No compassion, no, "what can we do to make it right?", just " we do no wrong". All those decades of great memories, down the toilet with my meal... Shame on them for their arrogance....beware.

My son turned 21 so what better place to celebrate than at a locally well known Mexican restaurant…read morethat's been around for years. We arrived early enough on a Saturday to beat the crowd and were seated promptly by our waitress Skyler. She was extremely attentive to our needs and saw that we had brought a cake with us. She offered to keep it in the restaurant cooler until after our dinner. Our drink orders were placed promptly and our waitress brought us chips and salsa. The drinks came out quick and my son really enjoyed his peach margarita and later a Pina colada . My draft beer was cold and came with a lime, just how I like it. We ordered the queso cheese dip and ended up ordering a second one as we liked it that much. My wife ordered a Cajun chicken chimichanga mini sized and my son and I ordered the Mikes southwestern bbq fajita chimichanga. All of our food came out fast, hot and fresh. The portions were large and we all enjoyed our dinners. After eating, our waitress brought out our cake along with a lighter for our candle. She and some of the other waitresses placed a sombrero on my son's head, gave him a fried Ice cream and sang happy birthday to him. He had a great birthday dinner. Kudos to Skyler our waitress. She was amazing! Ask to be seated in her area when you come here, you won't be disappointed.

This once was a go to for margaritas. The food is sub par…read more The waiter actually spoke English fluently but he was rude. My first skinny margarita was delicious. The next one came back sour. I shared half of it with my friend who agreed. We spoke to the waiter and he commented that all margaritas have lime in them. I added a bunch of sugar to the other half and it was ok. The thing is, shouldn't he have offered to replace it? He was arrogant enough to walk away from the table. We will not be returning. There are plenty of good Mexican restaurants where you don't have to wonder if your $13 cocktail is going to be good enough to actually drink. I wonder how many of those waiters and waitresses have green cards....

We went there for a small anniversary gathering a few weeks ago. I ordered the queso bean dip…read moreappetizer. I was very disappointed in this menu item as it was so watered down/thin texture that the dip would not even stay on the chips. That, and the fact that there are no small plates passed out with the appetizer to share, trying to dip a chip and get it to my mouth without all of the dip ending up on the table was not possible. I just think for the price of a can of beans and a container of queso dip there is no need to thin the consistency out to make a bigger profit at the expense of the customer.

3.5-ish For starters, the name of this restaurant (according…read moreto its own sign) is Taqueria Carnales, not Carnales Taqueria (as listed on Yelp). Anyway, this is a place for people who enjoy highly flavored and spicy food. Seriously, ask them to go easy on the jalapenos if you aren't up for spicy. I ordered everything as is for my first visit for takeout and enjoyed it but it was on the edge of too spicy for me, (chicken grande burrito) without actually crossing the line.Very much crossed the line with the shrimp tacos, imo. I ordered the following: Menudo Soup (made from cow's stomach); Shrimp Tacos and a Chicken Burrito Grande. The estimated prep time was 15 minutes and the food was ready on time. It's a cute, small restaurant that is very clean. While you could choose to dine in, I didn't see anyone eating there and it appears that most of their business is carryout. Upon arriving home, I found that the Menudo Soup had spilled inside the plastic bag. Not too big a deal. The other entrees were packed in styrofoam containers. The burrito was wrapped in paper and foil. My mom had the Menudo Soup and said it was good. She had one of the three shrimp tacos and said it was okay but that she wouldn't crave them. The avocado slices looked very fresh. My mom loves spicy food but she commented that the soup and tacos were very spicy. As for my chicken burrito, it was unexpectedly spicy in a mostly good way. The burrito was stuffed with everything inside - guacamole, rice, chicken, refried beans (very little), cheese and jalapeno peppers. It was a delicious combo but I would have preferred the individual ingredients to be separate. The biggest problem, however, was that the foil wrap made it difficult to cut into the burrito without also cutting into the foil. I think it's more of a "me" issue that might not bother anyone else. Overall, I would order from this restaurant again. The quality is definitely way above Taco Bell, but it's not quite fast food even though it's next to a Subway. Also, I asked if their refried beans were made with lard and I was assured they were vegetarian. If I hadn't seen so many positive reviews on Yelp, I wouldn't have known to check out this spot, but would encourage you to try it too for high quality, authentic Mexican cuisine! EDIT/UPDATE: I tried one of the shrimp tacos that my mom left in the fridge. OMG, it was super spicy to the point of giving me hiccups. Plus, the spiciness seemed to come from a creamy cheese sauce added to the shrimp tacos after they were cooked. I can understand why my mom wouldn't crave them and I would never order them myself. Based on your personal preference for spiciness, let this give you an idea of the level of spiciness that could be added to your food unless you request your dish to be less spicy. Recommend with caveat re spiciness.

We got a carafe of the Barrons Margarita and our server nicely let us pick which rim we wanted (plain, salt, sugar, tajin). In total, we each got about 2 margaritas each since the carafe doesn't have ice in it. For food, we started with their complimentary chips and salsa which was perfectly mild. My friend ordered the Carnita Street Tacos. I liked that you could order whatever quantity you wanted rather than needing to get a meal. My husband and I shared the Quesadilla Loca with ground beef. It came with two side options so we got Fried Plantains and Refried Beans. The portion was huge and came with their queso to enjoy with your meal. Everything was absolutely delicious and I would come back in a heartbeat to enjoy more! Tip: Lupitas is within the Dora Cup area so feel free to stop in and grab a drink to go!
