Szechuan Noodles

Went for a little birthday dinner. The atmosphere was very nice, felt very warm and friendly. The service was good, did take a little while for the food to come out though but it was a busy time. The food itself wasn't super amazing, it lacked stronger flavours, considering one plate was supposed to be Szechuan.

Our wonderful server shares my name is excellent with kids. Ask for her section - her name is Christa.

Character's is a friendly, good sized pub in Chilliwack…read more They have an awesome cocktail selection, nightly drink specials and awesome service. Twice when we came here, it was getting late ( past 1130 but we still were able to order food! ) While visiting, this was our go to place ! We came here 3 times, and each visit was 5/5! The staff were always friendly and attentive, but never overbearing. They had a huge awesome cocktail selection(including blended frozen delights !) at really reasonable prices. They always had a food and drink special going on. The food was always so very good - we kept coming back ! The atmosphere was super fun and laid back. They played good music at a perfect volume. They also had TVs that showed sports and a smaller one for lotto like Keno. Drinks we enjoyed included - Blended Frozen Peach Belini Bartenders Root Beer Mudslide White Russian Blended Frozen Strawberry Peach Margarita Pint of Canadian with a side of Clamato (my husband said it was the best type of Clamato- he was really pleased) Food selection included Potato Skins ( OMG The BEST Ever !! ) Beef Dip w/ceaser salad Calamari Artichoke Dip Double Bacon Cheeseburger w/onion rings Can't say enough good things about this place. Will defiantly return next time we are in the area.

I knew we were meant to go inside. From the moment we stepped into this historical pub, we could feel the bustling energy and good vibes. The staff were quick to seat us in their back area (conveniently located by their well maintained bathroom) - and told us that they would re-seat us closer to the live music if the main area cleared out a little bit (it was packed and full of big smiles) My husband ordered the pot roast special, which came with fresh veggies and yorkshire pudding. He paired it with a freshly poured pint. His meal came quickly and he couldn't stop gushing about the quality of it. We both sat back and admired the charm of this famous local pub, talking to some of the regulars, as we basked in the the crooning of the talented live blues musicians that graced their stage. Dewdney pub has a rich history. It was originally an Anglican church in 1912 - and later became a pub in 1978. In addition to their charming interior - they also have an epic deck and patio area, which is pure bliss on a beautiful day - with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. And every Sunday - they host an epic blues jams that brings both locals and visiting folk from all over. If you're looking for some quality live music and solid Sunday food specials - don't miss out on this local jammin' gem. Trust.

We felt like we were really imposing on her. When we asked to see a menu. She brought menus over, slapped them on the table without any comment and left us sitting for a good 15 minutes before she came back to take our order. I didn't get her name but she had shoulder length black hair. I think she was nearing the end of her shift because service from another waitress improved when our food was brought out and we paid the bill. The food is considerably better than your standard pub food. I had the prime rib special with baked potato. I was pleasantly surprised that it was cooked exactly as I had requested - medium rare. It came with au jus and baked potato and was exceptional value for just under $12.00. My husband had a salad and chicken wings. The wings were very tasty, very moist and they were nice and plump, not the shrivelled up wings that many pubs seem to serve. However, when my husband asked if he could mix his wings and have 2 different kinds our initial waitress rudely told him this was not possible. Such an imposition! I don't know why this was such an impossible task as it has never been an issue before when we dine out. My husband decided not to make an issue out of it. It's a good thing the food was good. We would definitely return. I would just hope we could avoid our original rude waitress.

We tried the nachos and mushroom Swiss burger. Both were good! I'd go back and try the chicken…read morewings next time as when the. There were many tvs and a big screen projector showing the hockey game. Then I noticed Canucks jerseys hanging from the rafter and on the walls. Ok, so sports was big here. It was not rowdy though. We sat away from the main dining hall and got a corner table near the entrance. Service was ok, took a while for the requested extra napkins to come. Our server forgot about it. Guessed it was busier in the main hall which was on a spilt level up. Food wise, it was decent food in a neighborhood pub. Not a huge selection but it had the typical food here so everyone should be able to get something they like. The calamari was surprisingly good. Tender lightly battered squid, not rubbery at all. The whiskey bbq ribs with fries and slaw were good too. The wild BC salmon burger with clam chowder was so-so. I wished the salmon was a bit less over cooked. Salmon was lightly charred outside and unfortunately the inside was a bit hard. At least not too dry. I would prefer the salmon to just have a light crisp with the inside being 70-80% cooked. The miso glaze was nice though. The clam chowder as the side was bad as it did not taste like it at all. It was more of a cream of vegetables soup with some bits of clams in it. That was a disappointment. Fries or salad for the side in future. I also had the Moscow mule. It had real ginger bits in it. I didn't care for that as you kept getting them in every sip and they were real gingery spicy. Not a place I would make a special trip for, but a decent place for a meal when passing by. They open till 12 midnight or 1 am. Nice sized parking lot in front and back of the building.
