First, they rescheduled our estimate three times. Finally we got the estimate done and agreed on…read moreand a confirmation of us being on their schedule. On the day of moving and with no warning, they did not show up and did not answer our phone calls for three hours. After three hours, they finally returned our call. They then reported that they were unable to move us. They did not offer to reschedule. They stated all their staff called out for the day due to air quality. At this time, there were local wildfires, and the air quality had been poor for at least two months. The air on the day we moved, was actually the best it had been for the last few weeks. They left us scrambling last minute on a Tuesday night, trying to find the people and equipment to move. We had to be out of the house by Thursday per our selling contract. TERRIBLE customer service, and the whole scenario felt deceptive. I find it hard to believe that everyone called out when the smoke had been thick for months. Huge disappointment for a local company we were excited to work with. We had to leave stuff behind because of their error.

One guy was loading up all the smaller stuff like wood from bed frames and it just seemed like they could have both been doing it to get the job done faster. I asked for one hour and I was charged for 2 1/2 hours (30 min drive time) which was around $330 I believe.m which isn't bad. Overall, they were hard workers and moved the things I asked from my storage unit to my house. I would use them again in the future.

Then they didn't want to refund the $1800 I had given them which is my biggest heartburn. Ultimately, after a week they DID return my money so I have to give them credit for that (even tho it was MY money). In the end, they never did the move so it's hard to rate them. I would just say if you're moving, do your research, don't put ANY money down until you have a satisfactory contract in hand. Find a reputable Mover! It's a business with shark filled waters. CONSIDER DOING what I did in the end. Rent a large Uhaul, Hire local movers to load and unload, and YOU drive the truck. You CAN drive a truck right? You'll save substantially. I paid no more than $350 ish to have movers load my truck and $350 ish to unload. PLUS TIP THE WORKERS $25 to $30 each because THEY EARNED IT...and....YOU CAN AFFORD It. You're paying goodwill forward to the next people they move!

Chuy and his team were not only professional when handling our furniture and house hold items, they were also very personable and a fun bunch to be around. Just all around great people. The Moving Link service is worthless.  We were encouraged to engage them by a real estate agent who…read moresaid it was an added service of their firm.  The Moving Link representative came out, surveyed our home to estimate the number of goods to be moved, and said she would send us multiple recommendations of qualified moving companies.  We were sent two -- count 'em, two -- moving companies that we could have found using the phone book or Yelp.  The moving company came out and did their own estimate, so that was a waste of time.  The move was the most disastrous we have ever made (and we as seniors have moved many times in our lifetimes), costing us over $25,000 dollars in lost and damaged items.  When we asked Moving Link to intervene on our behalf with the company, their response was to call the company to tell them that we were not happy and to hope the company would do something about it. Don't waste your time with Moving Link.

They are a "free" service (paid by the moving company) and they come in and advise you on all aspects of your move, answer any questions, etc. I was pretty overwhelmed by the process before talking to them, and they calmed me down and took over. They saved me a lot of time interviewing moving companies myself, got me the best deals they could find among the companies that they have selected based on their exacting criteria, advised me on how large a storage unit I would need for the part that was going to be stored, and gave me other invaluable advice. I haven't actually made the move yet, but so far I am happy with the moving company they selected for me and feel ready for the jump ...
