While we were checking out, Jonathan, the manager, began making homophobic comments about my husband and me, apparently not realizing that I understand Spanish. I may not look like I speak Spanish, but I understood what was being said. Hearing those comments from a manager was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. I have been a loyal customer at this HomeSense since this location opened over six years ago. My husband and I genuinely love the products and the store, which makes this experience even more disappointing. It's very difficult to feel comfortable returning to a store where a manager thinks it's acceptable to make comments about customers because they are a same-sex couple. This is exactly the kind of experience that pushes loyal customers away from physical stores and toward shopping online instead. HomeSense management should take this seriously.
