I ordered a cake with a variety of flowers and colors all in buttercream. I asked them to add a few red roses. It turned out beautiful and it was fun to look at. Birthday girl couldn't have been happier. She said it was her favorite birthday cake and she is in her 80s! read more

Went to Cake Lake today to satisfy my sweet tooth. With the very friendly and helpful employee's recommendations, I selected some cupcakes. Unfortunately, they were all dry and crumbly. The flavors were ok but not as good as I've gotten (there) in the past. 2 stars for the employee; 1 star for the products. read more

I am extremely disappointed with both the cake and the professionalism of this business. I called the store multiple times throughout the day and no one answered. I also never received a call letting me know the cake was ready. I eventually had to send my sister to the store to check on it. When she saw the cake, even she immediately said it did not look like the reference photo provided. When this was brought up to the owner, her response was that they didn't have the specific colors and that using different colors "wouldn't have looked good." Unfortunately, the bright/lime green that was used looks much worse and is nothing like the original design. The owner was dismissive and unprofessional and refused to remake the cake, offer a partial refund, or even provide store credit. There was no attempt to make things right for a clear mistake on their end. If you can't match a requested design or colors, that should be communicated before making the cake -- not after. I would not recommend this bakery based on the lack of communication, poor customer service, and refusal to take accountability. Requested cake: muted, earthy tones (soft sage green, tan, cream, and brown). Delivered cake: bright neon/lime green, which completely changes the look and theme. Requested cake: natural, rustic, neutral, and cohesive. Delivered cake: harsh, high-contrast, cartoonish due to the bright green frosting. read more

I love this bakery. We pop in a few times a year for birthdays or other celebrations. We always get the cupcakes. They're always moist and delicious. Also, I love that they are not over-the-top ridiculous. Bakery cupcakes are often gigantic, extreme in their frosting and fillings and decorations plus add-ons like candy or candy bars...and usually dry and bland tasting. Not here! Cupcakes are reasonably sized, moist and flavorful, simple but with variety...and reasonably priced! We always get the cupcakes but this time I wanted to also try their cookies. Dang! Very good. Four cupcakes, four cookies, $20, everything was fantastic. read more

I was asked to send a picture of the cake I wanted. Today I came in two hours early and they stated I needed to come at 1230 which was no issue. When I arrived at 1225 she was still creating and decorating the cake. She was rushing to get the decorations on and was not paying attention to the details. This is what I asked for vs what I received. It looks like something for a baby vs a 16yr old. The small things make all the difference. Things I don't like: Pink around the mid section of the cake The black cursive writing vs the larger lettering on the pictured cake The bulky purse with the horrible frilly things Overall presentation isn't what I was looking for AT ALL. This cake looks like a bad knock off handbag! ‍‍‍‍‍‍ read more

My order was not ready! I ordered a king cake the week before Fat Tuesday. On their website when placing an order you can select the date and time you want to pick up your order. Times are in 15 minute increments starting at 7:30am which is when they open (see screenshot showing how it looks on their site). I selected 7:45am figuring I would actually pick it up 8ish but that would have it ready to go even if they were running a little behind and received an order confirmation stating this time. When I went to pick up my cake I was told they had just come out of the oven and would be ready at 845am. When I questioned why they specified pick up times if they aren't going to honor them I was told "that time is system generated and just means morning pickup". First off, that is a lie because I CHOSE that time. Second, they open at 7:30am so how is the customer supposed to know what mysterious time they are going to choose for their morning pickups to be ready. Apparently they don't have customers who want to pick up orders on their way to work. They way they run this business I am surprised they have any customers at all. Yes, I got my money back but this robbed another Desoto County bakery of my business. If they can't have orders ready in the early morning that's fine but don't have early morning times available on the site so people can order elsewhere. read more

Went in on 3/25/2021 ordered a cake for my fences birthday on 03/25/2021. Gave the girl at the register a photo on my phone of what I wanted. She should it to the lady decorating cakes who gave her a price. I emailed the photo to the requested address. Did not here back from anyone until today 03/24/2021. First call was they could not find the picture, resent the photo. Next call was them accusing me of sending the wrong pic because this cake was fondant not buttercream. And there was no way they could do that in a days time and for that price. the cake decorator that had given the original price had commented at the time it was a lot of fondant work. they did refund my money. But I'm still out of a cake for tomorrow. Highly would not recommend. read more

