If you're looking for a tasty authentic plate of Jamaican cuisine, check out this place! They have multiple locations, even in Sanford. Ambiance (2/5): Prefer this location over the Kirkman Rd site, however it does not deliver a dine experience. So, order ahead or plan to go! Taste (4/5): I've visited numerous times and I always go for the stew chicken or curry chicken with rice & peas and their cabbage or plantains. Portion (5/5): Great for Sunday dinner or if you wish to have leftovers for lunch next day as the portion size for a small is generous as shown Price (5/5): $12-13 General: Customer service isn't so friendly, but the wait isn't long. I've had plates that were better than others, so it could depend on staff and day.

Good food we were eating it, we were disappointed about the food. I were eat here always busy lunch. I ordered oxtail with rice with spicy sauce, always the best.

While on my way to our old friends house, I decided to stop and grab some food. As a native Jamaican, I decided to try this place because I was just in the mood for Caribbean food. So I came here and stood in line and was about to order. However, this gentleman was standing in front of me before the lady came over to the side to just ask what I wanted to order, however, this gentleman was in front of me and I know he didn't order, nor did he hear her. So I leaned over to him just a little bit to ask if he ordered already or what he wanted. He didn't hear me either. So the lady then said to me "he don't wanna order so just go ahead". Poor way to handle that!!!!!!! Now I know Caribbean people very well, and being 'nasty nice' sadly seems like it's a part of our culture. However, it would've just been easy if she asked a gentleman in front of me in a louder tone, what he wanted. Instead, what we had was a situation where after I ordered, he finally realize and then she explain the story to him how he wasn't listening/tuned out. However, I've made about three or four reviews like this where I state that a company has great food but poor people skills and it's something that I believe every company needs to have before you even start serving your food. Your food gets people in the door, and then your service is what keeps them coming back for more. Again, another restaurant that could use a touch in people skills and of course I'm not talking about all the employees there because I didn't meet all of them and the person who took my order was much different than the person who actually cashed me out. Just Gotta be better on that front, outside of that the food was amazing and cooked to perfection. Cabbage was delicious rice and peas was good, and also the oxtail was fall off the bone, extremely close to it anyway. Not sure if I would necessarily come back, but definitely if I'm in that area and I'm Feeling for Jamaican food then I would have no choice but to return.

Delicious food all around! I the large jerk chicken plate with sides of cabbage & rice & beans. It's a small place, you order at counter & have a couple seating areas indoors or most people I saw did takeout. Service was good but it's no frills. The ladies were sweet to me. You definitely get great food for the price. Can't wait to come back & try the ox tail.

Make sure to specify the meat you want. Lunch special. Long line but they have stripe and ting. I asked for dark meat and they told me that that's what I have as you can see its White meat, and they refused to change it. Waste of my money honestly because I don't eat white meat.

Received a suggestion to stop by here for some real Caribbean flavor. It was amazing!! The staff was pleasant and the food was indeed flavorful. The gps took me to the wrong location but I end up finding where I needed to be in no time. If you're in the mood for some good ox tails this is definitely a spot to try. You won't be disappointed.

I've tried a few different dishes here & each one was flavorful but sooo spicy. I USED to be able to handle spicy foods like a pro but, Lord be a bottle of Pepto cause I can't do it now! Most recently I ordered the curry chicken roti & a beef patty. The beef patty was decent & I enjoyed as much of the curry chicken roti as I could before I had to call it quits due to the heat. I received a nice portion for the price. With that being said, I'm gonna give Negril another go & try ordering the snapper next time. There's no way that the snapper can be made spicy, right?....right?

I always make a trip out to Negril when I am craving Jamaican food. Everything is fresh and the meat is tender. My favorite go to's are the curry and stew. The lunch special is always a great deal. They have a second location on Kirkman!

I ordered oxtail and rice and peas from this place it is spicy and the oxtail is nasty the the service is great won't be ordering again tho

I was craving some Caribbean food and couldn't find any Haitian restaurants in the area. I'm not usually a fan of Jamaican food but I googled and saw that this restaurant was near and it would satisfy my tastebuds for Caribbean food. The restaurant was very clean and there was also a bar area. I ordered the brown stew chicken and dumplings. The brown stew chicken was the best I've ever had. The rice and peas was also amazing. I wanted to try the Mac & Cheese but I came late in the afternoon and they had already run out. The dumplings were a little hard and dry so I'll pass on that. I have definitely visited a couple of times and will continue to eat here for my Caribbean fix

I enjoyed the Curry Goat Curry and it is simply amazing its flavor and softness of the roti and the meat, the perfect level of spiciness, I recommend it. The service was excellent and the restaurant is very clean, the cost of their dishes very accessible.

I always heard about this place but never went. Until the other day my friend from Cocoa told me he was going there bc they have $5.99 lunch. Where in the world can you get $6 lunch? Food that is hearty good from the first step inside the door. The aroma of Jamaican spices, language, and their island vibes will appease you. Enough of that! The food was great. I had the Jerk chicken with rice and peas, cabbage as my side. Also ox- tail gravy. Please try them you won't regret it.

