We recently had our quartzite countertops installed, most went well, but we were very disappointed with one of the joints. We didn't feel they matched up the two island pieces very well, it is very noticeable. We paid a ton of money for the natural stone and was so excited we found the perfect slabs only to have this very noticeable Joint. We understand you can't get it to perfectly line up, but the color or the pattern was very different. If it was on the back counters, it wouldn't have been very noticeable, but it was on the larger island. Vary sorry to have to write a bad review because most of the experience was good. This is our second home we have used Old World Stone in, and the second time we have had them install (in our opinion) the best of the best - Cambria quartz in our new kitchen. This time we spent the extra $$ and went for the full slab backsplash also. It is absolutely STUNNING, the counters are 100% the showstopper in our new kitchen (which was our intent). Working with OWS was pleasant and they were professional. From the initial consult to pick out the right counter top to the install. Their designer spent well over 2 hours with us in their showroom and gave us space and time to decide & were patient after answering our numerous questions and going back & fourth :). That was most appreciated. They worked within our work schedule for the measure/and 2 install dates - 1 for the countertops & 1 for the backsplash. There was even a slight mix-up on the island measurements, OWS took care of it and kept us within our budget and made it right. We could not be happier with how this project turned out. Everyone on their teams were helpful and knowledgeable. The install guys were great, they even helped us set the legs for our island. You can't even tell there are any seams anywhere! The backsplash matches up beautifully! Again we are SOOOO glad we spent the extra $$ and continued the quartz up as the backsplash, it 100% pushes the design to another level! From our first visit to install - what a great experience. This is our 3rd home to update and wish we had found this fabricator years ago!

Right when we walked in to Old World Stone we were greeted by Beth. She was super sweet and helpful. We had no idea what we were looking for and we weren't even sure we wanted to invest that kind of money on new counters before the holidays. Beth gave us as many samples as we wanted to bring home to see how they looked next to our cabinets. I'm sure she thought she was never going to see us again lol Well about a week later we came back with a decision. We went with Cambria Crowndale Quartz. We had someone come out to take measurements a few day's later. The actual removal of our own counters and installation of new ones took over the 4 hours quoted time. More like 5. Buy it was worth every minute! They installation was absolutely flawless. I would highly recommend using OWS for any of your granite/stone needs! read more

I have attached many pictures of the poor fabrication job of our Quartzite kitchen countertops so you can see how poor the job was and why I highly suggest avoiding OWS. I am sure they do quality work (sometimes) but our job with quartzite was absolutely terrible especially for the 15k+ price tag. They do not stand by their work, they stand by the money you "owe" them. We purchased Quartzite kitchen countertops, Quartzite Bathroom Vanity top and 2 shower niche cuts from OWS. Our trouble with Old World Stone started months before the install of our kitchen counters. OWS contacted myself and our designer and told us that our shower niches were ready for pickup and we the remnant was ready for viewing. The next day, I drove 90 minutes to their shop . Upon showing up, I was told that the shower niches were not ready and the remnant was not pulled out. I was obviously pissed and I wish I knew that this would be the least of our problems going forward with OWS. We decided that we wanted to miter the island edge, but we had many concerns about the stone chipping. We were told that the stone could chip but the fills would hardly be noticeable. We asked for a sample but could not get a firm date on when this would be delivered (they kept saying maybe today). Mary Beth, our sales person, told us not to worry and that OWS stands by their work. We decided to go ahead with the approval of the miter edge but said we would still like to see the sample before they cut. I even offered to drive there again. The sample never happened. We were contacted 2 days before the install date with a message "Please Approve" which had our countertop drawings and layout attached. This was very fishy. We had many questions regarding the seams, dimensions, etc but were rushed to approve the drawings. Very unprofessional. Our counters arrived and the corners of the island were obviously in bad shape with poor fills and unfilled chips. I could not believe the stone made it out of the shop like that. Our on-site tech filled one chip and then decided to stop because there was too much to repair. He suggested not glueing the island in in case they need to take it back to the shop. He agreed the fabrication was not good. Additionally, the tech chipped our stone drilling a hole for the faucet. Unfortunately our faucet will not cover the chip so they had to fill the chip. This will now be forever noticeable. A few days later, Mary Beth (sales rep) showed up. I assumed she would arrive, apologize for the incomplete install and fabrication and help us with next steps. Instead she arrived glowing about how beautiful the stone was, how great the fabrication was and went straight into a sales pitch about how amazing OWS state of the art machinery and water filtration is. She did this multiple times ignoring my unhappiness. Ultimately she was trying to convince me that I should just accept it and pay. Very unprofessional. It was until the very end when I demanded that she get someone out to fix and finish installing the stone that she agreed to send someone out. I was not contacted for almost a week. The head of the fabrication shop showed up and did some repairs and finished the install. Of course these "repairs" were repairs that were supposed to be done prior to delivering the stone but did not address the huge cracks at each corner, poor color match and the jagged cuts along the edges. OWS is okay with an unhappy customer who has a poorly fabricated island and a kitchen sink hole that was botched. I suggest that you not use OWS for anything other than a simple job but beware that their customer service is awful. read more

