We popped in for a quick bite on the way home early on a Saturday evening (6pm?) and the place was almost full. I think we might have snagged the last free table. Despite it being quite busy, the service was remarkably fast, efficient and friendly! The environment on a Saturday was definitely "pre-party" in that the music was loud (but just under being too loud), the crowd was happy and having fun. I saw at least one round of shooters going by to a table of older folks, lol! If you have an aversion to loud places, try the outdoor seats or maybe wear Loops or other such gear. It is a pub, but kids are allowed until 9pm. As for the food, we just ordered the calamari and the wings (salt & pepper as the hubby can't eat chilies). We were really surprised at how good they both were. The calamari had a thin, crispy coating that wasn't too greasy. The wings were properly and fully cooked without being overcooked. So many busy pubs serve half raw wings, so I was really pleased with the wings. Also, I thought the chicken was of good quality, not something I usually notice with this dish. read more

I ordered the pub club and a purple rain. I am very picky about my fries and they had my absolute favorite shoestring!! My husband orders the Long Island iced tea and baron of beef. He said both were delicious! Our waitress Sydney made it so much fun for us and our friends. And we found out she lives in Hope where we were all staying. I also ordered a tequila sunrise. My friends ordered margaritas and raspberry cosmos. They said both were excellent choices and very tasty. I loved we could sit outside with nobody else lose there will all out six dogs!! We had dinner with friends at Old Settler's pub in Harrison Hot Springs on Sunday. When we went to be seated our reservation had been lost. They never did find the reservation. There was a singer on the patio for the first part of the evening it was very loud. The singer was very good though and we thoroughly enjoyed his music. Our main server while very pleasant was not efficient. We ordered a bottle of white wine, 1 glass of white wine and 1 glass of red wine. She brought all white wine. My husband had a steak, I had chicken and penne pasta, Our friends had fish and chips and Caesar salad with prawns. The food was all very good and the servings were generous. After we finished eating we sat with dirty dishes in front of us for a long time and never saw our server in our area. ( who does this ) - it should have been taken back and made sure there is no Tomato trace Secondly the fat and grease that dripped from the burger soaked all into the fries yes it was that much . - Clearly pre Cooked sitting in some juice just to be thrown on the grill for heat Also doesn't mean its a burger and fries we don't require cutlery . We were given zero or offered any or extra napkins - even after he took tomato off and placed on napkins The service was below . The best burger and beer selections in Harrison Hot Springs! They have beers from all over the BC and Alberta breweries. We worked with Rhiana. She was very kind and helped us with menu and beer selections. The Burgers are definitely the best in town. It's fun to sit outside and watch the non-flowing Miami River. The prices have gone up here but the quality has gone down. Dinner for four with one drink each was $200. My girlfriend's taco salad was to put it mildly not great, it was like a chopped salad with a tiny bit of cheese jalapeños, olives and chicken on top, no seasoning. My blue cheese burger and fries were average especially for $25 or $30 and the gravy was burnt. The service was good and we tipped 15%. I've eaten here before and the food was better. read more

This is an edited version of a review I posted a year ago. They finally fired their horrible manager and hired a decent cook and the changes are dramatic for the better. The meal was fantastic. I had a chicken drawer and the minestrone soup. Both were wonderful and carefully prepared. The soup was a big surprise! It is packed with fresh vegetables that were prepared al-dente rather than being well cooked. I loved it. The chicken in the salad was definitely fresh and never frozen which made it tender and juicy. Finally, the service was fast and personal by our waiter, Jayden. Its hard to find good help in small towns but this kid is a winner. He is friendly, happy, knows the menu and actually likes his job. If I owned a restaurant I'd double his pay and steal him away. My wife thought the same. Great job all around. The only issue we had was the tourist town pricing. We live here and would come here more than once per week if they initiated discounts for locals. read more

