Natasha Tsozik was such a wonderful artist to work with. Her interpretation of what I wanted was amazing and allows some room for growth in the future. This is also the best healed tattoo I have ever received which I think speaks to her talent. The tiny details are so clean! Can't wait to work with her in the future. read more

Such a great experience at Old Crow. I was fortunate enough to work with Natasha, whose intricate line work is just phenomenal. She was incredibly patient working with me to perfect the design that I had envisioned, and I was happier with the end result than I could've imagined. I highly recommend her, and the other artists in the shop while I was there were also working on mind-blowing tattoos... This place is bursting at the seams with talent and beauty! read more

I got my tattoo done with Natasha Tsozik after admiring some of her work on instagram/ her blog. I had such a great experience from start to finish and can't recommend her enough. I had some pretty abstract ideas for what I wanted my tattoo to look like, what meanings I wanted to make sure to include in the design, etc. We met over zoom to discuss, then Natasha created the most beautiful floral armband for me, sent me the initial sketch via email, and listened to all my feedback before sending me the final design. I also told her my max budget, and she made sure to keep the design doable given the amount of time it would take. The tattoo parlor itself was extremely clean and COVID- cautious. Natasha was friendly and warm, instantly put me at ease, and so lovely to chat to. I had a last minute change that I wanted to make after she started tattooing me and felt nervous to bring it up. She was so sweet, said it was no problem, reassured me that speaking up was good, and easily adjusted things. I'm so so happy with how my tattoo turned out and will definitely be returning to get a tattoo done by Natasha. She's such a talented artist, listened so carefully to all my ideas, and created something more beautiful than I could have even imagined :) read more

I have done a couple of sessions with Natahsa Tsozik, and I can't wait to see her again soon. Natasha is so thoughtful, detail oriented, and an overall amazing human to know. PHILIP MILIC! if you haven't already seen his work you must be blind. insta: @pmtattoos I could write an essay on how talented and charismatic this dude is, but I know you won't read it all and you have to pick up what I'm puttin down or else your life won't be complete. This wasn't my first tattoo experience but it was BY FAR the best. Our session was scheduled from 2-6, but they called a week prior and told me he wanted to talk a little first to get more of an idea - so we met at 12 pm... and ended up finishing at 1 AM. I'm no artist and I had no idea my vision would take as long as it did, but Philip was so genuinely happy to be at his shop, tattooing the same fidgety person throughout his Saturday night, that he agreed to do it. We met for about five minutes, I said almost three words, showed him one picture of a prior piece he did that I loved, and he told me to come back in about two hours and he would have the sketch done. I walked around the beautiful lake that's right across the street, and when I came back he had EXACTLY what I wanted down on paper. I didn't have to change a single thing about it. The tattoo that Philip did for me has an insane amount of straight lines and symmetry, which is what he's respectfully known for in the Bay Area. He placed and replaced one of the stencils on me, had me seen by all of the other artists for their opinion, and measured with rulers just so everything would be completely symmetrical. These pieces are on the back of both my thighs, which is an extremely sensitive and difficult area to tattoo (or so I tell myself); I also have zero pain tolerance nor control of my reflexes.. So my legs were twitching like crazy and making it impossible for him to draw a straight line. He did both the outlines really quickly and told me he would use numbing gel to do the rest of the tattoo and as soon as he put the gel on I felt no pain. I don't know why every artist doesn't use this, but I should have asked him what that shit was cause damn. He did the first leg for what felt like 2/3rds of the time, and the second went by so fast I didn't even have time to twitch (LOL JK). But really, he took such a long time on the first leg making sure everything was completely perfect and said that when he did the second, it was so much quicker because he already had the muscle memory from the first one... That beautiful genius. Mind you the session started from around 4 PM and went until 1 AM, and I am a person of no pain tolerance nor patience. I felt so badly for taking his Saturday night (he initially wanted to be done by 6 PM), but he kept reassuring me that he'd rather be here tattooing than anywhere else. Philip is so eccentric with such a positive attitude, and he talked to me the entire time for distraction (he asked if I minded and of course I didn't, he's so insightful!), even if though I was being a total brat. His shop that he's created gave me the best tattoo experience I could of asked for. The beautiful decor, amazing eye for detail, and super clean and safe setting create an ambiance that I already want to return to, and I left a mere 15 hours ago. My tattoos are my new favorite thing about my body and I'm so grateful that I saw him and get to wear this art for the rest of my life. Even though it was in the most painful/sensitive area I've had tattooed, I had the best experience and overall outcome with Philip that I could have ever imagined. Not to mention he gave me an AMAZING PRICE for his time and work, which I felt could have been doubled for what he did for me. I'll be back real soon Old Crow! read more

