The food was awesome. Very flavorful with large portions. I would recommend them very much if you want any meal, breakfast, lunch or dinner.

In Orlando for a few days and my Jamaican husband wanted good food. While in the grocery store we asked for recommendations and a Rasta Man said this place right here- he did not lie! Yummy fresh well served portions. read more

PAY ATTENTION!!! SILVER STAR LOCATION ***You ask for a large plate they put the same amount of food as a small and charge you for a large. They have the worst customer service ever. They are rude, mean and have nasty attitudes. They get upset with you when you say something to them about your plate. read more

If you're looking for a tasty authentic plate of Jamaican cuisine, check out this place! They have multiple locations, even in Sanford. Ambiance (2/5): Prefer this location over the Kirkman Rd site, however it does not deliver a dine experience. So, order ahead or plan to go! Taste (4/5): I've visited numerous times and I always go for the stew chicken or curry chicken with rice & peas and their cabbage or plantains. Portion (5/5): Great for Sunday dinner or if you wish to have leftovers for lunch next day as the portion size for a small is generous as shown Price (5/5): $12-13 General: Customer service isn't so friendly, but the wait isn't long. I've had plates that were better than others, so it could depend on staff and day. read more

While on my way to our old friends house, I decided to stop and grab some food. As a native Jamaican, I decided to try this place because I was just in the mood for Caribbean food. So I came here and stood in line and was about to order. However, this gentleman was standing in front of me before the lady came over to the side to just ask what I wanted to order, however, this gentleman was in front of me and I know he didn't order, nor did he hear her. So I leaned over to him just a little bit to ask if he ordered already or what he wanted. He didn't hear me either. So the lady then said to me "he don't wanna order so just go ahead". Poor way to handle that!!!!!!! Now I know Caribbean people very well, and being 'nasty nice' sadly seems like it's a part of our culture. However, it would've just been easy if she asked a gentleman in front of me in a louder tone, what he wanted. Instead, what we had was a situation where after I ordered, he finally realize and then she explain the story to him how he wasn't listening/tuned out. However, I've made about three or four reviews like this where I state that a company has great food but poor people skills and it's something that I believe every company needs to have before you even start serving your food. Your food gets people in the door, and then your service is what keeps them coming back for more. Again, another restaurant that could use a touch in people skills and of course I'm not talking about all the employees there because I didn't meet all of them and the person who took my order was much different than the person who actually cashed me out. Just Gotta be better on that front, outside of that the food was amazing and cooked to perfection. Cabbage was delicious rice and peas was good, and also the oxtail was fall off the bone, extremely close to it anyway. Not sure if I would necessarily come back, but definitely if I'm in that area and I'm Feeling for Jamaican food then I would have no choice but to return. read more

Delicious food all around! I the large jerk chicken plate with sides of cabbage & rice & beans. It's a small place, you order at counter & have a couple seating areas indoors or most people I saw did takeout. Service was good but it's no frills. The ladies were sweet to me. You definitely get great food for the price. Can't wait to come back & try the ox tail. read more

Make sure to specify the meat you want. Lunch special. Long line but they have stripe and ting. I asked for dark meat and they told me that that's what I have as you can see its White meat, and they refused to change it. Waste of my money honestly because I don't eat white meat. read more

I've tried a few different dishes here & each one was flavorful but sooo spicy. I USED to be able to handle spicy foods like a pro but, Lord be a bottle of Pepto cause I can't do it now! Most recently I ordered the curry chicken roti & a beef patty. The beef patty was decent & I enjoyed as much of the curry chicken roti as I could before I had to call it quits due to the heat. I received a nice portion for the price. With that being said, I'm gonna give Negril another go & try ordering the snapper next time. There's no way that the snapper can be made spicy, right?....right? read more

I always heard about this place but never went. Until the other day my friend from Cocoa told me he was going there bc they have $5.99 lunch. Where in the world can you get $6 lunch? Food that is hearty good from the first step inside the door. The aroma of Jamaican spices, language, and their island vibes will appease you. Enough of that! The food was great. I had the Jerk chicken with rice and peas, cabbage as my side. Also ox- tail gravy. Please try them you won't regret it. read more

Visited this restaurant on Monday and it was my first time. The customer service was good. However the food was NOT. I got the fried chicken with oxtail gravy and rice and peas. The rice and peas tasted like parboiled rice which in my opinion is a no no when cooking authentic Jamaican rice and peas and the chicken was so dry and bland and that gravy did not taste like oxtail gravy. Will not be returning because the food simply didn't taste good. read more

This is hands down the best Jamaican food around and you can either come here to the original location or to their other one which is on Kirkman. This one has a weekly lunch special for $6.99 that can't be beat! Food is always plentiful and delicious! Flavors are always on point and seasonings are spot on. Our favorites are the Ox tails, brown stew, jerk chicken and Curry Goat. read more

The oxtail was nasty as fuck...what a waste of money Jah Jah. I will never order again

I was craving some Caribbean food and couldn't find any Haitian restaurants in the area. I'm not usually a fan of Jamaican food but I googled and saw that this restaurant was near and it would satisfy my tastebuds for Caribbean food. The restaurant was very clean and there was also a bar area. I ordered the brown stew chicken and dumplings. The brown stew chicken was the best I've ever had. The rice and peas was also amazing. I wanted to try the Mac & Cheese but I came late in the afternoon and they had already run out. The dumplings were a little hard and dry so I'll pass on that. I have definitely visited a couple of times and will continue to eat here for my Caribbean fix read more