I loved this place. Fresh into town from the U.S. east coast, I was really taken with the rustic, log cabin look of the place, the moose head over the door, the ornate wooden bar. It all said "Canada" to me. I sat at the bar and talked with the very nice bartender Jillian, enjoying a local Old Yale IPA. I asked if they had poutine (did I mention I'm a Yank and can't get it at home?) and though it's not on the menu, Jillian assured me they would make it. Melted Cheese instead of cheese curds, but still it was just the thing. There's a fireplace in the dining area and a picturesque covered porch with a nice view. Huuuge menu, something for everyone. Pleasant service - the server went out of her way to joke around with our ten year old. She even brought him extra fries at no cost! Food was pretty good. Our party of four adults and two kids ate here two nights in a row, with no complaints. Salmon sandwich was a little bread-heavy. Everyone enjoyed their various burgers. The Caesar salad with shrimp was fresh and reliable, with a hearty portion of shrimp. Cocktails were very sweet but not unpleasant. Drinks were refilled very quickly. We were in Harrison Hot Springs for 4 nights and we ate here for lunch one day and dinner twice. Its a cool rustic pub that is decorated with lots of wood carvings, to match the log cabin type feel. The service and food selection each time was great. We tried a variety of items. We had a chicken salad for lunch and the appy platter. Prime rib dinner on a Fri & a Monday night. The first night, it was perfect ! Large portion of beef, baked potato, Yorkshire pudding, veggies, & salad. OMG yum ! Plus the drink feature "Blue Hawaiian was excellent ! The Sunday prime rib encore was not as good, however the issue was solved immediately, leaving me extremely impressed at the customer service A++ I would highly recomend is place to anyone. Close to all the major hotels and a liquor store is attached which is a bonus. Average pub food with a little above average prices which is normal in a tourist community. Nice atmosphere and very clean. My husband and I both had burgers and they were quite good. read more

The food here is good, definitely recommend eating here. The portions are generous and the atmosphere is pretty nice as well. Fairly pricey so go in expecting a large bill. The tables can be a little small so there isn't a ton of eating space but it's not horrible. The main downside I had was that our waitress basically forgot we existed. Felt very neglected. read more

We had the Bruschetta, French Onion Soup, and Baron of Beef with fries! The bruschetta was so flavourful with the combination of pesto and balsamic vinegar and the french onion soup was pretty good, could've used some more cheese though. Pretty consistent place to go for a meal and/or drink. I tend to stick to burgers there and am satisfied. I have tried a few other things like the pizza, and it's ok, but not great. Love that they are open late and do takeout. Sometimes servers are friendly, sometimes not. Maybe it's confidence and training, but I suggest not starting with, "Oh, just for you?" I've been coming to harrison every summer for years now, (we have a trailer up there) and have been to the pub several times for eats and bevies... I was never overly impressed, no complaints but it was just fine UNTIL my last visit over Canada Day long weekend! Something is different and it's all in a good way! Service was great but the food was really really good! I had the power bowl which I will return for again and again! My daughter had the pulled pork with all the prefect flavours going on. My colleagues and I came here on a Friday night and sat on their lovely patio facing a creek. We ordered the $27 Prime Rib special and asked for a medium rare. The food took a while to come and the steak was overdone and the potatoes tasted like it was microwaved. I mentioned that the steak was overdone. 2.5 stars Kitschy pub with lots of funny ambiance, service was pretty good. Great BC craft beers available in draft and bottles. Plenty of seating. The food leaves a lot to be desired. Came out in a decent amount of time, but the fries were dead cold upon delivery, the pub wasn't busy at all when I was there, why cold fries? Too busy closing the kitchen down is my guess as it was near the kitchen close time, why not send out old fries instead of dropping a new basket. Unfortunate as every member of our party of 4 had an entree with fries. The guys I was with said the burgers were good though! Maybe just an off night... This place exceeded my expectations. As a Vancouver diner, used to high level service and food, I expected low casual pub fare and lack lustre service. However! Jayden made our experience better than MOST fine dining places in downtown Vancouver. There's something to be said about attentive but not overwhelming service, a good quip and a little sass. The food was also, fantastic. I had the quesadilla and loved that it wasn't doused in commercial seasonings. It really highlighted the beef and veggies. Options are limited in harrison hot springs village. After trying our hotel,and another place in town, all future meals were consumed at settler's. So, for that I give it a relative 5 stars. Decent IPA on tap and all the pub grub you can manage. We tried breakfast here on our last day and were not impressed. Hands down, worst bloody mary ever (I watched the bartender add ice, then vodka, then about 1/4 cup of worcestershire sauce, then a couple of shakes of tobasco, then a dash of tomato, then top the whole thing off with water...which was then served unmixed-- imagine a browny-red tequila sunrise, if you will). The coffee was also terrible. So, skip the breakfast. But, beer and pub fare? Yes! read more

My wife and I stopped in on a Tuesday night for a few drinks before dinner. The ambience was great and the drinks were measured pours similar to most places I've been to in Canada. The servers were great and even though I didn't eat here, I would give it a try. We had a total of four vodka sodas and it came out to $29.90 so it should get an extra star for that. read more
