Stand out items were the lachera pancakes, ham and cheese omelette because of how flavorful it was, and the lamb Barbacoa. The drinks were fantastic, from the simple chocolate banana milkshake to cocktails lit on fire! Since we were there close to lunch, we also enjoyed their birria tacos and signature La Catrina meat and shrimp platter, both being delicious as well. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the mistake, and no attempt to take responsibility. Instead, we were seated at a table near the kitchen without any explanation or courtesy. The front desk staff member's attitude was unprofessional and dismissive. In hospitality, basic respect and accountability are expected. A simple apology would have gone a long way, but none was offered. The food was average at best. The only positive part of the evening was the gentleman who served us -- he was professional, attentive, and courteous. His service stood in sharp contrast to the unacceptable front desk experience. This was meant to be part of our Valentine's Day Eve celebration, and the mishandling of the reservation completely undermined the experience. For a dinner costing over $100, this level of service is unacceptable. Very disappointing experience. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this restaurant based on how reservations and guests are treated.
