First, they rescheduled our estimate three times. Finally we got the estimate done and agreed on and a confirmation of us being on their schedule. On the day of moving and with no warning, they did not show up and did not answer our phone calls for three hours. After three hours, they finally returned our call. They then reported that they were unable to move us. They did not offer to reschedule. They stated all their staff called out for the day due to air quality. At this time, there were local wildfires, and the air quality had been poor for at least two months. The air on the day we moved, was actually the best it had been for the last few weeks. They left us scrambling last minute on a Tuesday night, trying to find the people and equipment to move. We had to be out of the house by Thursday per our selling contract. TERRIBLE customer service, and the whole scenario felt deceptive. I find it hard to believe that everyone called out when the smoke had been thick for months. Huge disappointment for a local company we were excited to work with. We had to leave stuff behind because of their error. read more

They damaged my refrigerator when they moved it and wouldn't fix it. Owner was rude and I finally told him to leave.

These guys moved a 900 pound safe from my basement to my friends garage. 5 guys, less than 2 hours, and they did an excellent job. No complaints and plenty of laughter. AND best of all the cost was 20% less than the estimate . I called multiple movers and Old School Movers were the only ones willing to help. Wow...when I saw the ONE review (negative) on Yelp for Old School Movers of WALLA WALLA, WA, I had to jump in. I've used/known these guys for over ten years now...I've moved three times with them and used their services to move stored items two times...lots of contact...and they have been stellar every time. I've never lost anything. Bids are always accurate--the only time it was different, I hadn't made clear everything I needed them to do. It was fair. I can't help but think the bad review is a mistake, as is suggested in Old School's/Yelp's review response (there are other Old Schools besides the Walla Walla one, but the WW co. stands alone, and is not associated with any other Old School Movers). The reviewer had moved to Olympia, and Old School doesn't even serve that area/go there. Anyway...I am always impressed by how they show up totally prepared, with pads, wraps, and the equipment needed to move everything, including my TWO pianos. The crews are always polite, and never slack. The only reason I didn't give them a "5" is because the last time there were some significant miscommunications with the office in terms of where to be to do what...but admittedly I'd made it a bit complicated. I can't recall anything ever being broken. I'd recommend them unconditionally. We moved to the area a couple months ago and booked movers on Uhaul that ended up not showing up and screwing us over last minute, on a weekend. We frantically called many places around town with no luck since it was the weekend. I called Old School movers and explained the situation and they said normally they would need to do an appraisal, but they sympathized with my situation and figured out a work around and suggested sending pictures. I did and they got an absolutely outstanding crew of movers out, a couple hours later, on a SUNDAY. Honestly amazing. I forget the woman I spoke to on the phone's name, but she was so kind and the movers were professional and got the job done in exactly the amount of time they predicted with no issues and no damage to our things. On the one hand, everyone was nice and helpful. On the other hand, the billed they gave us was way over the quote (well over the 25% allowed by law) and some of our (expensive) stuff went missing in the move. (The move was quite a long while ago, so there's pretty much zero chance it's in a box somewhere.) read more
