Great campground and RV Park overall. They have respectfully separated the tent campers from us RVers. We stayed with our RV in Site Bay 103, which backed up to a lovely meadow. Here are the sites I recommend for RV's (especially if you prefer a bit more privacy like we do): Bay 103 Or 104, Cedar 124-128, Dogwood 144, Gum 230, Fir 222, Elm 214. The wood is $12/bundle. There is a small kids play area and a small dog run. We stayed in the end of November and 2 Days before Thanksgiving it was busy but lovely, the day before Thanksgiving it was packed and like a different park altogether! VERY busy! We don't mind it, but if you prefer seclusion this isn't the park for you! We would definitely stay again, but probably only off season as I imagine in the summer it is packed and loud. We adore the town of Point Reyes Station, which is just a 5-minute drive away. We HIGHLY recommend Cafe Reyes for some of the best wood-fired pizza you'll ever have as well as spoiling yourself with some local oysters and a pint of beer. You deserve it! read more

I remember when this campground was affordable and had a cute store with food and sweatshirts and novelties. The last 2 times I was here the northernmost bathroom had been flooded out and s few months later was still unusable. I've dropped by s few times since, in the last 3 years only to find meager staff, the store Gone and higher prices. Doubt that I will return. read more

We haven't been here in a while but plan to come back soon. Love that the Catholic church is within walking distance...

Unfortunately I cannot give this place any higher than one star due to the fact that they (the managers) do not actively enforce quiet hours between 10 pm and 6 am. We were situated next to a large group (about 40 campers, including their kids) who was being very loud well past 10 pm, and the night patrol did nothing about it. We slept pretty terribly since this particular group actually stayed up until about 3 in the morning. It was pretty bad. I will never stay here again unless I hear that they've cleaned up they're act and are enforcing quiet hours. read more

Stayed August 18, 1 night. Made a reservation 2 days prior for tent camping. When I pulled in around 4:45, campers were just coming to the office to report smoke on the ridge. That turned out to be the Limantour fire, which is still burning as of today, at least 2,000 acres, but not immediately threatening the campground. There were other campers who came seeking refuge from the nevada city fires and other fires only to find more smoke here. However, the winds blew south so the campground was quiet and with clean air. The campground wasn't full either, people were driving in. It was ez to practice social distancing. The bathrooms were clean. I believe the campground is in an evacuation warning zone now and they are not encouraging road traffic bcz escape roads are limited read more

Wow. Impolite personel, super basic campground (dixie toilets, really? And barely any shadow and a waste water basin next to our tent) and way overpriced. Not really all that clean and a bunch of raccoons raided the camp site during the night, so put your food away at night!!! Did I mention overpriced? read more

Hmmmm this is a tough one. I camp A LOT. I give them 2.5 stars actually, but will have to settle for 2 (my experience just doesn't warrant a 3). Came here for group camping while we did bioluminescent kayaking on Tomales Bay. Wouldn't come back. Here are my thoughts: The Good: Located in a beautiful area, you have access to Tomales Bay, Point Reyes, cute little towns, beaches, hikes, etc. There is a playground that the children liked, and the bathroom was convenient to our spot. I also don't remember having any issues with cleanliness or any problems with the maintenance. The Bad: RACCOONS THE SIZE OF DOGS!! No joke! Each night these hostile little bastards made our site their home (that's probably what they said about us). They were very brazen, they would open coolers and eat meat, and once I swear I saw one pop a beer! No bear lockers (I get that there are no bears, so let's call them raccoon lockers) so I kept my cooler in my trunk (I knew from the year before!). Going to the bathroom at night was a challenge because we had to cross a bridge guarded by raccoons. And let me tell you, they are not afraid of you. They will move IF and WHEN they want. Not fun. Also, because of the little creek by our site, it was bug central. Ick. The site itself was bland and without personality- flat, grassy, no real trees to speak of. I guess it was fine but certainly didn't add to the experience. Also, it was amid the regular sites, so our large group had to be careful about noise. The Bathrooms: Awesome! Large bathrooms with running water, flush toilets, electricity, and free hot showers! The bathrooms were honestly my favorite part of the entire campsite. So that's not great, is it? Overall, Olema RV Resort is easy to find and it does have all the necessities, but it's just not pretty to look at and the raccoons might eat your small children. If you are staying in the area to experience all the amazing things to do, I would recommend Samuel P. Taylor Park (heaven on earth!!!) http://www.yelp.com/biz/samuel-p-taylor-state-park-lagunitas?osq=olema+rv+park. As far as Olema goes, I won't be back. :( read more

