I was in the area for an appointment when I realized it was close to dinner-time and I was in the mood (as always) for some Jamaican food. Yelp showed me a spot a few miles away! I rush over to Oley's to grab up my go- to meal of Jerk chicken, rice n peas, collard greens, and cabbage, with a seemingly complimentary tiny corn bread. The restaurant was in the hood, which was a great sign (wink), it smelled ok, food looked good, and I was excited about possibly discovering a new favorite spot. Ummm...not so fast. I am going to keep it a 100. The jerk wasn't jerkin', the cabbage tasted like sweaty socks, and the collard greens had a hint of sourness. Sorry my peoples, but this ain't it.

Solid soul food and carb bean joint. The jerk chicken is ridiculous. So juicy and tender and full of flavor. The mac snd cheese was good. The rice was a little dry. Overall I'm a huge fan.

A blend of BBq and Caribbean?!? Yes please! This is my favorite Caribbean spot in town! I try to stop in here at least once a month. Their jerk chicken is some of the best I've had! It's very saucey, which I like. I get it with rice and peas and hush puppies - but they have a lot of side options. Parking is easy and service is always friendly. I just wish they offered beer! If you want some good bbq or Caribbean, definitely check this place out!

Customer service is great here. The older gentleman server was very hospitable and kind to us. He even asked the cook to let us order breakfast even though it was 5min after end of breakfast. Breakfast is good. BBQ is delicious, ribs were smokey and "fall off the bone" meat was delicious. Mac and cheese was okay, yams were tasty and served in a mashed style. Gotta try the collards next time we come. Pancakes were okay, omelet was a meat lovers and not too much meat. Lots of good cheese though on the omelet. Home fries are home made cut, seasoned and cooked like home. I enjoyed my time here. This is a comfortable place to eat. There were a lot of people who seemed to come in after Church to eat and our server was nice to everyone. I found it nice that the owner graduated from Bethune-Cookman University, an awesome HBCU! Love that it was displayed at this business!

I've been on the hunt for great soul food since we moved and Oley's is it. The vibe is what you want, old school pictures on the wall, the same paint job from the 90's , aunties arguing about the menu and a server that sits down to take your order. What I liked: the fried chicken, whiting, greens, yams and Lima beans were all great. Just ok : I wasn't crazy about the cornbread or cabbage. But that's just personal preference. Already been back and will be going back to try more.

Four and a half stars for a mash up of Jamaican and Southern (yup you read that right) cuisine. The online order system was really finicky and took forever to go through anddd it sent the wrong info to the restaurant- it was the weirdest thing- my email confirmation was correct but the receipt that printed on their end was not- the restaurant staff were super nice and re did the order with the right meats, which was very much appreciated. They all wore masks as well. They brought the order out curbside. I dock half a star because the packaging of the food wasn't great- it would have been much better if the curry and jerk were packed separately (those two flavors don't really go together)& they were both on top of all the rice and peas which also would have been better packed separately. The food itself was delicious, and I'd definitely order from them again, though maybe by phone. I'd skip the red velvet cake- it was very sweet, didn't have the depth you'd expect from red velvet and was a pretty small slice. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Oley's- definitely much better than it looks from the outside! Glad for Yelp including it on the black owned business list or I probably wouldn't have found it since I don't go to this part of town usually.

My coworker wanted to introduce me to this place and I'm so glad he did! The vibes were right and the food was really good and came out to our table quick and piping hot! Our server was a sweetheart. We will for sure be spending more lunch breaks here!

Please forgive me for only one picture. This place food is always good. We had Fried Chicken smothered in gravy, sweet potatoes, potato salad, okra and tomatoes, cabbage. We also purchased lemon and red velvet cakes.

Smothered meatloaf on yellow rice. Fried okra, cornbread and cabbage.

It only makes sense that the soul and Caribbean cultures come together in Florida. From fried chicken and collards to oxtail and cabbage, this unassuming location houses a myriad of classics that'll make any local feel right at home. Drive slow, as this place is quick to miss. You'll be glad you gave it a shot.

