Taking to him there is no BS sales talk- you don't feel like the bill is racking up as he discusses the issue with you. He is up front and honest and if he can't fix the issue he will let you know this as well. Which happened to be the case on my first visit. My service engine light was on so i called to get an appointment. Roy one of there service managers answered the phone. I specifically asked if they had a bmw scanner tool for diagnosis and he replied, "yes", so i can on in for an appointment. Upon arrival and checking in there was another man behind the counter yelling at the service managers that they were overbooking appointments for that day, turned out it was the owner. I was called later that afternoon and was told all or one of my catalyst convertors were clogged and needed replacement and that the car was unsafe to drive. I towed the car the next morning to a muffler establishment who sells catalyst convertors. This establishment had a bmw scanner and i was told no catalyst convertors were needed at all, turned out to be a totally different problem. I drove my car home, 30 miles no issues. I called old town tires to let them know there diagnosis was incorrect and spoke with the other service manager Jake, found out they have no bmw scanner tool at all. Roy, don't mislead potential customers by telling them false information. I would never have brought the car in if you didn't have the correct scanner tool for a correct diagnosis. I spent 159.00 dollars for absolutely nothing at old town tire and another 68.00 for towing. Such a horrible experience. Please go somewhere else, they don't know what there doing, all they want is your money. read more

They examined my brakes and were honest about not needing new pads and rotors. This car had some major work done (intake manifold & cylinder heads) by 'my other' mechanic in Escondido (Arturo's Car Repair) and Arturo did a fantastic job at an extremely fair price (I highly recommend Arturo as well). Customer for life now! I read good reviews about OTTS and brought my vehicle in for an inspection on some suspension issues. I got the inspection done in the time they specified (not a minute over) and they gave me the quote. I scheduled for the service. A day before I was scheduled for service, I had a personal emergency and couldn't be left without a vehicle (one car household) for the service. I called to cancel and spoke with the owner. I made it clear that the mechanic had done some quick fixes to my car while he was inspecting it and I wanted to pay for his labor during that time. The owner actually said that he would pay his labor without charging me right then "because that's what a good employer does" and told me we would settle up when I came in for my service. Somehow he even made me feel better about needing to cancel the service for my personal emergency! I am super impressed by far and can't wait to take my car back to get its service done there, for this service and for all others in the future. They really care! read more

I want to give a testimonial that not only praises this business, but speaks to their integrity: Approximately 3 years ago I took my 2009 Ford Flex to Rancho Ford in Temecula for work that appeared to be under warranty. After much haggling about the nature of the problem and whether or not it was covered under warranty, I ended up paying out of pocket and having to pay for a rental car. On top of that, they tried to upsell me on brakes, saying that my front brakes were "almost gone", and the back ones could use replacing as well, quoting me almost $800 for the entire job. I was shocked and in disbelief since I had only had the car for less than a year. I decided to wait and get a second opinion. This past July I took the car to Keith at Old Town to get front tires replaced and to have the brakes inspected, thinking surely that they must be "critical" at this point, since I waited so long. He replaced the tires and said that my back brakes were "fine" and the front had a little bit of time before needing to be replaced, perhaps by the time my next oil change was needed. I'm happy to report that just today, 3 years after being quoted an outrageous brake job by Rancho Ford Service Dept., I just now got the front brakes changed and an oil change. They even took me to work and picked me up. The price for parts and labor was fair. They are very deserving of all of the positive reviews and I appreciate that there are shops like this that aren't out to upsell and use scare tactics to make a buck. I had a great experience with old town tire. I brought in a 14 ft box truck I had bought that had been sitting around for 3 years. I asked if they could put new tires on it, change the oil and anti-freeze. When I picked up the truck they did all of the above and at no cost to me, checked the differential oil and serviced it and the battery light kept coming on so they metered it and told me what the problem might be. These guys went above and beyond what I asked them to do not for the money (b/c they didn't charge me any extra) but, in my opinion, they actually care for their customers well being. These guys are great! I will go out of my way to use their services if I need any repairs or service on any of my cars. Oh, and their price was better than the others I got quotes on. read more

Keith at Old Town Tire was perfect! We just purchased a truck over the weekend and while getting it weighed for DMV registration the car wouldn't start back up. We were told it's a tire place a few doors down and walked in and met Keith. He offered to assist and a jump start. Immediately after he heard the click he diagnosed that it was the starter. The staff at Old Tire was pleasant and knowledgeable. Keith towed the truck to his shop and had repairs completed the next day! I chose this place based on the reviews, and I wasn't disappointed. I brought one of my trucks here for a check engine light, and intermittent manual shifting problem. Despite telling them they could take their time, they called me the next day with updates. The check engine light was a dirty maf sensor, which they cleaned up rather than replace, saving me money. Two of the guys drove the truck and thoroughly checked out the shifting issue and concluded I should take it to a transmission shop. Overall, my experience here is that they are friendly, prompt, honest and affordable.