Very nice campground. Clean, well maintained. Lots of tall pine trees, grassy lawns, easy to park our trailer. Can walk to Olema, 2 miles to Point Reyes for shopping, restaurants and a Saturday farmers market. read more

We camped here 45 years ago on the last night of our honeymoon.....we were 19 years old. We just got home from a three day two night stay there with our travel trailer and our two dogs and had a fantastic time. The campground is so well maintained, the camp sites are spacious and the staff is wonderful. I can't wait to go back! read more

The only reason for two stars instead of one is because the owner refunded one of the days of our reservation with No problem. However, where do I begin ? First: horrible location. This campground has all the beautiful trees cut down. All you see are the stumps of where trees used to be. It's actually really sad to see because they were cut to make more camp sites. Second: upon arrival if you are put into the 300's for a campsite good luck. It's all sun! No trees anywhere. Third: there are raccoons and will get into your cooler! There are no wildlife boxes or any food storage besides your car. Also not really any signs that I saw that mention this either. Fourth: people are allowed to check in when ever. A couple arrived at 3 am when everyone is asleep and started pitching up there freaking camp right next to us. Slamming doors and everything. Like come on really ? Fifth: supposedly wifi prolly works if your closer, didn't work where we were. Bathrooms, ehhhh not so great been to better ones. Sixth: check your fire ring because there might be thing in there that are dangerous. Upon our arrival and first night apparently the people before us left a nice can of disguised beans in the ring under a bunch of ash that you don't even realize until the can of beans blows up all over you while trying to enjoy a nice camp fire. Seven: honestly try and avoid this place. I would never camp here again. It's not worth the money they are charging either for this campsite. Especially when your next to each other like a can of sardines just sitting right next to you. Also you can hear each other everywhere because there's no trees to block sound or give of any privacy so get close with your neighbors because most likely you will hate them in one way or another. Whether it's waking you up in the am or being loud at night it sucks. Wish this want the case but I hope this helps. read more

We stayed here Memorial Day weekend, so the campground was crowded as expected. What we did not expect was multiple sites nearby playing music until well past 11:00, and several loud conversations going past 1:00 AM despite repeated requests to quiet down. This is all despite being told over the phone that the campground has a quiet policy past 10:00. That would have been great if there was a single employee on-site to enforce it. (The local sheriff is listed as the first after hours contact, followed by the campground manager.) I'm just glad we only planned to stay for one night. It was already enough to ruin our plans for the next day, since everyone was completely tired (the crows started at 6:10 AM, which would have been perfectly fine if people actually quieted down around 10:00). There is absolutely no way we would have considered staying for a second night. read more

We booked our reservation online (a month or so ahead) after browsing their beautiful website (Camp Taylor was full, boo). My husband even called ahead to make sure all was in order (we have 3 kids and didnt want to be squished up in someone else's business). But, alas, when we arrived at our destination we were a bit disappointed by our findings. The big red barn they advertise is boarded up and closed. "newly paved roads" were not exactly newly paved. And the whole right half of the campground designated for tent camping was closed and under construction (and yes we could hear the saws). We proceeded to our assigned spot in a cul-de-sac shared with rv's and were disappointed to see that the campsite was **really** small and squished between two other campsites already full. Plus, it was right up against some ugly dead shrubbery. No at all picturesque as West Marin can be. So we drove around the (pretty empty, we booked a few weekdays) campground and ended up requesting a different spot (141). It was in an RV ring, but still better than what we had been assigned. The woman at the office was polite, and once we set up camp it didn't seem too too bad (until an RV pulled up *right next to us* the next day), but I think Olema RV Resort & Campground sort of misrepresents itself online. I think if I was driving an RV all day, it might feel more like a "resort." But for tent camping-- go somewhere else prettier with more privacy. Pros *bathrooms were moderately clean (including showers) and well stocked *each campsite has a water faucet, picnic table and fire ring *post office and laundry on site *playground (though it's an old school steep one (which I don't mind, but other kids kept getting hurt). Cons *Campsites are ridiculously small (try to get a corner or end spot) with lackluster landscaping. *Should have been up-front about the construction and assignment when we talked on phone. Though it wasn't a miserable trip, we won't be back. read more

