I received a lovely strawberry cake for my birthday from Old Towne Bakery @ Sept. 28th, 2025. The cake was visually appealing and inside, it had layers of cake with strawberry filling. My only complaint is that the strawberry frosting on top tasted like freezer or refrigerator taste. I'm not sure where these cakes are being stored at, but please check & correct.. I would have given the cake a ten out of a ten if it wasn't for that refrigerator taste or other that ruined it. I see that another customer had the same experience. I would like to say this first...the cake was AMAZING! To the colors, taste they did exactly what I wanted done for my little baby's reveal. Cake was very sugary, but is still definitely delicious. Below I added the reference photo then the final masterpiece. I did not want sprinkles on top either. As far as the service goes and why I set my rating to 4 stars is because they lady (older lady) who was taking our order was just very hasty towards me and I felt as if I was being a bother by coming in there and having them make me a cake. Really didn't make me feel excited or happy about placing my first baby's gender reveal cake here. Would I come back here? Yeah, I didn't seem to have any issue with other workers, but will I come back to place a gender reveal cake? Well I'm not too sure about that, please get back with me some other time. read more

So yummy. My husband loves their oatmeal raisin cookies. I ordered 3 dozen the day before as I had a hair appointment at Posh Salon with Lori and Samantha. I was concerned I didn't give them enough notice but they had them ready for me. All of their baked goods are delicious. I also ordered a turnover and it was of course delicious. read more

What a great little home town bakery! It's so nice to have a place like Olive Branch to reside. We have some amazing mom and pop places in and around town square. Map it and check it out! I love Memphis, don't get me wrong, but I can honestly say I have the best of both worlds going on here folks. You can't beat country goodness! This is what you will get here. Old recipes, family traditions, smiling faces, along with an extremely courteous staff. I love the rawness of the city but I'm always glad I have the OBMS to fall back to. I showed up 15 minutes before closing for some Valentines gifts on the 13th. All smiles and laughs the entire time. They were processing droves of people that were even more slacker than me as I was leaving. It was well after 5:00 before the last person made it in. Bravo!!! Nice to see that! Lastly... the chocolate covered strawberries are ridiculously good! Go get some today! The chocolate is almost fudge-like and isn't crunchy and falling off like most are. It's a bit of a drive for me but you can bet your ass I'll be back! I want to try the "Sock it to me bread"! read more

I've picked up two cakes from this amazing bakery and they're always available to instantly write on the cakes. Each cake looked amazing and taste even better. My guests have always wanted a second slice. Here's a pic of my most recent cake. I'm entrusting them for a specialty cake and can't wait to see the turn out. One of my besties is getting married so of course we had a bridal shower for her! The friend who hosted the party got a cake from here and it was GORGEOUS. Oh and it sparkled. Do you know how cool that is?! It freaking SPARKLED! And all the host did was show them the invite to the wedding and let them run with it. They made a beautiful cake that perfectly matched and complimented the invitation, which was also made up of the bride's colors for the wedding. It was honestly the coolest thing I've ever seen. Well, I'm addicted. My mom and I came here for the first time last week- we got a chocolate éclair, lemon cupcakes and peanut butter cookies. Everything was great. Chocolate on the eclair was a little sweet, but the custard was amazing. Hubby and I went today and got carrot cupcakes, snickerdoodle sandwich cookie, and bachelor cookies. It was ok. Definitely not what I was expecting. Went here randomly to buy a birthday cake. Whoever helped me seemed to just be ready to go home. Sold me a cake and told me it was a chocolate cake with chocolate fudge poured on top with nuts. I cut into the cake and there was some white icing in the layers. This icing was not good and the cake was dry. So dissapointed. I had high hopes for this place. Probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

Worst eclair I have ever had. I was really disapointed too, because there is no where else to go in Olive Branch to get baked goods. Notice I didn't say "fresh" baked goods, because they aren't fresh. I got an eclair(2.50) and my wife got a creamhorn(3.00). My eclair was so stale it was chewy. I'm pretty sure that eclair had been sitting there for a month. I took one bite and couldn't eat anymore. If we hadn't gotten it to go I would have asked for my money back. It was really that bad. The creamhorn wasn't stale, but it was just bland. I understand that they may not sell things everyday but just don't sell people old food or bake stuff that doesn't go bad so quickly. Expensive and not good. I wouldn't recomend. read more

I recently came in and bought a strawberry cake. I was planning on giving half of it to a friend and I asked the lady to slice the cake for me. She refused. She told me that she couldn't cut cakes there. I asked her if they couldn't or they wouldn't. She said they wouldn't cut the cake for me. Then she had the nerve to try to sell me a smaller cake in addition to the $28.00 cake that I was already buying! They say that people in the South are so friendly but that is not true all of the time. Most people in the South are friendly, but there are plenty that are fake friendly. I tell you this, I will never buy another thing from their store. They need to learn manners and they need to learn customer service. Pitiful. Oh, and they only accept cash, no credit cards. Avoid like the plague. read more

My wife purchased 2 medium-sized cakes on 8/1. Both had a freezer-burn taste to them. Caramel maybe a little fresher than strawberry. Strawberry not edible. Clerk stated both were freshly baked. Local shopper will not go back. read more

Horrible customer service. I've given this bakery multiple opportunities to redeem themselves,the baked goods I have tried several different things and they are just not good, cookies are hard and dry cakes are dry... I expect more from a bakery, I went in today and they girl acted as if it was a bother that I was there, she was not friendly and very unprofessional. I bought 2 petit fours I was so excited to eat them when I got home... once I arrived home me and my daughter both ate one they had a taste like they had been made from frozen cake they were not fresh and just had an after taste they weren't horrible but they weren't the best either probably wouldn't go there again sorry read more

I ordered a cake for my kid's birthday. I selected a cake from their picture gallery at the bakery. I ordered a big Memphis Grizzlies cake all piped so the fur looks standing up, 3D. I paid $80.00 for this cake. The day I picked it up, it was not what I ordered. The guy told me that the picture I saw, they don't do that cake any more and he chose tho make my cake differently, a different route. I expressed it was not what I ordered in not happy, but I need s cake. He offered me cookies, however I just bought cookies to match the cake from another baker. He asked if I could leave the cake and he could pipe it, I declined. I had too much to do to leave it and come back. I was not offered a discount of any kind on the wrong cake He purposely made incorrectly. I will NEVER buy from them again and I have bought cakes many times and they always were perfect. I don't know why he chose to do this to me today. read more
