If you are a history buff and have a fascination as to how life was back over a hundred years ago, this place is not to be missed! This is more or less an interactive living museum, where the workers are dressed in period clothing and do not break character as they try and "sell" their wares. You will literally feel as though you have taken a step over a hundred years back in time. The store has the appearance of being back from that era and the products on the shelf are in packages dated to that time as well, some I believe being the actual packaging. You also get a chance to learn about the origins of some modern day inventions, such as the bicycle and how milkshakes as well as coffee were processed back then. Our host was very lively and enthusiastic as she discussed the products, and I felt really added to the overall experience.

If you are vacationing in St. Augustine and doing the trolley tour, take the time out of you schedule and do this site. We absolutely enjoyed the tour of this museum. The tour guides are excellent and able to connect with all ages. My grandson and parents enjoyed the tour. Both guides were excellent and helped us understand the importance of the general store circa 1908. They demonstrated some of the machinery of the time and the different products which were sold. Definitely a different era but one could see how the general store was where everything happened back then. The tour last about one hour or just a shade over but it is long enough for you to get a better appreciation for the time period. Lastly, if nothing else the tour will get you out of the sun and in some AC for a while. A must see while at St. Augustine. Two thumbs up!!

I could spend hours in this place! Then again, I'm a silly history buff who loves authentic artifacts and the awesome way they tour you through here. Our tour guide "Leo" (maybe because he was Leonardo DiCaprio's dopple-ganger?), did an amazing job convincing us he was a real store clerk in 1908! He took us through the whole "store" that consists of 4 or 5 rooms full of everything you could imagine; corn shuckers, shoes, appliances, bicycles, washing machines, a recreated butcher shop, a bread delivery wagon, I could go on forever. We learned so much about how people came up with all sorts of innovations in that era. Absolutely amazing! This is well worth the visit!

It's a nice place to visit if you are in St Augustine for more than one day. Our guide was very friendly. Totally worth the money.

What struck us the most was how Orville centered the tour around a young girl who had Downes Syndrome.

Scott, our tour guide was so fun and played the 90's music while we rode the fun golf cart ride! One of my favorite one was the wine and cheese spread at the top floor of cathedral with a beautiful view of the city. The eggplants spread, goat cheese with honey on a rustic bread was amazing and the wine was wonderful. What a fun way to explore the historic st. Augustine through food, amazing wine, view of downtown, and places to visit per our tour guide recommendations. I definitely recommend this tasting tour for a fun day in st. Augustine.

Getting this activity 'on the books' was more than aggravating, to say the least. The tasting tour…read moresays that to text them is a quicker option for response to inquiries (for them.) It most definitely didn't seem that way! They DID get back to me via text, but it wasn't in a quick fashion. I'd say an semi-acceptable fashion (within 8-12 hours.) Regardless, we DID get our event scheduled for a private tour with (15 people.) It was quite an expensive 'private tour' of the night of lights that was explained to me as tho the grinch (driving one trolly) and Santa (driving another trolly) would interact with one another (more than minimally) and make the tour exclusive to all 15 of us. They would hop off one trolly and interact with the passengers of the other trolly, etc. In reality, it was NOT a collective tour. The grinch separated from the other trolly and it was essentially two separate tours. Approximately 3-4 times they interacted with one another (acting as tho one would hit the other's trolly, yelling insults at Santa, responding to the grinch, and stopping at the 'duck bar' for the ambush together.) The address to initially meet at is kind of hard to find, even with GPS, as well! There is NO indication of 'the tasting tours' business name on the store front at the address. It is a Cuban bakery.' YES, we all had a good time.... But I don't want the rest of you that book a 'private' tour to be mislead or pay for something you won't receive. *** I also find it distasteful that the company charges an unprecedented amount of money for the trolly rides and then has the audacity to send an email asking for further tip for the trolly drivers.*** Whether a patron tips or not is up to them, not a business owner requesting it!

This review is for the Christmas Light Tour…read more I had a very disappointing experience with St. Augustine Land and Sea Tours due to poor communication and a lack of integrity. I received a text message at 3:00 PM (sent at 1:15 PM, but not seen until later) stating that they were having mechanical issues with one of their carts and wanted to move my reservation to 8:00 PM. This did not work for me, as I cannot drive at night and the person driving me was unable to change his plans. They then asked if 6:30 PM would work, which I agreed to, but this change meant I now had to take an Uber since my driver had already made other arrangements. I requested a refund for the one person who could no longer attend due to their schedule change and was told the cancellation policy is 24 hours. I explained that the 24-hour policy should apply both ways, especially when the company is the one changing the reservation the day of the tour. To add to the confusion, I was then told I had been put back on my "original" time of 6:30 PM--however, my original reservation time was actually 7:30 PM. I would have gladly paid my $40 ticket and the additional $25 each way for Uber transportation if they had refunded the second ticket. However, paying $130 total just to look at Christmas lights is excessive. The fact that the company changed the schedule and still refused to refund the one ticket speaks volumes about their integrity. I highly do not recommend using this company for any tours.

And I wasn't wrong! The tour lasted about 90 minutes (and it leaves promptly FYI) and takes you along the shoreline of Amelia Island - past the shrimping boats and past a Civil War era fort - before heading towards Cumberland Island National Seashore. This is where the true fun of the tour was for me. I had no idea really the history of the island and found it fascinating how the Carnegies and Rockefellers and more of the country's elite used this random Georgia seashore as their private escape. The history of both Cumberland and Amelia Islands is incredibly fascinating and the guides for both the Florida and Georgia sides respectively were well informed and personable. Plus - you'll very likely see a ton of great wildlife throughout including dolphins and wild horses and pigs. It's a great way to spend an afternoon in the area and a fabulous introduction to Cumberland Island National Seashore/Park.