This review reflects our tent camping experience...My partner and I are both avid outdoors folk and quite frankly this is the WORST campground for tents we've ever experienced. At 44 bucks a night peak season at a private campground, you'd think they'd try to make things a little better. The NEGATIVES: 1. the price...44 bucks is about 10 bucks more than nicer state parks...like samuel b. taylor which is really close to olema. 2. The tent camp sites are a joke! they're not even camp SITES...just a field with very few trees which leaves NO privacy or solitude of any kind. If you're there when every site is booked...the place will look like a refugee camp or one of those camp-music festivals. Our campsite was literally (NO EXAGERRATION) 10 feet away from neighbors on both sides with no shrubs, or trees, or vegetation to act as privacy. We heard a group of campers talking late into the evening...and get this they were TWO campsites away...and by any other campgrounds standards they weren't even speaking loudly....its just that we were so damn close! THE POSITIVES: Really...the only thing good about this place was its proximity to Pt. Reyes National Seashore...and the wine Olema...definitely needed to deal with random people walking through your campsite likes its some major thoroughfare! Parting words of wisdom... If you enjoy solitude...the feel of camping and being isolated in nature...where when you look around your nearest neighbor is 50-60 feet away...this is NOT for you. If you enjoy camping behind a catholic church's parking lot, people packed into a space which should realistically be holding half the amount of folks they say they accomodate...no trees or vegetation...then this place is for you. we're definitely staying at samuel b. taylor state park next visit to pt. reyes...the only reason why we even tried the olema rv resort and campground was because the state-park was fully booked. read more

Not recommended except as a one night stopover. The reservation website does not allow site selection so I messaged the camp that I wanted full rv hookups. When I arrived they had assigned a water and electric only site. Site 125 is a bit more out of the way and spacious under the trees but this no nature lovers camp. They spray water on the roads for the dust and trash pick up is good. The WiFi is a joke. Over a 3 night stay, we never got on line. The front desk says "we have 128 spaces and up to 6 guests per space. Keep trying". How about getting a fiber connection? The huge AT&T fiber hub is 1/2 mile away. Despite appearing to be near Point Reyes seashore, the closest beach is nearly an hours drive. The nearest little town is nothing to see or do. Not returning. read more

Noisy, chaotic, filled up porta potties, broken men's showers, too crowded, pee leaking from two of the men's toilets because of leaking seals, and no quiet rule enforcement. Also there are at least five dead trees waiting to fall on people's tents. A hot mess! read more

Just finished spending four nights at Olema campground. Our spots were 231 and 230. I think spot 230 is one of the best spots if you have an rv and kids. We were close to the bathrooms ( try each shower before you go in, some are better than others) and close to play ground. Our 2yr old loved the playground even though it was small. The dump station is easy to get to and use and fire pits were nice. If no one is near you check out the other pits if you're going to cook on them. Some fire pits have better grills. place emptied out after the weekend and the long term campers were pleasant. Spots are somewhat level gravel and picnic areas are un-mowed grass. Included picnic tables with each site. I would not recommend staying in the front circle unless you need sewer hookups. There is a lot of traffic around the front circle. read more

This campground is so beautiful! I think other reviews that gave this place a low rating must have been confused...it's very family friendly, has a kids play area, dog run, even a laundromat. We really enjoyed staying at this peaceful campground! Just a few things to know: Some rv sites do not have sewer hook up, but they do have a dump station. If you go to San Francisco for the day, it's a nightmare coming back over the Golden Gate Bridge! That has nothing to do with the campground but just a good thing to know! read more

It was gross, overcrowded, not at all like a resort (I really think they need to remove that word from their name), and I'm pretty sure the owners are making a killing. Not sure what the other reviewers are smoking, I could have just set up a tent in a strip mall parking lot and it would've been just about the same experience except that I wouldn't have been dying of smoke-inhalation. The only puny bathroom is a trek from the tent-campsite we were in, and was disgusting: muddy floors, toilets that won't flush, over-crowded, showers with push-buttons for the water and no hooks or shelves for towels or toiletries. The other bathroom options were abused porta-potties that were cleaned once a week even on the busiest time of year - they were already sprayed with pee, full to the brim and had no seat covers just a few hours after being cleaned. No wifi - at least in the campsite we were in. Teensy tiny campsites marked by white spray-painted lines, one on top of the other - each overcrowded with too many people and big-ass trucks. Right next to the highway so you get the car-noise and all day Saturday and Sunday a bulldozer drove around near us making us feel like we were still in the city. Not peaceful, tranquil, relaxing and not fun in any way. I could go on and on about the cons, it was the worst camping trip I've ever had. read more

