Hands down one of the best experiences I have ever had, with any business. Called and spoke with Mohammed and told him the issue with my TV, and asked if he could do a home visit (due to the size and mounting of the Tv). He came by that same day, diagnosed it on the spot, and gave me an estimate and eta. He took the part that needed repair, and said he would let me know when it's finished. I figured I would hear from him in a few days, or the following week, but he called me the next day telling me it was done and he could be to my house in 20 minutes. He did some repair work a while back in a professional, way. I paid him, though it was a bit pricey. I hired him again to fix two high end turntables. If I had only known. Now, Mohammad has had two of my turntables, for repair for over a Year now. He never calls or returns calls. He keeps promising them to be done, and drop them off, at my place. and it never happens. He made me wait all last weekend, said he had them ready and would drop them off Sunday....he did not, did not call, and did not answer my calls, or return them. He's doing the same to me this weekend for both Saturday and Sunday. I have better things to do than wait for him, day after day, and I cant go anywhere or do anything, while waiting for this man, who never shows up. I wonder if he sold my stuff. He does know people that he gave my number too, that want to buy my stuff for cheap. I will go there in person, and demand my stuff back, and I bet that I will have to get the police to get my stuff back. Because the store front, sidewalk is filled with homeless Junkies. This is my first yelp review. I give Old Towne Electronics 5 stars. My Samsung TV took forever to turn on and this past Saturday it kept trying to turn on and never went on but was still trying too. I found them on my yahoo search and called them today (10/20/15) around 5pm and Mohammad was here at 7pm and he fixed it in less than an hour, and he put it back on the stand and we tested it, and it worked I like that they warranty their labor and parts for 90 days. I bought a used car, the seller explained that the keyless entry fobs were no longer working, even though he had replaced the batteries in both. Turns out he broke both of them. I brought these in on a lark, not expecting them to work. The owner took them both and soldered them up. Still no joy, but he fixed the contacts on one that now works like a charm. That other fob, he just had to replace the bad battery. I've had my midi keyboard fixed here and it was solid. He was suppose to come to my house twice on scheduled days, but no time. He did not answer my phone calls nor did he ever call back. That was earlier this year, recently my mixer and keyboard stopped working so I took it here. At first he told me it was take 2 days, it turned into 2 weeks of me waiting on phone call responses and having to pull up to his shop and further delay the time. i have no problem with that my issue is you holding my stuff without letting me know what's going on. He told me that it would be done the day after Christmas finally, which was a Thursday. He did not answer my phone call all that day and I had called 4 times. Keep in my mind he told me my midi keyboard was done a week ago in one of our few conversations but I told him I wanted to pick both up together. Finally I go to pick it up today (Friday) and neither the keyboard or mixer has even been touched. Both still don't work and have had no work done on it at all. The only reason he got 2 stars is because he fixed my keyboard earlier this yr. he does good work but his customer service is terrible. He needs some type of assistance or atleast to be honest with people on the time of THEIR stuff that they intrust to him. read more

I already wrote my review yesterday in regards to Old Town electronics and would like to add the following. The reason I stayed with them for too long although being very frustrated many times is that I didn't know there was one place closed by with nothing but splendid reviews. Also sometimes Mohammed would fix something and not charge me which was never anything big. The good reviews he does have appears to come from TV customers who felt he went out of his way to help them and he loves make the xtra money on house calls. . However if you are in business and need your computer to make money DO NOT USE HIM because you never know how long you will have to wait. Mohammed will invariable tell you what you want to hear ever single time. The latest with my screen going bad I quite frankly would not have agreed to spend $150 for a laptop that is 7 years old which is why he kept telling me it was 2 or 3 years old. To be without a computer 5 days is costing money which he doesn't understand or even care about. He has no respect for other people's time ever. I would have paid for 2 day air but he said he USUALLY gets his products in 2-3 days free shipping.!!! He is a terrible business man. (I have not paid them since I insist on knowing where the screen it came from, is it used or new but they didn't want me to be there when FEDEX came. I don't know what else may brake on this old laptop). I sent them a long letter in regards to all I have mentioned in my reviews and don't know what his response would be lying about the age of the laptop. No answer I am sure. . . His wife Jasmine will start to argue with you about any problems which is needless to say very unprofessional. I don't think Mohammed understands he can't sell a customers property they forgot for one day. No, no, no, NO! I'd recommend staying away, but it seems a lot of people do get good service here. Bad luck on my part. My hard drive failed and a friend recommended I bring in here to Mohammed? He was out when I came in but his wife (I think) took my laptop and said to call back in a couple days. Okay, two days pass by, Mohammed picked up when I called and told me all he needed to do was wipe the and reinstall Windows and quoted me at 100 dollars. Said to call back in a couple days. Sure, two more days pass by, I call, no work has been done yet. Give him a couple more days he says. Three or four days later he calls and says that I now need a completely new hard drive and the price would be bumped up significantly. Wow, okay, do what you need to. I think I waited a week before calling again and he tells me he hasn't even started working on it yet. Give him a couple more days he says and he promises it will be done. Okay.. tick tock, tick tock. I call a couple days later and still no work is done. What is going on here? Am I being scammed? I finally threatened legal action against him because this is just ridiculous and guess what? My laptop is fixed that day. No new hard drive was needed, just Windows reinstalled at the original price. I am just astonished at how absurdly rude he treated me; trying to scam more money out of me and making me wait 2 weeks to get my laptop back. I also have to comment on how dirty and cluttered his store is. There is one little walk way in the store to the counter and the rest is FILLED with tv's, computers, radios, wires, papers, dust, dirt, whatever you can think of its probably in there. It was disgusting. I wasn't sure I had walked into the right store at first. If hes going to run a professional business he could probably do a bit more to at least act and look professional. read more

Took my Lg DVD/receiver to him to fix the laser over a yr and a half ago hot it back about a month later and it still had the same problem! Took it back to have it fixed again and after a yr of getting the run around and hounding him weekly and often daily I finally got it back all in working order only to find out that he lost my remote ! Tried to tell me I never have it to him and then gave me another remote that only worked the DVD function ! I ended up finding a remote on eBay and purchasing it for use of all recorder functions when I brought him the old remote and a receipt for the new 1 he would only reimburse me for partial cost saying he could have got it cheaper...than why didn't he ??? This was like a year ago...called because my 15 year old 100 inch mitsubishi rear projection tv stopped working. I couldn't let go of this puppy so i called old towne. He came in same day (maybe within 2 hours) fixed the tv in 30 to 45 minutes. He even showed me the warped part that was burnt to a crisp. I was in awe cause it's an old tv. Samsung wanted us to have someone come out for $100, so we called Old Towne instead based on their good Yelp reviews. They answered the phone right away and came out the same day. After I took it back the turn around time was two weeks because the part had to be ordered. So I have a Sony Sava 700 home theatre system I bought in 1998 that recently stopped working. I thought I'd have to buy a whole new system but after researching I realized NOTHING else out there sounded as good as my existing system. I decided to bring it in to Old Town Electronics to be fixed after checking out their website...and they fixed it like new! The cost was reasonable(much less than buying a whole new system) and the only drawback was the wait...took about 3 weeks but that's because they are SO busy right now...seems a lot of people are going this route. Don't let the business space fool you...it's a bit of a mess but that's only because so many people drop things off(lots of TV's) and then don't pick them up...you can actually buy many of these things at a discount after they fix them. Awesome! Ali at the front desk was very helpful as well even though it was obviious he was SUPER busy. Anyway, if you're looking for get something electronic fixed rather than buy something new I definitely recommend them. read more
