My wife and like everything about this Mexican restaurant - great chips and salsa, delicious food choices, really great portions, tasty margaritas, friendly and quick service (the owner frequently stops by to check on things and to thank you for your patronage), interesting decore, comfortable and unique ambiance, plenty of parking, and very easy on the pocket book prices! 05/12/22 Met my wife for dinner tonight and we decided on a first visit here as we were "meeting in the middle" between Napoleon and Moncolva (yeah...sort of in the middle.) As always, I opened the Yelp app and decided that this restaurant looked the most promising. Pros: Immediate seating after multiple friendly greetings from employees. We sat on the deck and although it had been a warm day, the breeze was inviting. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the guac., the El Pastor (anything) as it is very, very authentic and exceeds the quality of many restaurants' efforts in the So Cal area and Baja, CA area. I ate 1/3 of my wife's dish!! [aughter] The tamales are also worthy of your trying. Moist masa surrounding just the right of amount of meat - highly recommend. Friendly and efficient wait staff. Cons: Had to request that the music speaker on the deck be turned down a bit - it was interfering with conversation. I cannot recommend the "high table" on the deck. Although the idea of making them out of old wood flat carts was nice - the wheels and the stands were real "knee bangers." I was disappointed in the Relleno and the ground beef taco. Both were misses in my opinion. Regardless - we will definitely be back. Try this place out. I think that you will be happy that you did. read more

Stopped while passing thru on I80. Excellent food and service for a great price! Grilled tilapia taco was awesome!

My family went out to eat here. Spent $100 just to throw it all away because my father got violently sick from food poisoning after eating here. It was disgusting and I will never recommend this place. read more

This building (formerly Barron's) has been extensively remodeled inside & out...and looks very nice. The parking area has been resurfaced. Very clean inside. Very friendly servers. Was somewhat surprised to see the place open on Memorial Day, but glad it was. No one at the door when I entered but was greeted promptly. I asked for a seat inside...told to wait one minute...then was seated near the front window. Salsa & chips delivered immediately...but no spoon. Good for dipping, bad for serving. I asked for a spoon and it was delivered quickly. Was given a menu and I asked for a marg on the rocks w/salt. I'm used to what Loma Linda/Ventura's has...and if you like those you won't like these. Not the worst I've ever had but weaker and too sweet, and also larger. Ordered 3 beef tacos hard shell. Like Cocina De Carlos in Waterville, the beef appears to be steamed not fried, and these were served with far too much white cheese. Tasted okay, just not what I'm used to. Also...by the time I got to the bottom of it the hard shell was almost falling apart because the meat was still infused with the liquid from the cooking process. The menu is very extensive and there are other items I'm anxious to try, but I may pass on anything with ground beef in it. read more

I shared this review on Facebook and wanted to add it to Yelp. We stopped in for the 1st time for lunch today. WOW! Friendly and welcoming staff, beautifully decorated, great background music, sparkling clean, and of course, the food. We tried the chips & salsa, the steak fajitas and the Burrito California. Large portions, delicious fresh food, reasonably priced. We had enough to take home for dinner and lunch tomorrow. If you haven't tried Old El Camino yet, put it on your list.