We really enjoyed our time at the Olema Campground! It was like a Park, and didn't have crowded parking lot-type spaces, which was a great relief to where we stayed the night before (Marin RV). We had a few shade trees, a nice spot with great neighbors, and we gave a few tours to our neighbors that had to see inside our new T@DA camper. I also loved being so close to Point Reyes, Bodega Bay, and some great restaurants in the area. The bathrooms were good, could have been cleaner but that is hard during a busy season, so I give it 4 stars. read more

Had a great time camping with a few of our friends. We were in Fir Loop close to the bathrooms. Easy walk for the ladies and the bathrooms/showers were kept really clean. We did get raided by the raccoons the first night as they actually opened our coolers and went wild eating our food. I suggest putting all the food in your trucks at night. Had a great time playing horseshoes as well. We did have the manager come over and ask us to quite down the first night, but he was very friendly and nice about it. A couple miles from town if you need more food or other supplies. We plan to be back again soon. read more

We come over here every year in our 5th wheel. We usually have a group of 2 - 6 RV campers. Price is a little higher than we'd like but its got all the necessary amenities - and you can have a campfire. Sites are not too close together, there's lots of grass, water, power. Nice showers and bathrooms. Room to walk around. Birds & raccoon residents abound, the cows sing to you, and at nite you get serenaded by the coyotes. It's close enough to Point Reyes National Seashore, Point Reyes Station, Marchall, Occidental, Bodega Bay, Petaluma, Santa Cruz and the various beaches, markets, wineries and breweries around. read more

We stayed here in July, 2013. I would go back. We had an RV, three actually. We were able to get a nice site, with the RVs all opening into the common areas. I thought it was clean and straightforward. It's dog friendly, and has fire pits, which was cool. It is the spot to go to if you're going out to spend time either in Point Reyes Station, which is right up the road; for day trips out to the park areas or to go hunting for oysters...:). Criticisms: the store really isn't a store, no ice, but they do sell firewood-it closes at 5, so plan ahead. Locally stuff is very expensive, a dozen eggs were $9.00 in Pt. Reyes Station. Again plan ahead and bring in your supplies. Also, the wifi signal is very weak, so don't count on it at your site. We had a good time and will go back. read more

if you are looking for some down and dirty extreme camping, this is not your place. but if you want to sleep in the great outdoors and have the luxury of hot showers, bathrooms, and warm running water, then look no further... we picked this campground because they were dog friendly, and close to our weekend destination: point reyes. the attendants were very kind to inform us about what neighbors were in our camp area, and when i requested for privacy, they placed us in a spot all to our own. please do note that this location is right on highway 1, and you will frequently hear cars coming along. also beware of the large amount of raccoons on the premises. those pesky little rascals were all over the place creeping around in the evenings. this is a small facility, and it definitely lives up to the rv resort in it's title. the place even had a laundromat and game room! read more

Was here during the week one time. It was nice because no one was there. Just went last weekend and it was just awful. It's funny that a couple other reviews mention that it's like a refugee camp because that's exactly how it was. SUPER cramped, tons of people with a lot of people having multiple tents per spot. People were loud until really late in the night. It's not peaceful or a way to get away and camp. If you don't mind feeling like you are camping in downtown SF, go for it. If you like the peace that usually comes with camping don't come here, or book during the week when no one is there. read more

My family has been camping here for about 6 years. This was the first time we brought a RV (used to have a pop up trailer). My husband and I were excited to be able to utilize the hookups. I must say when we pulled up and realized that our campsite was one of the very frount ones when you first pull in, our smiles tured upside down. You cannot extend your awning because of the closeness. The sewer pipe is right outside your neighbors door, I think these sights were made before slideouts on RV's were invented. ANY HOW!! We still had a good time and I would stay here again in my RV, just not in the front of the park. read more