I hate leaving negative reviews. Having that said it broke me down to tears when I went to go pick up my cake. # 1, it wasn't ready on time. #2 the cake was ugly, as heck. Looked nothing like the picture. As a professional if you cannot accomplish something let your customer know and not half ass something that's rushed and sloppy. For 400 dollars I expected AT LEAST decency! #3 I broke down to tears and all she could say was "well you can either take it or leave it." Like gave no other solution to a problem she made. #4 She tried invalidate my feelings by saying "oh people are gunna love it." Girl no everyone said it looked like crap before my sister and I fixed it. Completely gaslighting me during the whole situation. I'm 8 months pregnant and my cake look like a 5 year old made it. #5 , I wasn't given any other options like I said before not even a partial discount nor credit nor "I apologize for messing up your cake because I couldn't do it." If YOU KNOW YOU MESSED UP DO SOMETHING! This wasn't the first time I bought a custom cake from her so I thought I was in good hands because hey you want clientele to come back right? WRONG! Lacks customer service skills, empathy and can't even admit when she messed up. Please don't order from her, doesn't care nor cared to fix the situation. If you want your desserts to NOT be one of your worries turn away now. The first three are what she gave me. Then the reference photo and the last one is how we manage to fix it before my baby shower. Also found some hairs and little fuzzy microfiber hairs. The last picture is how ME AND MY SISTER FIXED IT! read more

I am an extreme sweet lover and sometimes I'm just craving a cupcake for a snack. I passed this bakery a plethora of times and finally decided to stop in. & I'm so happy I did! They have cupcakes, pies, cookies, bars, and soooo many other things! They even sale the "day old" cupcakes for a discounted price. I decided to grab the cookies & cream, red velvet, and cherry limeade cupcakes and they were delicious! The cherry limeade gave me fruity pebbles over tones but nonetheless, it was very tasty. Their buttercream was so smooth and not too sweet, just how I like it! read more

I ordered a cream cheese king cake to be picked up Friday at 1:00 for my Mothers Mardi Gras themed birthday party the next day. I had a lot to do so I needed to get the cake at 1:00 (our agreed upon time). I got there at 1:05. The woman told me the cream cheese king cakes wouldn't be ready for another hour. She said I could come back, choose the other flavor they had ready, or get a refund. She never called or texted me stating my order, which I already paid for, would not be ready. I didn't have time to wait and I had to have it the next day. I had no other choice than to get the other flavor option that wasn't my Motber's favorite flavor. This was my first time ordering from them and I will not order from them again. They may not think my Mother's Birthday was important but I did, and there are several other fantastic bakeries to choose from. read more

The brownies/bars that were offered as samples were VERY dry. Not an influence to purchase them, ever. The cupcakes are not displayed well to see all the flavors. Unless you just "know" you will miss flavors on the bottom shelf (in the back). Maybe a board that displays/lists the flavors would be beneficial. Service was friendly. Nothing fancy about the taste, not sure if it warranted a return visit. read more

Bought 9 brownies, rang up at $33 and change! They were tied up in a black plastic bag and mashed flat. Never again.

Okay so I want to start off by saying I wouldn't not have left such a negative review unless there was multiple issues I had. 1) The biggest thing for me was that the cake looked nothing like what I asked for. I understand it was an unusual cake design but I showed her a photo and asked if she could duplicate it and she said yes but the cake was completely different. 2) The cake was not ready in time. She specifically asked me for a date and time to come pick it up and when I got there the caked was not ready. I asked how much longer it would be, she said 15-20 mins, I waited the 20 mins, and came back to I watch her scramble to put on the fondant haphazardly onto the cake. 3) She was rude. I would have understood if I came in early to pick up the cake and receive some attitude because of that, but No, I came in after the time we designated and still received attitude. read more

I sent an email as they requested- I specifically noted that I would need the cake on Friday. After emailing back and forth they said on Thursday that I need to confirm- I did and then she said the cake would not be ready until Saturday. Long story short, the owner or employee was very rude an unapologetic. She did not care that my husbands birthday was on Friday (we had been emailing back and forth for a couple of days). I would have made arrangements somewhere else if they didn't have time but they said they would and could. I do not recommend, they ruined my day and my husbands birthday. read more

