Haven't been inside here since maybe 2012 - after they gave the store a much needed face lift. I mention that for those who haven't been back, because before 2012 this store was a toilet. Previously, this place was decent if you wanted some cheap clothes (namely jeans) and a more affordable option to it's sister store The Gap, though unlike the prep & better than thou appearance of the Gap, this place inside was almost the polar opposite. Often messy, with long lines and rude employees, I would only come here if I REALLY had to but would try to avoid it mostly. The face-lift was a general improvement overall from what it used to look like in here. Apparently it was a company-wide overhaul, which was a good idea. I had initially thought it was purely due to Cross County itself renovating. I needed to get some jeans and I didn't want to spend a lot, so I came here for the first time in a few years. Again, with jeans overpriced mostly everywhere (including at most locations in this mall), this is a decent option for that alone and perhaps any other clothing you may find. I won't even consider venturing inside the Gap ever - not that I'm cheap, but I don't like overpaying either. As soon as you walk in, you see the back of the cashiers, which is a little strange. They're lucky I'm not a thief, since the format almost makes it easy for thieves to enter, grab a pile of clothes and run out without any resistance. There's a small wall behind the cashiers and some large picture advertisements, so they wouldn't even be able to get to the door in time and I didn't see a security guard at all. I guess the company is very trusting of people. The rest of the store is a huge improvement over the former mess this store and others were. It actually looks like a decent place to shop now. Old Navy in general had their gimmick and their stores looked alike, and while it wasn't bad, I didn't care personally for their decor - just their jeans and prices. THIS Old Navy though, always looked messier than the others I've been to - and pile that up with the rudeness of the employees here and the animalistic customers, it was undesirable to shop in. While I can't ever blame stores for how their customers behave, it comes down to employees maintaining the mess that customers leave behind - which rarely happened here. Now, the store looks much more presentable overall aside from a few select messes. It could also be the time of day I was here, since it wasn't overly crowded thankfully. And from the week of Thanksgiving until mid January, I wouldn't ever step foot in here unless you have a LOT of patience or you drink heavily beforehand. My main complaint this visit was the jeans display. Perhaps I'm used to the jeans on the shelf being in some sort of order with size - but that wasn't the case here and I had to look at them ALL to find my size. Warning - if you're looking for jeans and you want, say, straight legged - make sure that's what you pick up because often you'll find, say, a relaxed fit (which look similar) in its place and vice versa. I know customers are partly to blame for the impromptu mismatches, but it should also be maintained better. I eventually found what I was looking for and proceeded to try them on to make sure. The line this time wasn't long at all and the cashier was very friendly, which is always a plus. The jeans were priced decently as always. The one reliable thing about Old Navy is the prices. Overall a decent and affordable option in general and in Cross County (which is filled with pricier stores). read more

This store is the worst! The general manager should be embarrassed for the way this store is kept! I stopped coming here over a year ago because it was always messy & dirty. I went in today because I was in the mall & I'm so upset that I did. NOTHING has changed. Still messy & dirty. It was 5pm & there was only two people in the whole store & they were at the register. I waited on the line for over 30 min before three other workers came & helped the line move. If not, I would've been in line for another 45 min. This store needs a complete makeover! Corporate needs to step in & fix this ASAP! I had to try on a pair of pants & my socks were filthy from how dirty & dusty the flour was. I accidentally dropped the pants on the floor after & had to go change them because they were also filthy from the floor. THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING! I will never go back! EVER! read more

This Old Navy was so busy and bonkers with people. I am going to assume since it was Saturday night, everyone was trying to get their shop on and this is what caused it. But geesh lol sure had a lot of people in there. Well there was always a great sale on dresses going on so that I'm sure added to it. I went in just to return a dress that was too small. My fault for not trying it on in the store. Anyway I went straight to the line and didn't even browse. I felt overwhelmed by all of the people..plus we had a 30 minutes wait at Olive Garden. I stood on the just the line for about twenty minutes. It felt like an eternity. But I will say that the staff at the registers were really hustling to make their way through the line. The cashiers were prompt and there was not chit chatting behind the line. You can tell the staff was focused, which I was thankful for. I would go back because lets face it I'm at Cross County alot. But I may just try to go to this Old Navy on like a random Tuesday rather than a Saturday. read more

