I must say I am beyond disappointed in the customer service received from the manager. I did not get his name, but he was a taller gentleman with a beard and glasses. They had a suitcase that CLEARLY said three piece set with the price. I got the three matching pieces but Rachel (& I fully get why she called manager - the right thing to do when in question) called the manager. He proceeded to explain to me in an authoritative tone as if I was his child and said "it's not gonna happen" despite how the suitcase was CLEARLY marked. The sticker on it clearly said three piece suitcase set and it had the price. That was only misleading but It was bait and switch. His attitude is what set me off more than anything else. If you mark something as three-piece set and you have a sticker on it that should suffice for the price for the three-piece set. He even said "yes it comes as a set, but then we separate them" however, the sticker remained on the large suit case. This leads to a customer believing this is a deceitful bait & switch mentality which obviously this manager displayed not only in his actions, but both in his tone of voice and authoritative response. Old Time Pottery was my favorite store. I shop there almost on a weekly basis. However, I had the most unpleasant experience by someone whom I assume is the manager because she was not wearing a name tag or vest or anything. I arrived at the store at 8:47 to purchase an oversized basket that I had measured previously to make sure it fit. The doors were locked. The employees looked at me as they stood by the registers and then the presumed manager came over to the door and said that the store closed in 5 minutes, insinuating that I couldn't go in. I showed her my phone with the time on it and told her that the sign said they closed at 9pm. She shrugged and in a very nasty tone of voice said, "well, fine, 10 minutes." I thanked her and walked straight to the basket. I turned around and walked back to the front of the store without the basket I had come to get and proceeded to tell her that she had been very rude and that she should be kinder to people. I didn't buy that basket and I will not return for it. I will go someplace where my patronage is wanted. In this economy, my money is better spent at a business where I am welcome. The "at home" store is just as close to me and their staff is always nice. Being rude and unkind is unacceptable. And as a bonus, Google says they close at 10pm, which isn't correct either. read more

This store is huge! So many different things to look at and purchase. All of the employees were wearing masks. I wore one in and wore it most of the time while shopping. Then, all of a sudden-it started getting real hot in there and I had to pull my mask down a few times. I bought a chair memory foam pad. It was originally over $20.00 or more, but they had these marked down to $14.99. This was a good purchase and worth every penny. I should of bought one for home and one for work. I am helping my friend move to Oakleaf area. She bought several pillows for her back porch. I am glad she introduced me to this store. I look forward to my next return visit. read more

I spent more than I anticipated- but then again, I wasn't planning on shopping Old Time Pottery! I was on my way to another shop when I spotted the the sign! There is one of these stores where I used to live- real close to my mom's house. So I already knew I would like shopping here. What I wasn't prepared for was so much Christmas stuff!!! John and I lapped the store, grabbed some kitchen items and a bunch of holiday items! I grabbed several of the jumbo outdoor ornaments to hang from my crepe myrtle. I kept it under $100- thankfully! Been shopping here for years. Love the selection of any home goods I need especially the outdoor patio supplies. Anything that I'm in need of they have more choices to chose from of than any other stores. I've purchased at a affordable cost lots from indoor plant pots to outdoor patio umbrellas. The store has a lot of sales however they say they'll have half off on everything in one category and then they don't so you bring everything to the register and you try to check out and you cannot see the screen where the girl is checking things out so they wait until you have a printed receipt before you can even tell how much anything is. Then you have to wait in line again to return something when you figure out that everything that they said was on sale is really not on sale. They have a lot of stuff in here there's no doubt about it however I'm not sure that the aggravation is actually worth it. Plenty of parking and adjacent to a McDonald's. I would give this place 5 stars except for the fact they have no help on the floors and few registers open, other than that this place rocks. Stopped in to kill some time waiting for dinner to roll around and what I found was I could have stayed her thru dinner. This place is huge. Nothing but stuff for your home everywhere all at discounted prices. The day I visited there were tons of items at 75% off. I had things to buy in my basket but because check out was so long I had to leave them behind. You name it and they have it. All kinds of home interior design stuff imaginable. Wow! We came here because they were running 50% off on outdoor stuff. The discounts vary but that's not important to this review as the sale is more of a seasonal thing. The store is massive. Anything you need to decorate your home, they have it. The prices are also reasonable - A lot more reasonable if they are running a sale. I can see this being our to go place for holiday decorations and more importantly the place to go after the holiday for decorations. They are already starting to put out Christmas decorations even though it's 4 months away. So if you plan way ahead, this is your place! read more

