This is the most excellent restaurant. Clean and friendly. Well priced with excellent portions. We had the oxtail and the Curry goat. That came with rice and peas, cabbage plantains, and a dumpling. Portion size is stupendous and everyone is so very very friendly. We washed it all down with a red stripe and a Guinness.

Congratulations on the expansion ! The owners of Caribbean Sunshine Bakery have created a soul Food restaurant. I was able to try 2 meals: stewed chicken meal and a smothered pork chop meal. Both came with 2 sides and a cornbread muffin. The Mac and cheese was fiya !!!

I wanted to give a 4 rating based on the tenderness of the Oxtails but the young lady (red net on her head) attitude was a little stank. I asked what's the difference between the small and large dinners the 1st chick who took my order said "um 1 is larger than the other" I'm like no crap Sherlock. Normally you're told how many servings but ok, whatever. I then asked for hot sauce or butter (for my cornbread) and red hairnet said No! The lil guy that was helping them at the bar jumped in suggested I try a spicey sauce made of cabbage and peppers and it was very tasty.

Jerk chicken, rice and peas was fireeeee!! A little on the spicy side but delicious!! They were out of oxtail and cornbread. Would love to try that next time!!

I've been wondering for a while where to get some good stick to your ribs so food, so when my wife told us that Nikki's Place reached out to her to come try some authentic soul food, I had to join her. We had to make sure to get an array of different things to try as much as possible. So we ordered.. smothered pork chops, fried catfish and shrimp, lemon butter chicken wings, red rice, Collard greens, Lima beans, black eyed peas, cornbread, candied yams, mac and cheese, and some onion fries.. with some sweet tea. I want to tell you, every bite I took had me closing my eyes and smiling. My only complaint was the lima beans were a little bit salty, but when I ate it with everything else it didn't really matter. The lemon butter fried chicken wings were absolutely amazing. I have not tasted anything like that in my life. You can't go there and not get them. You need these wings. I'd also like to say that all the sides are meat-free , so vegetarians come get some . We ate till we were full, and we had enough to take home as well. We took an order of bread pudding home for dessert and that was absolutely delicious too. Overall absolutely great food. The staff took care of us very well. Highly recommended!

They kindly moved some tables around so we could sit together. We were so thirsty and the drinks hit the spot. You can mix the drinks to personalize them. My son got the fruit punch mixed with lemonade. I like to get half sweet and half unsweetened tea. We commenced to ordering. I got the lemon butter wing dinner again with the side of candied yams, yellow rice, and greens. The rest of the table got fried chicken, catfish and shrimp, ribs, and bbq chicken.. We all got a side of cornbread with our meal. We devoured. We got our fingers and mouths all sauced up and messy. We feasted. Everyone loved their meal and I felt like a hero for suggesting this fine, homey establishment. We decided that we couldn't fit dessert but greediness prevailed and we got desserts to go. Red velvet cake, peach cobbler, banana pudding, and lemon pound cake. The bread pudding is one of my faves. The banana pudding was nothing to write home about. Could have used some fresh bananas cut up in there. Last but not least, I have to mention our beautiful server, Audrey. She handled our table with a winning combination of love and skill. She has a lovely smiling face and her warmth shone through and made our dining experience that much better. I'll be back and will continue to introduce folks to this tiny treasure of a place.
