It's a nice and heavy sort of bread, reminds me a bit of soda bread. They have other products as well delivered twice weekly to Santa Barbaras and other markets around Vancouver, spelt bread being my favorite. I special order 2-3 loaves at a time, as their inevitably sold out if I leave it to chance, and freeze some to save myself the trek as I live by Main St., which goes to how much I like this bread because it's worth the trek!

I wanted to go to Zilla's Donuts for a while to try some real pastries…read more When I got there, the establishment was pretty calm and quiet coming in. They have specialty coffees, such as lattes and caramel macchiatos. When I ordered their Drip Coffee, the staff member prepared it fresh and upon request with the option of cream and/or sugar. The coffee was near perfection in taste. I also ordered the following pastries: Red Velvet Cake, Nutella Doughnut, Sugar Stuffed Heart Cookie and the Chai Latte Doughnut. The red velvet cake is very delicious with fondant being incredibly flavorful. The cookie was okay if not a little hard with the cream filling being pretty good. The Nutella doughnut tasted great while the Chai Latte Doughnut had good subtle flavours and not being too overly sweet. I enjoyed their doughnuts so much that I bought some of the ones I have yet to try to go. The young woman working at Zilla's was very nice and professional with her work. I hope to come back to this place again soon and try more different Doughnut creations.

I was really looking forward to going to the Duft & Co for a while and saw all the delicious baked…read moregoods they made from their Google reviews. When I went there, however, I was a little disappointed that it was not as extravagant as I was hoping. Their choices in baked goods were very scarce. When I arrived there I found out that they do not serve their breakfast/lunch menu, but instead the daily special advertisement from their indoor sign. I ordered the Mozzarella & Caramelized Onions Focaccia bread and their cappuccino. The focaccia was great with the caramelized onions adding succulence and flavour that stood out. The cappuccino was good, nothing special though. I also had their Almond Butter cake, which was good as well if not a little solid to eat. There was not much to talk about the interior ambiance of the café and there was not much space inside, unless you go to the back of the café. The staff was very courteous in serving me and has a good deal of knowledge about their business. My experience at the Duft & Co Bakehouse was pretty good, and I would like to give them another try. However, it will be a while because of their obscured business hours would be hard for me to come around.

I've been dying to try this bakery for awhile and each time I have failed and it's no one's fault but mine since they were either sold out or I came on a day they were closed. So this day I planned ahead. I got there ten minutes before opening which always makes me feel awkward but a line was already formed outside. Once they opened you go in and are greeted with a wide array of pastries and baked goods. I picked quite a few but will say that I'm biased as I went to pastry school and well this was the best croissant I've ever had. It was flaky on the outside and nice and buttery on the inside. You can tell that they worked hard on these and laminated them perfectly. The coffee was good too but the pastries stole the show and I will be back.

It's great that this place is open til 10pm. We ended up getting a Vancouver no bake cheesecake…read morewith strawberry drizzle, a sausage roll, banana bread and tea. The Vancouver no bake cheesecake was delish. Light, airy, fluffy, not overly sweet. The strawberry drizzle tasted good and didn't taste bad or artificial. My husband enjoyed his banana bread. And we liked the sausage roll, their oven to heat it up unfortunately wasn't working so they microwaved it. It was good but of course would've been even better if toasted. I had an organic rooibos tea and enjoyed that they have a good selection of teas to choose from as well as caffeine free and an organic option. The girl serving us was super nice, friendly and helpful. A chill spot to hang out for a snack and a drink.

The establishment has a nice traditional aesthetic to it with mild lighting. Afterthoughts is a great place to have a caffeinated drink and snack. It would be great if this place had a menu for of full meals.

The cappuccino was strong yet very good. The establishment was pretty modern looking with mild lighting and had a very relaxing aura to it. Even on a Sunday, it was not too busy or crowded when I stayed there. When I came there a second time, I have ordered the Avocado Waffle from their breakfast menu that has recently introduced. I also ordered it with the Spanish Latte. The latte was fantastic and did not require sugar for flavouring. The waffle was soft and crunchy like good waffles should be while the avocado was surprisingly good on the waffle. The Hollandaise sauce that came with the entrée on the side was exuberant. The Polly Fox is an amazing café best enjoyed during breakfast or brunch, so you could try their breakfast menu. Even then, their coffee concoctions and unique baked goods are worth trying. Highly recommend this place.