Great food, Average service, and Good Ambiance. I have no complaints. Worth the repeat

My mother is Jamaican and she is the one that reconmended Negril Restaurant! So I knew it had to be good. I had a taste for some ackee & saltfish, calalloo, plantains, everything. Negril is on the corner of Powers and Silver Star, very easy to find. I walked in and it was very clean, the menu is on a TV screen and the food is already cooked, you just say what you would like to order. I was there at breakfast time but will definitely be trying their lunch/dinner, which I heard is delicious. They serve the Jamaican classics there if you are familiar. There was only one person serving and checking out so it did take a little while to order. The ackee and saltfish had huge chunks of saltfish in there and the calalloo was not too salty, just like how my mom makes it. There was a lot of oil in the pan, but I asked her to strain it first. It is served with fried dumpling and plantain, or you can ask for yams and boiled banana. They also had Jamaican porridge, patties, and bun n cheese. The best part is that they give you a huge amount of food for about $6-8 depending on what you are getting! They were also nice and friendly. I have been to most of the Jamaican spots in Orlando and Negril is definitely a contender if you are feeling for some Jamaican food. If you have never had Jamaican food I would check them out, it's flavorful and one meal is enough to share with two people. Great spot and I recommend! read more

Came here only for the lunch special that was on their website, just to be told they do not do the lunch specials on Saturday. The website says differently. After the girl just kept saying "no, no , no"....I said and tried to show her the website. By this time I am aggravated and really did not want the food, but I had a small group with me. She did eventually go and ask someone in the back (allegedly) and came back saying that is only for their new location elsewhere. I dont do business like this, but went ahead and got some food since I was with others - otherwise I would have walked out already. Everyone had jerk chicken which was mostly black and dried out. The rice and peas with the curry gravy on it was tasty, and so were the few plantains. 1 bathroom, which is clean , as well as a small sitting area with bar stools . I was only in the area for a special occasion, and will not return. Small jerk chicken plate is $9 - not worth it , but the lunch specials would be something to check out- depending on the size plate they give. Ps. The man peeing on the pole outside of the restaurant in the middle of the day was a nice touch. smh. read more

If you are looking a some quick authentic Jamaican food this is it. 10$ dollars for a large plate and they are not stingy with the rice lol. While in FL I make an effort to try and grab some braised ox tail! A trip to FL wouldn't be complete. Negril's oxtail was amazing! Flavors were great and had a nice hint of spice. First thing you need to know... if you are in a rush don't come here to eat! Although they make your orders pretty fast, the line was almost out the door. There were 16 people in line ahead of me when I came in. If you have time to eat them come here for sure for Jamaican cuisine. So I ordered the small jerk chicken chicken dinner that came with your choice of rice and a side. I chose rice and peas for my rice and my side was plantains. I seen a lot of people in front of me get oxtail gravy on their rice, so I decided to try that as well. It was a game changer! The gravy made the rice even better!! The jerk chicken was tender, seasoned to perfection, and was on the milder side. The plantains were cooked to perfection... not too hard or soft. The customer service was really good and the workers had smiles on their faces which made me want to eat there. If you are getting the dinners for yourself, the small is just the right size. I'm a nice size guy, but it filled me all the way up! I'm going to frequent this place whenever I'm in the mood for Jamaican food! read more

I ordered from Uber Eats... they then call 20 minutes later saying they are out of 2 items I ordered. I change my order. They give the wrong order to my uber driver and Shurrie is extremely rude and tells me it's not her fault even though she confirms she watched my driver leave with the wrong food. She then tells me on the phone that "my food should be still warm." Even though she knows it's been sitting for 30 minutes plus the amount of time it will take for the driver to pick it up and bring it to me. When I ask her if she would want to hear that response if the roles were reversed she said she would check the food and then hung up on me. I call 20 minutes later and she has an attitude again and when I tell her I'm going to speak with the owner she says ok have a good day and hangs up. I expect a phone call read more

My favorite Jamaican spot in the city! Every time I go the line is out the door. Stewed chicken, rice and peas as well as the oxtails are to die for! The sauce is so good and flavorful. I had Negril for dinner tonight for dinner and was surprisingly disappointed. I have long been the biggest fan of Negril's oxtail but after not having their food for a few months, I was not pleased at all. The food was so spicy that I couldn't enjoy it and then the cabbage was so soft that it was literally mush on my plate. If the could go back to their old recipes on cooking I would go back, but I do not foresee myself going back to Negril anytime soon! read more

I'm from a place where there are no good jamaican restaurants so when I went to Disney world I had to stop and get some good jamaican cuisine before returning home. I decided to go to 2 places and this was one of them. This was actually ny 2nd choice and I wished it had of been my first. The food here is awesome. The service needs to step up a little bit. The severs seem kind of rude and brisque. I got the oxtail dinner place with rice and peas and 2 sides plaintains and cabbage. They gave a hearty serving of oxtails. The food was really good. The meat seasoned really well and had a little kick to it. Rice and peas weren't mushy, cooked just right. Cabbage could of been a little more tender but was fine. Meal was $13.