The giant NOW OPEN banner was flapping like it personally invited me, and the storefront painted in bold Trinidad flag colors looked ready to hand out citizenship papers with every order. I walked in thinking I'd grab a quick bite. Rookie mistake, one look at the doubles and suddenly I'm ordering five. Then I'm calling my aunt and cousin like it's a family emergency: "Allyuh want doubles? Because these looking SERIOUS." Next thing you know, I'm walking out with ten doubles like I'm catering a small festival. And let me tell you, these doubles? Soft bara, perfectly seasoned channa, pepper and tamarind sauce hugging everything like a warm Caribbean auntie. I've basically been on a doubles‑only diet since, and honestly, I feel spiritually aligned. I even ate one cold from the fridge and it still slapped. That's when you know it's real. Then there's the boneless curry chicken with buss‑up‑shut. Pure comfort. The kind of meal that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. The potatoes were soft enough to spread on a cracker, the channa was rich and earthy, and the chicken tasted like somebody's grandmother was in the back whispering, "Put a lil' more seasoning, nah." The buss‑up‑shut was fluffy, torn, and ready to scoop up every drop of curry like it had a mission. And the pepper sauce? Flavorful. Respectful. Not trying to fight me or send me to the ER. A rare and beautiful thing. The place is clean, the parking is plentiful, and the staff has real Trini accents that instantly make everything feel more authentic. Even the way they say "Next!" has rhythm. Next time, I'm calling ahead for dhal phourie, because clearly this place does not miss and I'm not risking it selling out. If you see me there again, mind your business! I'm probably ordering another ten doubles and living my best life.

I happened to find Sherry's Trini while I was in Orlando for an exam and decided to give it a try. I ordered the potato and channa roti with pepper sauce on the side. The potato and channa was yum, well-seasoned. The pepper sauce was everything I needed. Now for the roti itself. If you're accustomed to a good dhalpuri or buss up shut, this one might leave you wanting a little more. It wasn't bad, but it lacked that soft, delicate, flaky texture. The filling was carrying the meal more than the roti did. Overall though, I appreciated finally finding a place in Florida serving Trini food that actually tastes like somebody put some love into it. It's hard to come by down here. While the roti wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, the potato and channa definitely satisfied the craving and I'd still come back to get some other fixes.

It's Easter Friday so I was craving carrot cake. This was place was a bonus to order from since…read morethey also offered regular food that I could get dinner with my dessert. Plus, they were on Uber Eats and I didn't feel like going out. Ordered my usual Jamaican dish - brown stew chicken with rice and peas and vegetables. Started out with the carrot cake - 10/10. Cake was moist, cream cheese icing was creamy and not too sweet, a good amount of carrots in the cake, a big portion sliced in half for sharing, and an affordable price. Brown stew chicken - 5/10. Ok flavor, but the chicken was kind of dry. I would have liked extra gravy but was unable to make that special request. Rice and peas - 10/10. Rice was good, nice hint of coconut milk, peas cooked perfectly. Veggies - 2/10. Bland AF. Everything except for the cabbage tastes like it came from a can. Plantain - 2/10. Bland, kinda dry. Would only order from here again for the carrot cake.

The jerk chicken, I got with rice and peas, mixed veggies and cabbage. The cabbage was a little strange to me- not as I imagined from Jamaica steamed cabbage. The mixed veggies were also basic - like boiled frozen mixed veggies. The rice and peas were overall good but tasted a little on the hard side. The chicken though! This was the highlight - it was very flavorful, though I wish I would be able to have the sauce on the side.. For the fried chicken meal - the fried chicken was nice and hot. I got this to-go and was worried it would get soggy but it still tasted great when I got home. Environment This is located in a plaza tucked away near the corner. It seems to be a more takeout restaurant. There is some seats inside for your to enjoy the food. Since it is in a plaza, there is plenty of parking available, but in front of the restaurant could be a bit tricky. Niceness of the staff I would say she was not on the nice side. No one greeted me upon entering also they seemed preoccupied and did not once gave eye-contact. Definitely not friendly.. but nonetheless I got my food. Dollar It is like the bang for your buck. We also hd the Jerk Caulifolower bites - a little sweet and spicy sauce and we all agreed this was the best dish we had! We had the Curried Goat stew - a weak curry and did not really have any spice to it. The Reggae Jamaican Jerk Chicken had a sweet spice and sticky sauce - next best dish we had. We also ordered the Coco bread- which was disappointing andd I do not recommend. It was just bread with some butter in it and definitely overpriced for what you got! Cocktails were rather weak.