Just came back from a two day stay at Olema Campground. One word comes to mind, "average" after staying there. Nothing above average but definitely a few things below average at this RV park. We went as a group and had three RV spaces at the front of the campground right next to the entrance and the office. You would think that this area would be the most presentable considering its proximity to the entrance of the park. As soon as I pulled in to the park, I almost turned around and went somewhere else. Right directly in front of the office was a very old completely broken down RV that was obviously not towable and appeared to be lived in full time at the park. It was a complete eyesore. There was another campers real nice RV parked right next to the broken down one. On the other side of this unlucky person was another barely useable RV that someone appeared to be living in at the park full time. Well my space was next to this one. My RV door opened up next to this person's septic hookup. He had a small leak that was leaking urine into a small foot deep hole that was partially filled with a nasty looking liquid. Now I don't care what your RV looks like but come on that's disgusting. Obviously this person didn't care. The bathrooms were old but I have to admit they were clean and well stocked. The campground store was below average with just a few items on the bare shelves. Now the RV campsites were barely average. The fresh water at my site came out of a PVC pipe that did not stand up straight and was not very stable. Now the park is located in an area with some real nice trees. If you are going to this park in an RV, pick a space near the back of the park. The spaces there are much nicer. The spaces near the front of the park near the office are below average unless you don't mind camping next to serious eyesores. The RV park is in close proximity to hiking and other outdoor activities. We had a really nice hike in a nearby park that made the trip enjoyable but the RV park itself was average at best. read more

This is one of the better campgrounds in the bay area, albeit expensive, however unfortunately they removed several strategic trees in a certain area, which drastically changed the amount of sun. Bathrooms are well maintained but I would advise to bring your own wood as the their onsite wood bundles are outrageously expensive. Great location and lots to do in the area. read more

Best campground I have ever stayed at. Cleanest bathrooms. Hottest (sometimes too hot!) showers. Good flat surfaces for tents. Overall quiet at night. Saw a small fox! It's not camping unless there's raccoon footprints on your table cloth in the morning! read more

We randomly found this place after looking for available spots just North of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was almost dark, we had been driving all day and we were tired. The staff was gone for the day but they post a sheet with available spots and instructions on booking a spot and payment. It was all very straight forward and we were happy with the site we chose. Most of the sites we saw were pretty large and provide a decent amount of privacy. Our site backed up to the forest edge which was nice - sorry I cant remember the site # but I think maybe 24 or 26. I can see how this campground would work for single families and also larger groups with several (shared) sites nearby. The showers were clean and I took a nice hot shower. There's a big dog run and lots of area for kids to play. We'll definitely return! read more

SHOWERS and WARM WATER. There's even a playground for the kids. I wish we could of had a campfire but we got there to late and were exhausted. I hope to come back and do it again but with campfire and all. Camped here with several families for one night in August. This is definitely an RV park type of campground... Lots of crazy airstream/RV setups and pretty crowded. If you are looking to truly be in nature, this is not the place. However if you want to set up a campfire and hang out with friends/family, it's just the place. They sell bundles of wood at the front desk. The campground itself is big and basically a giant open field behind a church. The adjacent campsites are not very well demarcated. Bathroom and shower facilities were in theory good- at 4 pm, they were *pristine* and much better than any other campsite I had been to. By 9pm, they were filthy! Mud (I hope) everywhere on the floor, trash bin overflowing with waste. The next morning it looked like someone had at least sort of mopped the floor but I was happy to be leaving. Also, just FYI on Sunday morning a dude plays bagpipes outside the church. read more

Stayed in site 125 for 3 days. It was perfect. Lots of space between sites. It was level and we backed up to a small stream. Bathrooms were clean and lots of hot water for showers. Just got back from a night of camping at Olema Ranch. Here are the pros and cons for this campground: Pros: - Bathrooms were decent, and cleaned regularly so it wasn't super nasty - Water close by on all sites - sell firewood and other things, and even have a laundrymat - good for group barbeques Cons: - pricier than regular campgrounds, we paid $35 per night per site (for tent camping) and that only included 2 people and 1 car per site, $3 more per person over 2 and only up to 6 people per site - site is sparsely populated with trees, so you can see the WHOLE campground area from your site, no privacy or real feeling of being secluded in the outdoors here Overall, I probably wouldn't go back because of the non-secluded thing alone. read more

This campground was way better than I was expecting based on the reviews. It was calm, quiet, peaceful, clean, and just an overall comfortable place. The only downfalls were that there were not many fill hook up sites, with sewer. We got one, so that was nice, but the line to dump when we left was really long, also some of our neighbors had issues with full tanks. Also the sites were pretty small and right next to your neighbor. You could call it "cozy" but just hope you get cool neighbors, as we did The location of the campground was great. Very close to PT. Reyes Station, about a mile. Walking distance to a nice deli/store and a restaurant. The campground did not have a bunch of amenities like the resort style campgrounds, but it had clean bathrooms, free showers, a fire ring at the site, and a tiny playground for the kids. For us those amenities were not important. The scenery and the location of the campground really made the trip memorable. read more