I had to leave because the smell of something was so strong I couldn't breathe. By the time I choose to walk outside I was wheezing.

I stopped in here because I was in Orange Park and used to frequent the store and love it wish we had one at the beach many times over. I was impressed always with the amount of things in it and to choose from whether it's gardening kitchen houseware pretty much anything you can think of for the home is in this place in our very reasonable price. My reason for this critique is because of customer service and the lack of it at this particular location. I had my goods and was ready to check out and had noticed a couple actually three people that I had seen while I was shopping they were elderly and two of them were on walkers one gentleman was having issues with walking as it well but doing his best to just lean up on the grocery cart with his stuff and the two ladies stuff. They happen to be in front of me at the register and when they went to check out the young lady at the register could not have been more rude to these poor people. She did not want to move the shelving she asked the gentleman to move the shelving for her even though the wife lady said he could not lift and due to her physical restraints she couldn't help and asked the cashier to please assist them. I watched and discussed this young lady really having an issue with doing a friendly job of using her heart as well as just being a good customer service representative of your company. So I stepped up and helped there was long lines only one register Open at this time and at that moment I did not care I just wanted to help these poor people who were obviously very disabled in their own regard. Once I stepped up is when the cashier started making an effort and others in line we're trying to assist this tree trio of people. I think the cashier felt her walls closing in on her and she try to make it a little bit better. She never called for assistance although two gentlemen who had store tags on came up and not one of them asked if they could assist these people either they were too busy chitchatting amongst each other. I wound up following these people outside with their cart after I paid and helping these people load the materials they had bought in the store because they could not manage to do so themselves. It saddens me because unfortunately it's not just the store but customer service has really taken a hit and I can honestly say your store the people that work that register all looked like they were mad at the world no smiles no thank you snow sincerity at all and the customers while not many in your store or what keeps you afloat. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that these three very elderly people needed help. What a shame and no I will not be visiting your store again for the fact that it broke my heart. I got so many cute accessories for outside in my yard. This store is huge so make sure give yourself plenty of time to check it out. Old Time Pottery took over the Orange Park K-Mart recently and, in my opinion, is a huge improvement. They have everything home related (kitchen stuff, decor, furniture, etc) and even other stuff like purses. I'll be moving soon and can see this will be a great place to get lots of necessities but also fun stuff for my new place. They only opened a few weeks back so stopping in on a Saturday afternoon was like walking into a circus but, having never been to an Old time Pottery, I was really impressed. I have never been in the store before. I was pleasantly surprised. It has a number of interesting items for home decoration. The items are not high end but if you spend some time and are careful you can find items that you can mix and match in your home. The prices are very reasonable in comparison to home decor available in JC Penney's, Macy's, and Dillards. There is also more of a selection. this is a very cool store. Upon walking in it reminds me a lot of the old Garden Ridge that used to be near Regency that closed down. It has a lot of home decor that is very affordable as well as other household needs. It is a crafter's paradise! The name is a little deceiving as it would sound like a pottery story. They do have a section with clay pots and the like but only a small fraction. When I go I want to buy everything! This store is huge! I'm impressed by the large rug selection, and silk florals at this location. One thing they can improve on would be the quantity of employee's. I wasn't asked if I needed help once while I was in the store, however, I think it's largely due to the fact that they had EVERY register open and lines at each.
