Notified them of certain food allergies and they were very attentive and polite to accommodate. Service was fast and very friendly. This is my new favorite place…read more If my wife is to be believed, I'm a bit of a food snob. Incredibly good-looking and flawless otherwise (that's her talking, not me), but she thinks I can be a little judgmental when it comes to food. And I suppose she's right about that (and how I'm essentially perfect otherwise). Let me be clear though: I don't need fancy fare, although I've eaten a lot of it. We just all have to eat every day, and I'd rather have tasty things to eat than the alternative. And if I'm being honest, my expectations were not super high for Timeless Tavern, not because of anything they've done, but because in my experience, restaurants can be hit or miss in Hamilton County. Timeless Tavern is a hit. This joint is everything I wanted. We spent the day tearing up floors, and we were tired and hungry and just looking for a good, hearty meal. That's what you can get here. A really good portion of delicious food, at a good price, from good people. Our server Becky was outstanding. She was welcoming and warm, and she led us to the right things on the menu: steaks. It seems like what they do best here, and we went for the garlic sirloin, the Delmonico, and for me, the chocolate, balsamic, and bleu cheese covered NY strip. Yeah, it sounds a little weird, but I felt like you don't put something like that on the menu unless you know it's good, and it was. The steaks were cooked properly, seasoned properly, and honestly a pretty massive portion as well. The menu said 16 oz, I wouldn't be surprised if it was more. I can't remember the last time I didn't finish a meal, but I took a little bit of it home for a snack later on. That's probably because they also come with soup and salad, which leads me to another reason Timeless Tavern is my new favorite place: The Chicken Riggy. It's a tomato-based, creamy, hearty chicken soup with rigatoni in there, and I was legitimately blown away by how tasty it was. As soon as I had a bite, I knew we'd be coming back here whenever we're in town. It was rich, and flavorful, and unexpected. Also, I absolutely love that almost all the salad dressings are homemade. Parmesan peppercorn? I'll always get that. I've written a lot here, but the moral of the story is that I love this place. The food is great, the people are great, and it seems like a fun and lively spot to just come for a drink if you aren't hungry. Best of all, the prices are super reasonable. Looking forward to when we're back in town, and I'm bringing the whole family.

My wife gave me the thumbs up on her food also. So I guess I did good. I read the review about the cleanliness. Let me say this, this place is clean. I'm sure they have food inspectors that come in and if it was not able to pass, it would not be open. On the other review which they gave one star, I don't know when this individual called in an order but must understand that you only have a certain amount of people working, trying to please their customers so you have to give them a break. Obviously they don't want to lose customers. If it is a certain time when people are calling in phone orders and coming inside for take out, things happen. Nobody is perfect unless you walk on water. I have been telling a lot of people about this place. Thank God I'm retired and can go there anytime I want. Now I don't have to make seafood at home anymore. The only thing I'll continue making at home is the baked Salmon. Going two days in a row, I guess I'm trying to make up lost time since he has opened up. I'm good with that for sure!

No matter, as we were able to park nearby. Their brunch menu had plenty to choose from. You were given these small carrot cake muffins to start, then a choice of starter and main along with dessert, wow! You also had a few cocktails to choose from and you could also swap out for a mocktail too. It was extremely busy but the staff was attentive and handled our orders with ease. Their attention to detail was so nice. For starters we had a strawberry salad, French onion soup, tuna tartare, coconut shrimp. For mains, the burger, salmon Benedict, chicken and waffles and a Polynesian style breakfast bowl with coconut shrimp, sticky rice, pineapple and greens. Lastly on a full tummy we had coffee with chocolate mousse, strawberry shortcake and peanut butter cheesecake. Spending the morning here for brunch was the perfect way to kick off the day. A fairly short drive brought me to this little seafood shack; it is located in what seemed to be a kind of out of the way neighborhood. From the outside it looks charming, just a nice New England hang out; inside is even better with 2 compact dining rooms decorated with a nautical theme and a metal roof. When I arrived at about 6 on a Friday night the place was almost full with a couple of larger parties enjoying themselves. The menu is great for me since it is almost exclusively fish and seafood, with a good selection of preparations; even better there was another page of specials that are a bit more upscale. Since I was hungry and just wanted to keep it simple I choose the all you can eat fish fry off the menu. Considering how busy the restaurant was my meal came out in about 10 minutes. A nice basket with 4 fish fillets, fries and coleslaw. The highlight was clearly the fish with perfectly cooked moist white fish in a great batter with just enough spices to perk the fish up. The fish was so good that I actually finished the 4 fillets and then got 2 more. The fries were very thin cut and crispy. The coleslaw is what you would expect, good but nothing special. I was very impressed with Adirondack Seafood, the fish was excellent and the sides were good. The price was reasonable and the portions were generous. Service was good and the atmosphere is charming and fun. I would strongly recommend giving them a try. About the only downside is that outside of fish and seafood there are not a lot of choices; not an issue for a pescetarian like me but could be an issue for those who are serious carnivores.