The entire team at Old World Stone made replacing our brown granite countertops to beautiful white quartz a breeze! The process was seamless and took about 2 weeks. We also ordered a Blanco sink through them and couldn't be happier with how everything came together beautifully. I priced out countertops for over a year and they definitely had all of the other companies, including Home Depot beat in price and in service. I especially love Mike the owner who came out and took a look at the job after it was complete and enjoyed chatting with him. Their entire team is down to earth and worthy of your business! They have a great reputation for quality work so I was more than willing to pay a little extra more. I'm glad I did! One of the best parts of the experience was their communication. If you are looking for quality product and quality customer service than look no further. Doing a kitchen remodel and got quotes for countertop from the big box stores. While some big biz had an okay but limited quality section it did not hold a candle to Old World Stone. I strongly encourage people to look here before elsewhere. This is an addendum to my review of 2/12/2022. Countertops were cut too wide and extended beyond cabinets, reducing the area available for appliances, poor workmanship. This is something I did not notice UNTIL measuring for and ordering new appliances. DO NOT HIRE Old World Stone. Refrigerator area is 36 inches precisely between cabinets. With countertops extended over the edges we were unable to order 21st century standard 36 inch refrigerator. Available space only accommodates a 33 inch refrigerator of which there are few choices. Stove area just barely accommodates a 29.5 inch stove. With countertops extended over the edges we are unable to order anything wider than that, not even by a quarter inch. Available space only accommodates a 29.5 inch stove. Their contract says any work done AFTER the install will be charged. They did not install properly and a fix would either require removal of countertops and shimmed slightly OR all new replacement tops. This could cost us thousands of dollars - more. I only needed a 2'x3' piece of stone for a cabinet top. Neither Lowes nor Home Depot would cut that small a piece. Someone recommended Old World Stone. I went there, told them what I needed and picked out a remnant and they cut it, delivered it and set it on top of the cabinet. Their customer service is outstanding and I highly recommend them. read more

Called to make an appointment to look at countertop material for a bathroom remodel. They will not let you come and look at material unless you give them dimensions, let them give you a quote. Fill out a request form, etc. That takes days, and how can they quote you when you cant even look at the granite or quartz styles they have available. The lady who answered the phone said, just look at the pictures of the stone on their website. Sure, you can get a really good idea from looking at a postage stamp size picture on your phone. They are obviously not in need of business and I would recommend you look elsewhere. I would give them a negative star if that was on option. read more

We had a very small job to make a granite topper for a vintage cabinet we were re-purposing into a liquor cabinet. They were willing to do the job from some remnant stone they had us pick. Not everyone we contacted was interested in a job so small. OWS treated us with the same attention and professionalism as on a big job. We were very pleased to work with them. Bought a Cambria quartz countertop from a local business that used these guys as the installer. Given that Cambria actually cuts the countertops in their own facility, the installers really have little more to do than measure correctly and set the countertops properly. Shouldn't be too hard right? Well, the measurements were not correct even though a modern laser device was used. The sink cutout did not conform to the template given, the overhangs on the counter were not uniform, and the required seam (run too long for one slab) was placed in a terrible location when it could have been stuck 3" from a wall in the back. The actual installers were nice enough ,but didn't do a great job. Instead of setting the top on dollups of silicone as is customary, they tried to tell me just shooting a bead on the FRONT of the cabinet up underneath the overhangs was okay. Baloney! They also did a lousy job of shimming what few spots needed to be shimmed flat. Thankfully the cabinets were pretty flat at the start. Even after a decent (not great) result was achieved with much supervision by me, I still had to get them back out to polish the major seam as they had left the finish dull with a spot of epoxy that easily chipped off. It's still not perfect, but enough already. I would not recommend this place. When you're spending around $100/sq.ft. on something, perfect is the only acceptable result. read more