The best item was the Fried Dumplings. They were fresh and cooked perfectly. The Pineapple Ginger Juice is a favorite. It's refreshing whether it's served bottled or from the fountain. Plus, they were on Uber Eats and I didn't feel like going out. Ordered my usual Jamaican dish - brown stew chicken with rice and peas and vegetables. Started out with the carrot cake - 10/10. Cake was moist, cream cheese icing was creamy and not too sweet, a good amount of carrots in the cake, a big portion sliced in half for sharing, and an affordable price. Brown stew chicken - 5/10. Ok flavor, but the chicken was kind of dry. I would have liked extra gravy but was unable to make that special request. Rice and peas - 10/10. Rice was good, nice hint of coconut milk, peas cooked perfectly. Veggies - 2/10. Bland AF. Everything except for the cabbage tastes like it came from a can. Plantain - 2/10. Bland, kinda dry. Would only order from here again for the carrot cake.

I was getting together with some friends and we ordered from Negril. Luckily, a couple of my friends are Jamaican and they helped steer me to some new faves! Food I'd highly recommend: - Brown stew chicken meal with rice and peas, fried plantain, and stewed cabbage. This dish is rich and has the potential for leftovers if you're not starving. For the uninitiated, Jamaican rice and peas consist of red kidney beans and rice that's cooked in broth, coconut milk, and tons of aromatic spices. This isn't your white rice and green peas type of situation. I could have eaten this rice on its own, but add in the brown stew sauce and WOW. Also, I love the cabbage side because it adds a vinegary note that offsets the rich stew. Note: The chicken is cut up and includes bones. - Coco bread: This is a Jamaican style bun baked with coconut milk. It's especially good when paired with a patty in the middle (yes, the coco bread around the patty! Carb heaven!). - Festival: Jamaican festival is a sweet fried dough made with cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and milk aka a dumpling. Yes this is as good as it sounds- especially for soaking up brown stew gravy! I was BLOWN away to see an entire veggie section of the menu (for online ordering) featuring soya veggie chunks (a soy based option with the consistency of chicken). That's a HUGE deal for those of us with vegetarians in the family. Overall, delicious Jamaican food that I'll definitely order again!

The jerk chicken, I got with rice and peas, mixed veggies and cabbage. The cabbage was a little strange to me- not as I imagined from Jamaica steamed cabbage. The mixed veggies were also basic - like boiled frozen mixed veggies. The rice and peas were overall good but tasted a little on the hard side. The chicken though! This was the highlight - it was very flavorful, though I wish I would be able to have the sauce on the side.. For the fried chicken meal - the fried chicken was nice and hot. I got this to-go and was worried it would get soggy but it still tasted great when I got home. Environment This is located in a plaza tucked away near the corner. It seems to be a more takeout restaurant. There is some seats inside for your to enjoy the food. Since it is in a plaza, there is plenty of parking available, but in front of the restaurant could be a bit tricky. Niceness of the staff I would say she was not on the nice side. Bob Marley A Tribute to Freedom met all these requirements and blew our expectations out of the water. Yes, it was a splurge, but it was some of the best food we have had. And, we had great music accompanying our meal. I ordered the Natty Dread Vegetable Pasties with yucca fries and sweet bread. The filling was delicious, but it was the pastry dough that knocked my socks off. My husband agreed! I also split an Island Mai Tai with my husband--a real, classic mai tai,l with orgeat--and it was perhaps the best we'd ever had. (It was $18, though, for maybe 8 ounces, including ice and fruit--yikes!) The spouse had the jerk chicken with rice and pidgeon peas and some sweet plantains. (I traded some of my sweet bread for some of those sweet plantains--yum!) He said it was the best food he had while in Orlando. Our 12yo got a vegetable stew (Itel Soup) with root vegetables, cassava dumplings, black beans, and plantains. She thought it was fine originally, asked for salt, and then really liked it. The husband got the 12yo's leftovers, and he thought it was great, too (but agreed that in needed salt and pepper). Nonetheless, she liked it, and we all found something on the menu we could enjoy. Finally, the server was amazing. He was so great managing our tired, grumpy 12yo (and her tired, grumpy parents). He was able to coax her into choosing a dish and eating it, too, which I don't know if we would have succeeded in doing without him. He also pointed our the many non-alcoholic beverage options, so she was able to have her own tasty drink, a Jamaican Cream Soda. There were *several* vegetarian dishes on the menu that looked fantastic and I would love to have a chance to try. I hope we can make it to Orlando again sometime to try those other dishes!

But instead we were seated right in front of the live band and it was so loud, we couldn't talk at all. The funny thing was that the restaurant was barely half full! Our waiter also had a tough time hearing us so we had to corret our orders a couple of times. They ran out of beef patties:-( that day. We decide to order some appetizers and a couple of entrees and shared. We had the Buffalo Soldier Jerk Wings - Had a nice spice to it and was quite delicious. We also hd the Jerk Caulifolower bites - a little sweet and spicy sauce and we all agreed this was the best dish we had! We had the Curried Goat stew - a weak curry and did not really have any spice to it. The Reggae Jamaican Jerk Chicken had a sweet spice and sticky sauce - next best dish we had. We also ordered the Coco bread- which was disappointing andd I do not recommend. It was just bread with some butter in it and definitely overpriced for what you got! Cocktails were rather weak. Server was just OK. He wasn't very attentive and did nothing to make our visit great.
