The Moving Link service is worthless.  We were encouraged to engage them by a real estate agent who said it was an added service of their firm.  The Moving Link representative came out, surveyed our home to estimate the number of goods to be moved, and said she would send us multiple recommendations of qualified moving companies.  We were sent two -- count 'em, two -- moving companies that we could have found using the phone book or Yelp.  The moving company came out and did their own estimate, so that was a waste of time.  The move was the most disastrous we have ever made (and we as seniors have moved many times in our lifetimes), costing us over $25,000 dollars in lost and damaged items.  When we asked Moving Link to intervene on our behalf with the company, their response was to call the company to tell them that we were not happy and to hope the company would do something about it. Don't waste your time with Moving Link. read more

Moving Link was a godsend. I really don't know why anyone would move without them. My real estate agent gave me the contact and said "This is probably the most valuable information I am giving you right now." They are a "free" service (paid by the moving company) and they come in and advise you on all aspects of your move, answer any questions, etc. I was pretty overwhelmed by the process before talking to them, and they calmed me down and took over. They saved me a lot of time interviewing moving companies myself, got me the best deals they could find among the companies that they have selected based on their exacting criteria, advised me on how large a storage unit I would need for the part that was going to be stored, and gave me other invaluable advice. I was refered to Movinglink by my realtor. John came to my house to look around, then sent me five bids from moving company for my out of state move. He acted as middleman until I established an agreement with one of them. I was very happy with the services and felt my interests were protected as well as getting a good deal on my move. MovingLinks is the middle man with a business model of getting the client the best pricing for their move via multiple quotes. A MovingLink rep came to our home to assess the weight, time required and packing needs. We were told we would get at least 4 quotes from reliable moving/storeage firms. We received 2 quotes ranging from $9,300 to $10,500. Our home is 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and approximately 2,850 sq ft house. When talking to the representative at MovingLinks she had a hard time explaining the dramatically high cost for both bids. Our move is local in Seattle area and estimated to take 10 hours. We engaged two other moving/storeage companies through friends recommendations. Based on same needs presented to MovingLinks total pricing came in at $1,500 to $$2,000 maximum. I would like to believe that we were not profiled/targeted to be taken advantage of, but it sure feels like it. read more