I was going to book the Log Jam but they only had a reservation at 7:45 and we would be in the area at 6:30. Luckily I found Lizzie Keays in nearby Warrensburg. I picked this place because the reviews looked promising, the website said there's live music and the menu looked good. When I walked in though, I panicked for a sec because the vibe isn't what my family is accustomed to. It's more of an old, small sleepy country town type of vibe. When our poutine appetizer arrived, my kids oooh'd and aaah'd and devoured it. Having had a ton of poutine in Canada, this one was completely different. It bad baby potatoes instead of fries and short ribs with a tasty sauce. The bread with seasoned butter was good too. So far, the food was surprisingly good. I started to relax a bit. Then our mains arrived. We each loved our food. I ordered the short ribs with pasta. The pasta had the perfect amount of roasted cherry tomato and cream, making the pasta really delicious. The short rib was tender and tasty but I do wish it had a bit of sauce. A couple of us ordered the pork ribeye and they both loved the dish. The pork was perfectly moist and tender. We also ordered the chicken parm with regular tomato sauce instead of the walnut sauce- it was also a hit. We also ordered the Black Forest chicken - it was delicious. For dessert, we ordered the hazelnut torte. It was moist and had the right amount of sweetness. Many of the dishes had walnuts in the sauce but I was happy they were able to make the chicken parm with a regular sauce instead of a walnut based sauce to accommodate severe allergies at our table. The entree prices were on the higher end but reasonable. The sides, dessert and drinks however, seemed a bit pricey. Overall, a good meal and it will be on our list of restaurants for the area. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be to change the vibe of the restaurant to match the food. The vibe is more of an old grandma-y type of place and while the music was good, it was very country. The food and its beautiful presentation, on the other hand, is slick and modern.

This is a haute cuisine place that is masked by the casual dining atmosphere. Seriously: top notch chef, original recipes, a core dedication to quality seafood, paired with a fresh fish counter and some prepared food to go. We usually go for something special, but tonight I decided to get an old childhood standby, fried clams (the Boston Basket) and the fish burger sandwich. I did not expect either to be as transportive as they turned out to be. The fried clams were as delicately done as I've ever had: not crispy, but not too floppy, with excellent breading. And while I prefer my clams naked, we tried all three of the dipping sauces -- a remoulade, tartar sauce, and cocktail sauce. Now normally I loathe cocktail sauce and can take tartar sauce or leave it, so I figured we'd eat up the remoulade and ignore the other two. Still, I gave them little nibbles. Man! The cocktail sauce was like no other I've had, with a heavy hint of horseradish and a far fresher flavor than I've ever had. Then the tartar sauce -- genius! It had a delicate spicing, with capers providing a floral backdrop. That was only a preliminary, as the fish burger proved to be complex, with hints of multiple kinds of fish, and a fennel-based spicing. I ended up having that afterglow, as if I'd had a couple of cocktails and was sitting next to a fireplace, that is the hallmark of truly fine food at an advanced level. We also had the usual outstanding service, attentive without being pushy. I seriously think Hooked should consider splitting into two restaurants: one where the ambiance is upgraded to match the high caliber of the food, and another cheaper one that is strictly fast casual and takeout, and they'd more than double the business. There is a restaurant back where we come from in California, Turtle Bay, that did this with fine dining on one side and the quick, simple, and affordable food on the other side, with a big shared kitchen between them but with completely separate ambiances. That way I could come back more frequently, and still have the original Hooked for special occasions!

To explain, I ordered the cold lobster roll with fries and it was great. First off, the lobster was tender, incredibly fresh, and they loaded the roll with it. Likewise, the roll was perfect. To make plain, the fries were scorching hot and seasoned to perfection. Also, they had a crispy exterior with a fluffy interior. These were simply great fries. Essentially, Hooked offers great lobster rolls and fries.

We had 6pm reservations for a party of four, arrived about ten minutes early and were seated immediately. The other couple in our party had previously been here and were curious if what they ordered then would be on the menu again. Apparently, the menu is updated weekly. Starting out with cocktails, I know everyone was happy with what they were served. I certainly enjoyed my pint of Coffee Stout, and my wife was pleased with the lavender non-alcoholic cocktail they concocted for her. Because the servings being delivered to other tables appeared to be quite large, we decided to pass on appetizers, in spite of some of the apps sounding rather unique, e.g., Crispy Deviled Eggs, Open Faced Fried Pork Wantons, and Fried Carbonara. My wife was tossed between a Beet Salad with Scallops and the Pistachio Encrusted Chilean Sea Bass. At our server's recommendation she chose the Sea Bass. It was served with corn puree, confit potatoes (which my wife especially enjoyed), and roasted tomatoes. I'll get to enjoy the leftovers. I was trying to make up my mind between the Duck Pot Pie and the Chestnut Mushroom & Boursin Stuffed Tomahawk Pork Chop when our sever alerted us that there were only two servings left of the Pork Chop. I promptly claimed one of them! I am so glad I did. It was an amazingly delicious and well prepared dish. The pork had a slight pinkish color, just as I like it, the meat was so tender and flavorful, the stuffing had a crisped surface from the oven or salamander, everything was wrapped in tasty pancetta, the smashed potatoes were creamy and delicious, a white wine truffle sauce added another level of flavor, and even the carrot spears had the right level of firmness. I can affirm that my leftovers were equally enjoyable. We were not as lucky in having advance notice of the limited availability of a limoncello pie dessert, so my wife and I shared a slice of Banana Cookie Dough Pie. OMG! That was sooooo delicious. It was light, creamy, and not overly sweet. A real treat with the good coffee they serve. That pie along with something from their Lighter Menu, like a burger, would send you home in ecstasy without putting much of a dent in your wallet. Our bill for the party of four having one round of drinks, entrees, and desserts was about $250. Taking the whole dining experience into account, it was a very fair value. But wait! I have more to share with you. On Saturday nights live entertainment is provided by an excellent keyboard player adding to the inviting dinner experience and atmosphere. Great live, unobtrusive, background music is always a plus at dinner. Got a request? Art Mozeik will likely oblige. Even if you'd like to hear a song on an accordion instead of his keyboard.
