They have some different options compared to your typical breakfast joint, One being the Banana nut pancake with peanut butter syrup : Which is amazing, Why? Because I never had such thing, and love the unique taste. The pancakes are huge, The variety of options is pretty endless and they usually don't hesitate when you make certain requests to your orders. Our favorite option is : The Bronco - 2 Eggs - 2 Bacon or Sausage - Side and a Pancake for under $9.00! Another favorite is : Strawberry Banana French Toast dipped in Almond batter! Only downfall to this location is for sure the wait times. Try to get here before 8:30 am and avoid the 30-50 min wait time. There is still a wait even after 12:00pm !!! Stopped here to grab breakfast one morning when I was in town for work. It's a cowboy-western themed place with plenty of different choices for breakfast. The restaurant looked well kept - nice and clean. Service was pretty good - friendly and prompt. I did walk in just a little before a rush and was given a choice of a table or booth and decided to sit at a booth. The tables have pretty much all the condiments you would need which is nice so that you don't have to ask for them. I decided on the 6 shooter which was a whole lotta food with 6 biscuit halves and a chicken fried steak with gravy. I probably coulda went with something a little healthier but what the heck ! It came with a side and I settled on the hash browns. Food was good and was way more than I could eat. There are a few other more sweet/savory breakfast items like French toast that I might try the next time if I'm around this area again. Good selection of breakfast dishes. I've enjoyed their food a long time. Recently they have decided to charge extra if you pay with a credit or debit card. My parents and I just left Oldwest Cafe off of Hwy 121 where we were seated, at a table, and then rudely got told to move tables because they saved the "big tops" for parties bigger than 4. They sat us right next to the table which initially we did not mind until we saw another party of 4 got sat at the same table we were just told they saved for bigger parties. This was very rude. Very unprofessional. Very uncomfortable. I would not go back. Especially if the hostess we saw today is there. She really gave us such a negative perspective of this place. After coming here many times over several years, it seems each time it gets a little bit worse. They are no longer accommodating if you want something special. They flat out said NO to my granddaughter on her french toast request, one that they have done many times in the past, but today they no longer can do this. The food quality today was not good and now everything has an adder. My Pancake "looked" great until you cut into it and it falls apart. It was difficult to eat with a fork as it slipped right through the fork into small pieces. Gross! My over medium eggs were over hard. Now they have adders, and we aren't talking 50 cents or $1.00, but try $3.29 for a sliced banana for the baby and $2.00 adder for 2 teaspoons of strawberry syrup added to the kids meal. They never returned to offer a drink refill or see how things were. There was also a $1.39 adder to the ticket for "Non-cash" and I paid cash, but waitied at the table for a long time for the waitress to come get it because they want you to pay at the table now, but she didn't come back so I left cash and we left.. That was 1/2 her tip today. So sorry to post a bad review, but I didn't feel the warm fuzzies at Old West today and it just isn't very good any more. This place....WOW Mind Blown. Coming from California, I think I've never had the best experience ever in a breakfast place. They say breakfast is the most important part of the day and the Oldwest Cafe in Bedford literally makes it better by 1000 times more specially if you ha e a great server like Monica! Walking in from the outside it doesnt look much of a restaurant. But once you walk in its nicely decorated and people seem to be having a pleasent time eating thier food. I ordered the chicke fried stake with hashbrowns and a banana pancake. When i told her I dont like biscuits with my meal she offered the texas toast as a substitute. Geniuse! She even introduced medium well eggs! What, no nasty uncooked whites! Yess! The peanut butter syrup was mind blowing. Monica said, " I just wanna freeze it as a popsicle." Yes, totally agree! Monica our server was amazing. She helped with the menu and gave thr best customer service ever. She was funny and witty and it felt like I was having breakfast at a family friends house. The place is very inviting and nice. Everyone was super nice and polite. I've never been to Texas andbit was first restaurant experience and this place along with Monica has made it awesome! Down home country cooking! Something for everyone and then some. My husband and I frequent Oldwest Café for morning dates and us time. Amazing staff, always on the ball and friendly as can be. We feel at home and welcome each time. The menu is a little long and sometimes overwhelming but it does offer the opportunity to taste so many different things. Go once and it's hard to not go back. This is a food place, and the one thing you can't complain about is the food. It's Good!! Portion sizes are ample, the quality of the food is good, and I've never left here hungry. I mostly enjoy eating breakfast here. I really appreciate the fact that the bacon isn't thin, and the breakfast ham is as thick as the pancakes. I wanted something Southern-y for a breakfast get together and decided on this place with my friends. Got the Texas style down but not the Southeastern style that I was thinking of. Regardless, we were in for a surprise coming here. There was a waiting list for about 30 minutes so come prepared to wait, or pull sticks to figure out who should make a reservation to wait for the group. And then laugh at them while eating some really good food. Catching up with old friends, we talked a lot before the food arrived. Besides asking for ketchup, pepper, and a hashbrown reorder, our table was busy with the kinks of fork, knifes, and munching. This place was deadly delicious. The chefs of this place take what's familiar in the breakfast world and add their own sick twist to make you cipher though their unique labels for what you normally enjoy and make you love their version! The decor gives you a feeling of eating in an old west pub as a John Wayne model creepily stares as you munch on crispy hash browns. None for you cowboy!!!! Nothing the lovely, attentive waiters can do about it unfortunately, besides making sure your mouth is too busy doing the dos-si-dos with the food. Best breakfast I've had in a long time. Boyfriend got the six shooter- biscuits and gravy with a chicken fried steak and eggs your way- he likes them scrambled. It was delicious. The breading on the steak was perfect- crispy and not so much that it overpowered the actual meat. For myself, the mugwump- french toast with a crispy batter topped with strawberry puree, berries and whipped cream. Comes with eggs and bacon/ sausage. Loved it, the batter had a little crunch that was delightful. Had a parfait on the side, which was also delicious. The place was clean and the staff were all very friendly. This place has unfortunately gone downhill. I don't know if it's new management or new employees. We've been going here for 6 years but the service keeps dwindling. Today was the last straw. Our to-go order was missing French toast and gravy for the biscuits and gravy. When we called in to have the order corrected, we spoke with two different employees who said they would get the manager. However, before that could even happen, the gentleman on the phone hung up on us as we were letting them know what was wrong with our order, not to mention all of the other food would be cold by the time we went back there to pick up the missing elements. They are also making all guests wait outside until their table is ready. THERE IS NO LONGER INSIDE SEATING FOR WAITING GUESTS. So if you're someone who has elderly or differently abled family members, you may want to reconsider the long wait times. It now forces waiting guests to stand in the to-go parking spaces. read more

We eat breakfast at Oldwest in Grapevine or Bedford a couple times a month. The chicken fried steak is great. Pancakes are huge! The cinnamon rolls are fantastic. And the service is always great. The Bedford location can be a bit loud so we prefer Grapevine. read more

I wanted to like this place. Ordered Eggs, Hashbrown Casserole, Smoked Sausage and Biscuits with Gravy. Service out of the Kitchen was fast, then the Server, Faith forgot I existed. I had to go get my own Napkin and had to go looking for a Coffee refill while Faith chatted with her Co-Workers. The Eggs were overcooked and the Sausage Link as well as the B&G were barely room temp. Took Faith a long time to come over so I could send it back.
