She gave the person before me an attitude then gave me an attitude, either suck it up or dont work there if you hate it plain and simple. I ordered 2 empanadas and a coffee and she told me there was no coffee ready so i ordered just the 2 empanadas, i was gona pay with card and she agresively told me it was a 10$ min. I told her to forget about it, as i was leaving she called me back to not worry aboug the 10$ minimum, kinda like begging. So i gave her another chance, the two half sized small ass empanadas took 20min. I should have just kept walking out the door when i got fed up with her the first time. They ask you to scan a QR code on the table but then have the "real" menu they use to charge you behind the counter and then say the prices changed "in house" or subject to change. It's one of the other! Also, make sure to read your receipt because a 20% tip is ALREADY included. I can't see why anyone would double tip this place when they're already gathering peoples money a couple dollars at a time for each meal or items on the menu. A total of $20 dollar difference is what we were charged and they said it as if we actually ate that much more. The only drawback was the meat - not as tender as I would like it to be- a little dry for my taste but edible. I wish we could give "half stars." Old San Juan was pretty good. We ordered take out and when we got back to the house to eat the food was still pretty fresh. We ordered empanadas and a cubano. Unfortunately, they didn't have any jalapenos to go on the cubano for that extra KICK, but it was still pretty damn good. Their biggest area of opportunity is their papas fritas. They lacked flavor and seemed like they were sitting for a while. The chicken empanadas were pretty good - a good amount of chicken and great flavor. The beef empanadas were lacking beef (where's the beef), but the beef that was in there was pretty tasty. Would I go back? Yes. Would I go out of my way to come back? Probably not. One of my favorite spots to get chicken with rice and beans! I can not get over that chicken. I always get a nice couple pieces and the meat is so marinated it falls off the bone! I got to my bf's house afterwards and mentioned it..."Did you notice that Puerto Rican place right around the corner from you?? We should go there!" I had to give a star in order to review. But if I had the choice they would've gotten 0 stars. Every-time my boyfriend and I call for delivery there's a issue. 1 time they said "the delivery woman didn't want to Come upstairs" we refused to go downstairs so she was forced to come upstairs and actually deliver the food and had a attitude about doing her job properly. Many situations have happened to turn me off about this place but the last straw was that I called for a delivery and a hour later the person called back to confirm what I ordered. Another 30 Mins I get a call saying there was a delay because the delivery person's car broke down and someone was fixing it. Mean while we live right on prospect so they are not far at all. I was a big fan of their route 46 west location in Saddle brook, so I was exited to see they had another location in Hackensack, NJ. After visiting the place I was extremely shocked at the environment being that it didn't look the same as the other location. Aside from that the food and service was great! Service was barely existent, over priced for what you actually get. They forgot to give us three things we ordered on top of everything else so that was an even bigger disappointment. The pork was beyond salty, so much so that we could not eat it. I'm on my third bottle of water as we speak and I ate an hour ago. My mother asked for a menu for catering and they gave her an old fax order that was placed to them from a school in Hackensack and on the back is where the "menu" was printed, quite professional.