From my e-mail to Old Navy Corporate: Dear Customer Service: I unfortunately feel compelled to write concerning the disgusting state of your Old Navy store located at Cross County Shopping Center in Yonkers, NY. This is not the first time I have witnessed this store in such a deplorable condition, but it is the last. I simply refuse to subject my pre-teen daughter to the squalor, filth, unruly patronage and overwhelmed/incompetent staff. I sadly note reviewers on Yelp have had similar experiences at this location for more than five years! Ok, every time I come to this store it's in disarray. Clothes everywhere and very disorganized. Went today to pick up a few t shirts and wanted to be in and out. There were 18 people in line with three cashiers. I stood in line for over thirty minutes. The staff is nice but there is no operational efficiency here. The old navy in Cross County mall located in Yonkers, NY is a mess. The clothes are out of place, the place is a mess and the employees don't seem to mind. Don't get me started it is the worst, first it is tight, second of all it is dirty customers drink the small cans of soda without PAYING. This is the worst Old Navy ever! I barley go to this one. I really only go when I'm feeling too lazy to drive to ridge hill, but when I do go I instantly regret it. I won't go again. The store is usually a disgusting mess with clothes piled up and stuff just thrown randomly all over, although on this trip it wasn't too bad. I went in yesterday and I noticed customers AND employees were not wearing masks appropriately. I saw some with their mask only covering their mouth. Wtf kind of shit is that? Nobody was monitoring the line ( there is ALWAYS a long line there for some reason), people in line were literally on top of each other not standing 6 feet apart. I went here to buy socks. They were good socks. The service and appearance for just walking in here to buy socks ... Weren't in accordance with the mundane awesomeness of my purchased socks. Now that irked me a bit - why couldn't this department store that services average Americans rack it's socks in size, pick up it's clothes from the floor, and keep children from running amok like savage ewoks on cocaine? Mediocre customer service and employees, that's why. I mean, even the cashier didn't give a smirk when I was buying my sublime socks - rather disappointing in my mind for customer service. So as I was typing ... the socks we're good, but my dissatisfaction by the lack of love by the staff seeped into my cotton foot covers. If there was a better amount of care from the workers, in which there could be by hiring new folks, there is a possibility that the store could improve. That also means my socks would rock and not be just good, but exceptional. The clothes do their job to clothe. Not to shine, though =) There are fitting rooms. The lines there and on the checkout front are quite speedy, but with apathy from those behind the counter. read more

I like old navy for their basic T-Shirts, hoodies, just the little stuff. I was here Christmas week at about 6:30 pm and my mistake. That store was tore up from the floor up! I mean dag, I know their sales are crazy good but my goodness, you'd think they were giving stuff out for free... lol... It's all good though... I couldn't find anything!!! Lines are ridiculously long and the store is in disarray. There are piles of clothes all over. We asked where the hats, gloves and scarfs were and were directed all over the front of the store. Avoid this place unless you like long lines and a search and rescue mission for clothes. read more

SHOP AND RISK DEATH. I saw that they were limiting the number of people in the store at a time, and requiring the masks required by Cuomo's Executive Order, so it seemed like it would be okay. But, when I got in, after waiting on line, I discovered that you only had to possess a mask, not wear it. About a third of the people in there had their masks in the range of partially covering their face, because, obviously, their nostrils must have been certified coronavirus free (?), to no mask at all (including when snorting snot). Then ,when waiting on the long, long, long, line for quite a while (at least a half hour, probably longer), they claim people must stand six feet apart, per government guidelines, so you don't get the virus and maybe die. How am I supposed to do that? No one mentioned that I had to bring something with me to keep the maskless person behind me practically out of my ass, so I don't have to keep moving up to get away, until my nose is practically in the hair of the person in front of me, which gave me a good view of her companion's nostrils. at the cross county shopping mall in yonkers near zara and olive garden is old navy which i enjoy visiting cause seeing clothing , footware and accessories all over the floor and misplaced is always a sure thing . it's tuesday night and i have a few hours to waste while waiting for my buddy to meet up so a little browsing and maybe some money spending is in the cards . it's spacious inside and the wide open layout makes it easy to find what you need and it's not that crowded which makes for a better browsing experience .i picked up a few tee shirts that were on sale and i just recalled that i purchased the same design about a month ago so it's duplication wearing again . the socks are really priced cheap so a few 6 packs in my cart also. stuff is always on sale at old navy so i really can't see anyone saying that it's expensive cause it's not . glad that i came on a weekday evening instead of a weekend day cause as the staff member who was doing her best to fix up the mess by the fitting rooms , it's a zoo on saturday and sunday she stated as i engaged in conversation with her lovely self. got my goods and headed to the no wait line and was on my way back to empire city . 4 stars on my yelp meter , liked what i purchased . read more

It's been a year since I've been to this store! I absolutely will never be back due to poor customer service poor satisfaction and the inconvenience of being treated poorly and unfair. After being told I would be taken care of and never hearing back from anyone! I still have a 40 dollar shirt I can't wear they refused to take off a shirt I purchased for my nephew last years school year! I absolutely have nothing good to say about old navy on 185 Tanasbourne mall.. There gum chewing rude cashiers are not gonna get me again!! It's a dumpster of bad employees who don't give a care for the business so neither do I.
