Small... But they are so good that I can't help myself. A large sandwich, chips, and soda is approx $12. I would caution that this is not fast food. Yummy! Is what my tummy is saying right now! We ordered the Rockwell's pastrami and Picasso turkey abstract with Black Cherry Boylan pops. I was a little hesitant at first with cream cheese in the pastrami sandwich, but you can't even really taste it. It compliments the sandwich very well along with they mustard and banana peppers. The turkey sandwich on the other hand was a little too sweet for my husband. I offered the other half of my sandwich to him and was sad I did because I wanted more! We would definitely be back again. I've tried it both ways and I like the smaller amount better as I think you get more flavor out of the sandwhich that way. They also have great soups. I'm going to give this place another shot because it's too cute, with too much variety -- I'll eventually find something I like, right? -- to be just two stars, but that's how I would rate my first trip. I ordered a $9 meal of half a sandwich and a bowl of soup. For the very reason I settled with the turkey abstract under "works of art" was the downfall: the mix of cranberry sauce, light cream cheese and horseradish sauce. It was just too much. I like condiments to be a complement to the meat, even if it's only turkey, not be overpowering. The cranberry walnut bread that it was on was also unusual. I think a plainer bread would've worked better with all the various flavors going on in between the slices. I did not take more than one bite, and I hate wasting food. As for the soup, the chicken chili did not have chicken. I was tempted to ask if I even got the right one, but it was the only chili on the menu. Instead, it was all beans, with garlic croutons and cheese on top. No spice. I couldn't tell you whether the chili base was thin or thick because it really was ALL beans. I'm disappointed that what I thought was a unique sandwich selection just didn't work. Sometimes, you take a chance and it just doesn't fit your taste buds. Sometimes, it works. This time, it was the former. Finally, the cost. Nine bucks without a drink. So if I had gotten one, it would've been around $11-$12, which is outrageous because it's half a sandwich and a bowl of soup. However, I do like the cafe. I had the Ni's chicken salad sandwich under the "Classics" on their menu.. Even though they are cold sandwiches I learnt that if you request them to grill these they would do it for you! I like my sandwiches hot so I requested them if they could grill mine, even though it was a croissant sandwich..I was surprised to see how beautifully it was grilled.. It was totally contrary to what I had expected of grilling a croissant sandwich. It was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside! On the end of an average strip mall in Novi you will find this dynamite lunch spot. With a clean and simple interior, and a nicely shaded outdoor patio, this deli is a great alternative to eating another lunch at your desk. While they have many "works of art" that are worth trying my co worries and I love the Dali's Surreal Veggie sandwich, and would happily recommend this tasty sandwich to anyone, not just vegans and vegetarians. This masterpiece is the perfect mix of fresh ingredient and flavors. Coming loaded with hummus, avocado, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, red onion, sprouts & the best honey dijon sauce it is sure to satisfy! The standout sauce uses real honey and a kick of mustard the blend every flavor together into a "work of art". Now request the sandwich to be grilled, and you have just pushed your work of art over the top. The only area to improve on would be the sandwich bread. It seemed like your basic store bought bread, and wasn't from a fresh local bakery. An upgrade to fresher breads would take this sandwich shop up a notch and set this restaurant apart from its competition. Sandwich/salad/soup joint. Perfect for lunch with friends. I got a sandwich with chips and a pickle. It was just shy of $10, which is a bit high for me. But the sandwich was very very good. I wish it had more sauce, but by the time I took everything off of it so I could eat it ... it wasn't really the sandwich they offered. So I will not deduct stars. It was very busy. For those of you residing in or near the Novi area, Picasso Cafe is a place that you must try. A family-owned business, their slogan is "where every sandwich is a work of art!" A work of art indeed for my eyes and delicious in my tummy. Their sandwiches and salads are made fresh everyday with high quality meat and served on fresh baked bread. According to their "About Us," their goal is "to make the best sandwiches you'll ever eat." I have to say, they make some pretty darn good sandwiches. My first foray into Picasso Cafe's scrumptious offerings was with "Van Gogh's Symbolic Corned Beef." Lean corned beef, sliced dill pickles, lettuce, tomato and mustard on Marble Rye, sans the swiss cheese, and grilled on a Panini made this sandwich a winner. Most cafes are a bit stingy but Picasso Cafe offers generous portions aka huge sandwiches. On my second outing to Picasso Cafe, I tried "Picasso's Turkey Abstract" which tasted like a post-Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich in the best way. Imagine sliced turkey breast, hummus instead of lite cream cheese, cranberry sauce, lettuce, tomato, sprouts and creamy horseradish sauce on cranberry walnut bread also toasted on a Panini. Crunchy, sweet, salty goodness in one $7 sandwich? Sounds good to me. The cafe itself is clean with several booths along the side, a few high rise tables near the windows and standard tables throughout. Though they can get a little busy, I've never felt rushed to order. They're also willing to accommodate any substitutions for picky or health-conscious eaters. If you're not in the mood for a sandwich, try from their vast selection of Hot Wraps, Salads, Tweeners, even Espresso beverages and kid's meals. I have mixed feelings about this place. I've only been there once, and I'm not sure if there is any need to go back. While there were a lot of options, all of them were pretty run of the mill. No interesting ingredients, no unique combinations. I went there for pastrami, which they were out of, so I settled for the roast beef. While it tasted good, it was cold inside, and was pretty pricey ($9). Calling their sandwiches "works of art" is a little pretentious since there is nothing notable about them.
