A beautiful store! I don't know how I found out about this one--it didn't come up when I did a…read moresearch for children's stores in Portland (maybe because it is in Tualatin) but I'm glad it somehow showed up on my socials (stop listening to me, Meta). This shop is located in Bridgeport Village Shopping Center, an open air mall in Tualatin, and though there's not parking right in front of it there's plenty of parking kind of around the corner. They have some truly lovely stuff here. There was one brand called Viverano that caught my eye almost as soon as we walked in and I'm not sure if I should be glad or not that my daughter has gotten close enough to aging out of their size range (their biggest size is 18-24) because their cardigans on display here were gorgeous. And adorable!! They carry children's clothes in a higher range of sizes than some kid's stores, I think. In addition to clothes there are some toys and kid-related things like plates, books, and so on. I found a great dress for my kiddo and I can't wait to see her in it; although it says it's a 2T, and she's in the 95th percentile or higher for height and weight, this is super big on her so I'll try it again when she's closer to two. They had some really cute spring dresses when we were here but I restrained myself. The staff here was really welcoming and friendly, and sweet with their little clients. I was really pleased with my experience here. In checking out their website, I see that they specifically mention that if you purchase online they are happy to run your purchases out to your car so that you don't have to find a spot and lug in your littles. That is so helpful and if I was living in Oregon right now that would be a big attraction to me. As it is, I will be following them on social media and keeping an eye on their sales.

We have been going to Bridgeport Santa for the past 4 years and have enjoyed visiting Santa there…read more You need to make a reservation in advance and they are 10 minute time slots. Parking this time of year is always tricky, but expected. This year they changed companies and it was disappointing to see the new pricing. You need to pay $20.00 for the appointment/down payment towards pictures. This year the cheapest package offered for purchase was $39.99. The Santa was great as always and the team members were nice. They did good on timing and we were in and out in a timely manner. My kids liked the stuffed animals they got as a gift from Santa. My biggest suggestion would be to bring back the one picture and/or digital option and have more affordable package options.

My son enjoyed the Saturday morning concerts. Afterwards, we would go to Salt & Straw or Happy Lemon. We also liked going to Crate & Barrel and Barnes & Noble. There are different dining options. We've been to Choza and CPK. I can't wait until Fogo de Chao opens. I like Peet's Coffee, but I wished there was a local coffee shop. There is also an AMC. Tender Loving Empire has great items that are made by various local and small businesses. When we went to the Apple Store during the holidays, it seemed pretty busy. This shopping center offers different experiences if you plan to shop, dine, walk around, or attend an event.

Now that Lloyd Center Torrid closed, I have to go to the suburbs when I want to visit Torrid. Their…read morefashion is definitely geared to a younger demographic so there aren't many pieces that work for me. That being said, their black millennial stretch slacks rock! Not only are they incredibly comfortable, they are a true black and retain the color and shape no matter how many times you wash them. They have a good amount of stretch while still hanging nicely with a tailored fit, looser in the lower leg, with a comfortable waist. My only complaint is they need to lose the three hooks and replace with one snap or button. I have several pairs and they are my go to when I want to wear something a little dressier than jeans. Perfect for the office and they are fantastic for travel because they are lightweight, pack well, and don't wrinkle. This season they have a higher waist trouser version which I plan on buying. Torrid also has a lot of beautiful flowing dresses that are fitted in the waist and gently cascade over your hips. I'm a sucker for a good maxi dress and I have bought several. Their bathing suits are extremely supportive, well made and stylish. I've bought a few tankini tops and just love them. I swim laps for an hour every day and go through many suits a year because chlorine destroys them. The tankini top from Torrid has a modern geo pattern (not old lady patterns of ginormous flowers) with thicker material that holds its shape while holding in mine! The lace details at the chest give it a little sexy without being over the top. Gorgeous and wears beautifully. My only gripe is that I wish they did the standard sizing because it's just easier. They have adopted a 0-6 sizing which they say is easier. It's not! Every other store does 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, etc, and because their sizing is generous, it makes the translation challenging. More so when ordering online and you can't try it on. For me, I learned to translate their numbers to the standard and then go one size down. I'm not flattered by the illusion that I've gotten smaller! I could care less about the number, my focus is 100% on the fit regardless of size. This Torrid is conveniently located between a Lane Bryant, where I buy my bras, and Old Navy where I buy all of my compression leggings, so when I'm out this way, I stop in to see what the season brings. Torrid often has sales and I find the online sales are far better than what is in the store. But since I need to try things on and I refuse to pay shipping, I order online and have it shipped to the store for free. If I see something while I'm in in the store that I like, I always go to their website to see the online price, which is typically lower, and they will honor it. Staff is friendly and helpful. Store is clean and organized. Plenty of parking out front with other stores close by. Right off I-5 I now visit this store when I'm out in the Lake Oswego area.