I'm an architect - design/builder in business for over 30 years and I've seen my fair share of the "granite guys", usually a bunch of idiots running a business out of a very old, cold warehouse, using old rusting truck to deliver their product. I also pick out my own material and do the complete interior design and cabinet layouts, so this group fits in great w/ my "design team". They are very professional and did a spectacular job for my 2.6 million dollar renovation in the city. Yes, they came back for a couple of small punch list items, typical of ALL construction projects, and did it quickly and guaranteed to come back if there were any other concerns. This was our 3rd Granite Install from Old World Stone. Once again an adventure in timeliness and professionalism. From picking out our stone in the show room (WOW is an understatement on the selection in house!) to the accurate measurement with the latest laser measuring system to make perfect CAD designs producing a very high quality product! We moved from our 4 year old kitchen that OWS put in the Cambria counter tops that turned out beautiful. We have moved and had them put in new Cambria here. There is a large counter top and six smaller pieces, they are perfectly done. We also asked them to try to fit the old mystery stone on the old cabinets in the basement, perfect again. I received a quote for my kitchen counters which was about $1500. more than the other three fabricators. After I received the quote, after much chasing, I could not get a call returned. I made an appt. 4 weeks ago and Brian and I looked at remnants. There was a piece they would cut for a job 5 days later and he was to let me know if there was enough for my job. three weeks later I called again and he was going out to the shop to check the size and call me back. After having a bad experience with a recent fence installation, we were determined to do a better job finding a provider for our kitchen. From our first visit to their showroom/fabrication facility through the installation, they took the time to educate us and guided us through the process. What sold us was their high quality technical fabrication facility and they have their own installers (it's all about the installation). We had our granite installed over three years ago. Don't remember exactly when. We love it. I emailed them recently to ask their opinion about what to use for a sealer if we needed to-which we don't yet. I got a response back right away. Granite still looks great and can't see the seam. I got Cambria quartz countertops. Working with sales wasn't as "serviceable" as I'd expect. They left me hanging for weeks waiting for response for a quote after I sent rough measurements. They claimed "lost email". The woman who did the laser measurements was nice & she took the sink I bought myself for fabricators to "template" to the quartz top (note: you could buy sink/faucet from a supplier through Old World Stone, but I found my own much cheaper & better quality). I got a "final measurement plan" emailed back - where I had to review & approve. I would have no idea if they were "on the dime" but at least know if measurements were completely out of whack. So I ok'd them & shortly got a date for install. I paid Old World Stone to remove old sink/faucet/laminate countertops & back splashes along with install of the new quartz tops. I didn't want quartz back splash as they would be 3cm. thick so I'm doing tile instead. We had to unhook sink/faucet. 3 guys came & started demo'ing countertops & really left a mess. They made 3 holes into dry wall, trying to pry off back splashes. They broke top corner "inside support" pieces in cabinets, didn't bother to tell me let alone repair them. They draped the floor w/tarp but still didn't cover enough where debris was left on carpets & kitchen floor even though they vacuumed the area. They sloppily vaccumed inside cabinets where I found lots of debris & a long screw! I had a "seam cut" at a "turn corner" of the counter top & I'm not pleased with the adhesion of the seam. It looks like a long hair left on counter at the seam. A day after they left, we found a box cutter blade laying in the drive way & sink "clips" in the front lawn. My husband was pissed with the sloppiness, especially the sink clips in the grass- where if he mowed the grass, the clips could have damaged the mower & the box cutter blade cut someone or flattened a tire. I do LOVE cambria countertop but Old World Stone removal old tops & install new was sloppy & careless. I'd give 5 stars for the Cambria product & the laser measure lady, a 4 for the fabricators, otherwise "0" for the installers, & "1" for salesperson. Since I can't give category review, & Old World Stone didn't "make" the product, overall Old World gets 2 stars. Advice, don't have Old World Stone remove your old countertops, then you'll probably have a better experience than I did. read more
