Keith is honest, friendly, fair, and trustworthy. His staff follow his lead. Been coming here for the past 4 years and when I've been forced to use other mechanics because of location, I always am less satisfied than if I had used old town tire. These guys will tell you straight up what you need to have done, what you need to have done soon and what eventually will need service. The NEVER try and up sell or pressure you in to something you don't need. If you know cars, they respect that and don't make you feel like a shade tree mechanic. And if you don't know cars, you will not have to worry about being taken advantage of. If you have left a bad review for these guys, you were probably having a really bad day and needed to vent. Looking forward to being able to take my car to Old Town Tire again. (Currently have a car under a bumper-to-bumper warranty, expiring shortly) I took my vehicles to them from 1993-2002, when I moved out of the area until 2014. Every single experience was a good one. Let me give an example: Right after moving here in 1993, I took my kids camping in Yosemite. The day before we were to start out, I noticed my full size Dodge van's engine was running rough. WHY!?? lol I took it to a chain auto place, who gave me an estimate of $287 for a new distributor and plug wires. My budget for the trip was $300. I felt sick. Drove it down the street to Old Town Tire (my first visit) and told Karl about my van acting up. He told me to drive it around back. He opened it up and said, "Here's your problem..." It was a cracked plug wire if I recall. Anyway - he replaced one plug wire, charged me $15, and I was out the door and so happy to be able to take my kids to Yosemite. From then on, they did all the work on my van and my husband's truck. Fixed right the first time and for a reasonable price. And Karl is still there. I saw him sitting out front recently and it made my day. read more

Car came back with a few missing parts from the AC which was working fine before (did not take vehicle in for AC repair. Only engine repair). It was obvious they tampered with it. AC cap was missing and parts were loosen/ slightly broken to let AC leak out. I had a different shop check it out to confirm. So I guess it wasn't a coincident when they tried to pitch a very expensive AC repair. Also my engine is running fine, but I have an oil leak now and missing one of the sprayers to clean the windshield (which also does not work anymore now that I got my car back) the problem I took it in for was fixed (after almost two months) but my car came back with more problems. This is a great business. We had a very "wierd" problem on our Chevy Avalanche. I did some research online and found that others were having the same problem, but the repair was difficult (expensive). They took my research (other places looked down on me for doing research) and confirmed that the diagnosis was correct when I brought it in. They even found an easier way to fix the problem compared the the expensive way that the dealer suggested. My experience at Old Town Tire Service was easily one of the top experiences I have had in a mechanic shop. My car broke down unexpectedly and was towed here. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Within 30 minutes, I had a partial diagnosis and by the following morning received a follow up call with the full diagnosis. Keith was straightforward with me about the problem and the cost for repair and never once did I feel I was getting the run around or being taken advantage of as a woman. I trusted his input completely. When I decided the car was not worth the cost of the repairs, Keith allowed me to leave my car at the shop until I figured out what to do with it, even providing me with advice in this regard. By far the worst worst mechanics I have ever been to. Extremely rude and incompetent. The only reason there is multiple positive reviews is because they send you a big long email begging you to give them a good rating. In exchange for giving them a good rating, they give you a $10 oil change. Do not keep you up to date on what is happening with your vehicle, which is probably nothing because they don't meet deadlines. Don't be blinded by the good reviews, it is all a sham for a $10 oil change....why do you think there is so many reviews for their business as opposed to others? read more

They are federal mogul parts better than factory for longer life more like inferior techs. We took our taxi to you after those 'Inferior parts" #sarcasm were installed to align the steering... which has been done many times by Goodyear Express Tire with precision for the last few years. You see sir I know the difference of a maintained and well calibrated alignment machine that has been kept up and those that have not to avoid costs to shop machinery. You sir need to better maintain you shop equipment in order to better align vehicles. The fact is my cars alignment was dangerously misaligned after it left your shop that I paid you to align and your shop was unable to perform said duties and refused to make it right. But don't you worry sir I took it back to Goodyear and they were able to align it within minutes and stated this "it looked as if they intentionally misaligned this car". You said clamp marks on frame?! Wow you cease to amaze me.. Those are Jackstand marks, you make me giggle. I'm just wondering if you have any advice on raising kids you'd like to share. You said to my wife "you apparently don't know anything about cars" :( she asked you to refund the cost of repair if another shop was able to align the car, you declined. what you don't know is my dash cam is motion sensitive and showed your techs not using the $65,000 alignment machine to align my car, or test driving... Which manual alignments are fine as long you get it done right. but that wasn't the case. So no! I refuse to give you a second chance, the last thing I want is a disgruntled shop owner being given more time with my vehicle that is angry that my wife left him a negative review for being rude and condescending to women. read more

This place is legit. family business. my car was towed here in the summer after hours because my car broke down in temecula. It turns out a plastic piece of my car shifter broke, and if my car doesn't know it's in park it won't start. the owners son asked if he could build me a piece rather that buy a whole kit that could run $500 or more. i was hesitant at first but he said he enjoys building pieces and has done so with other parts, and i like the idea of being able to fix things in a non conforming way so i agreed. anyway, it was ready the next day and they taped the old piece to my receipt and it was $150 which for a 14 year old car with 245,000 miles was a great savings. it's honest family owned businesses that have kept my car going and going. read more

Shannon the receptionist looked weary because it was almost 5 and it was a hot day as well but she still had a great smile on her face as she rang me up. I plan on returning to this family owned businesses because of its proxiimity to my work but mostly because of how I feel about corporate America trying to edge out the small businesses owners. I had an Uber inspection done at a shop and they told me I needed to replace my rear brakes (shoes and drums), new shocks in the back and struts in the front, new serpentine/alternator belt and a few other things. I would never ever pay them to do any work just because of past experience with them. But they quoted me over $3000 for the work. After searching on TT for reviews, I found Old Town Tire and I'm so glad I did! Keith did an inspection completely free of charge and found that there was nothing wrong with my shocks/struts and my brakes still have a good 10,000 miles on them. The only thing needing to be replaced is the belt, which I can do myself. Keith also gave me a quote for the brakes which is still way lower than anywhere I've called. I will definitely be using this shop for any and all of my vehicle repairs in the future. I felt bad that I walked out of there without having to pay a single dollar so I wanted to at least give him and his shop recommendation. Thanks again Keith! read more

Worst service I have ever encountered. My son brought my pickup in to have the right rear tire repaired. Cost $15.00 to have repaired. My pickup sits in the driveway and is never used and the next day was flat again. I found a nail buried in the tread 2 inches from the original repair. My guess is they missed it and after repairing the first hole called it job done. My daughter in law brought it back and they refused to repair it without paying another $15.00. Very rude and matter of fact. There is no talking to them or reasoning. Take it or leave it. Family owned business reminds me of Paul and Paul Jr. I'm glad they are not my family. God forbid they ever rebuild an engine for me will probably get a box of extra parts to go with it. WILL NOT go back. There are too many other shops in Temecula that want your business and treat you like they appreciate you. read more