Awful tasting cake. And the cake was really plain and pricey for it to turn out the way it did. The cake was hard and not sweet at all. The cake crumbled when you would put your fork into it. Awful! Very displeased. Instead of wanting my money back I'd just rather others not spend their money there at all. And there are more bad reviews on fb as well. I need suggestions on what to do. I ordered a cake from the Cake Lady for my Aunt and Uncles 60th Anniversary almond wedding cake with strawberry filling and they took my payment immediately. Picked it up Saturday, when we cut it, it was no strawberry filling ‍. So I call them today to tell them about it and they told me I got what I ordered. I said no it didn't have strawberry filling, she said that they didn't have strawberry filling written down, but I explained where I have a text from the day before from my cousin in Texas telling me what kind of cake to order. She said she couldn't do anything about my complaint because the employee didn't write down strawberry filling. She asked me if I would like to order another cake with strawberry filling . I asked for the owner's name but was told by Felicia they couldn't give out that information. I'm not used to paying 70 plus dollars for a cake that was made incorrectly. Help read more

stopped in to order a birthday cake for my grandsons party on 1/22/22. They greeted me right away, was smiling. asking and answering questions. Picked up a 6 pack of cupcakes that were amazing. Was disappointed there were no pictures of cakes and I had to go home and order the cake from there, so none of my cake questions were answered. There were two ladys in one section of the bakery and it sounded like they were taking either a cake or cupcake order. Just bummed I have to order on line and wait for them to contact me. We picked up some cupcakes Friday morning to have later that night. There wasn't a huge selection of flavored but what there was ran the gamut of traditional type flavors to citrus types. We got 1 each of Twix, lemon Crete, red velvet, double chocolate brownie. Dbl choc brownie was piled high with frosting that had brownie pieces in it, and the cake batter had brownie pieces in it too. Twix had pieces of the Twix "cookie" in the frosting that got soggy but in fairness I didn't eat the cupcake until much later in the day so that is to be expected. I'd rate this cupcake experience above L'Oven. Oh, I also picked up a piece of chocolate peanut butter pie but didn't eat it yet. Friendly service, will definitely return. read more

The ready to eat baked goods are cheap and yummy. Custom made things are very pricey but impressive.

I had never been to this bakery before and had never tasted anything from it. I took the words of some reviews I read and the fact that this bakery had a flavor cake that I couldn't find at other bakeries. The cake was just ok. It was just a basic 2 layer 8 inch cake with simple buttercream frosting. The taste was not what I expected. I bought additional items while in the shop and they were just ok as well. I have had better baked goods at non-bakery places (Broadway Pizza). It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I feel like I could do a better job. read more

The cupcakes are always fresh and the cookies are delicious! This is my new favorite place for sweets.

I am a picky "sweets" person. I won't waste the calories unless I REALLY like the sweet. My newest addition is their "Hope Royale" cookie! Soft and very flavorful! Haven't made it past that to their other soft, sugar or chocolate chip cookies, but those I have bought them for say they are very good. Their cupcakes are very good--the best thing is they will ice them for you without the sugar on top if that is what you like. The women that work there are VERY friendly and helpful. I can't speak for the cakes because I have not had any of them, but if you want a good sweet treat--go to Cake Lady! read more

I was not all impressed with our experience with them....the lady doing the cake tasting was 30 minutes late to the tasting. Another employee had to serve us our tasting and it seemed like we were an after thought for them. But that's not the worst part, my sister picked up our cakes from the the day before our wedding and not one but both of our cakes were wrong! The wedding cake did not have gold dripping on the side like was specified and our grooms cake looked like pancakes for the hose and had the wrong station number on the cake....when we called her she said she could come to the venue to fix the day of wedding, I was busy so I didn't get to approve but I was not happy with how it turned out, the good drippings were supposed to be a little less than half the cake on each cake and we got about 2 inches of it. Cake tasted good but not happy with the experience and the actual look of either of the cakes. Overall not very impressed... read more

Lauren was great with the consultation. The price and quality of what we received was above expectations. We will use this place everyone.

Unfortunately, I was not pleased with the experience. I have been a longtime patron of this place, and I supported it with purchasing birthday cakes when my children were younger and it is simply not the same. On this visit, I ordered a strawberry cupcake. I consider myself to be a self-proclaimed, "cupcake connoisseur." The icing tasted, and was comparable to that from Wal-Mart, Kroger or simply icing that you get from a jar. The cupcake was moist, but small in size, considering the price. The presentation of the cupcake was great, and I was given a neat singular cupcake holder for my purchased item. The bakery was clean and they had a variety of things to choose from. As for the customer service, it was not good at all. The lady who waited on me, asked me the same questions multiple times even after I would answer her in a clear audible tone, on each exchange she seemed as if she tried her very best to deliver poor customer service. The deal breakers for me are as follows; poor customer service, small cupcake size and the icing. read more

I recently picked up some cupcakes from this bakery. I got wedding cake flavored cupcakes. Every time I've ever gotten wedding cake flavored anything, it's always been white almond cake. When I got home and bit into one of them I quickly realized they were not in fact white almond (wedding cake), but plain white cake flavored. I was a little disappointed. Basically, it was like going to Walmart and buying plain vanilla cupcakes with buttercream icing. The tastes were identical. I felt a little cheated. read more