Old Crow is an amazing tattoo shop. Along with great tattoos, they provide you with refreshments and snacks. The staff is great, the guest artists are great, they're all knowledgeable and very nice. This is my second time coming here and both times I've left very happy with the results of my tattoos. I've gotten both of my tattoos done by La French Sarah, she's awesome! I came here with my boyfriend so he could get a tattoo done. This place is very clean, and the staff is very friendly. The art gallery displayed in front is very imaginative and demonstrates many unique talents. My boyfriend's tattoo is a work in progress, which requires a tattoo artist that is both experienced and detailed, with a creative mindset. He went to Siri (pronounced 'sear-i) to brainstorm ideas to best put into a tattoo that is going on his right shoulder . She is creating the most inventive, inspiring ideas that just blew both our minds. I sat watching her work, and I was very impressed with her demeanor. She is extremely talented, friendly and professional, and I recommend her to everyone who wants good quality tattoo work!! The tattoo my boyfriend has is a work of art in-progress. What Siri has come up with is nothing short of pure talent. She is truly gifted. If you are picky with who you get your tattoos from (as you should be, you are dealing with needles), and want quality work, this is the place to go!! Ask for Siri! read more

I got a tattoo from Natasha Tsozik in March 2022 and couldn't be happier! She was great and I absolutely love my tattoo.

I found Old Crow through Instagram and very quickly fell in love with the style of Natasha Tsozik. This was my first tattoo but having tattoos is something I've wanted for a long time. She is amazing, kind, and walked me through everything down to the detail so I was well-informed. She tattoos like a gentle dove and I will absolutely be having more art done by her. We had our tattoo done by Natasha Tsozik. She was patient, kind, and an amazing collaborator. My partner and I weren't sure exactly what we wanted to get as this was my first tattoo but Natasha listened to our story and gave us so many great ideas. In the end we chose something simple that means a lot to us. During the process itself, Natasha was very kind and answered all our questions and concerns. The result was amazing: we absolutely love our tattoo and the care and elegance that Natasha put into it. We will definitely be back! Thank you to everyone at Old Crow and to Natasha especially. read more

A few years ago, I decided to get my first tattoo. I scheduled a consultation with Polina Cohen within a very short period of time. I had a simple idea for a piece on my shoulder. Polina had great suggestions for how to make the piece flow better with my body, which was very important to me. This also made the tattoo look significantly better. Polina gave sufficient and simple instructions on how to best prepare for the session, and we discussed the estimated cost ahead of time. During the session, although I was a bit nervous at first, I was eased due to the cleanliness of Old Crow and Polina's calming energy. The 4ish hours flew by due to the great environment of the shop. I followed the aftercare instructions meticulously, since this was going to be on me forever and be a representation of Polina's work. After three years, the tattoo has aged well and I went back to Old Crow for another tattoo (different artist - Kevin Ligabue) and the quality of service was again great. Definitely recommend this shop due to the high quality work from the artists and the environment. read more

My piece with Old Crow wrapped up a little while ago and I'm getting around to writing a review now. :) I initially came in with an unfinished back piece my friend had started for free. It wasn't going well (you get what you pay for) so I came to Old Crow looking for someone to finish up what we started, hoping to keep it in the same vein of what I had initially imagined this piece to be. I got connected with Stewart who was very frank with me that the design and craftsmanship of what I had was very poor, and what I initially wanted with my design could not be executed to look good. Cue sad trombone music. :/ He told me anything he added would make it better by default, but his recommendation was to go with a cover up. After several free consultations (very generous!), we came up with an entirely new piece, and figured out a design that was the right size to be a complete back piece and effective cover up. Stewart was incredibly patient, creative, and helpful in this process when I really had minimal ideas to offer him as he created something new. We arrived on a peregrine falcon sitting on a branch - a completely different visual from what my friend started, but something that could actually be executed as a good looking tattoo (unlike the original idea) and still kept some of the same emotions/sentiments of what I wanted to capture. Over the next almost two years, Stewart was awesome as we put this together session by session, basically going at my own pace based on what my budget could bear. He was so friendly, authentic, and chill throughout the whole process, and fine with my intermittent availability for sessions. The rest of the artists and staff were also so nice and remembered me and said hi when I would come in, and chat while Stewart was working. A real friendly and genuine vibe in the shop. Most importantly, the piece looks awesome! The cover up is not 100% done, as some more shading can be filled in on the feathers, but it looks great at is; not unfinished looking at all. Stewart has re-located from Oakland, and I have as well, which is mainly why the piece is on indefinite pause, but I'm still so happy with our finished product. If it gets filled in eventually, great - if not, still great. Never thought I'd end up with a full back/butt tattoo but here we are and it looks badass. I'm very happy with my whole experience and when I find myself back in the Bay, I will definitely come back to Old Crow for future tattooing endeavors. read more

The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. Artists are extremely talented. I would definitely come back.

We caught wind that they were going to do a fundraiser for Nepal - $100, walk-in, palm-sized, traditional - so Kelle K and I jumped at the opportunity. I got there super early just in case there were lots of people, and I was first in line. Once they opened up the super friendly folks there were quick to get everyone sorted out and signed up. I got hooked up with Stewart for my tattoo, and he did an excellent job with it. I'll definitely be back for more the next time I'm feeling I need some ink therapy. read more

This is a high-end shop with really amazing artists... The work doesn't come cheap but is worth every penny. If you want a shop with a bunch of wall panels of prefabbed art for your next drunk tat, keep on movin' - this ain't what you're looking for. But if you want a kick-@$$ custom done by a real artist, this is definitely your spot. Miah did my most recent tat, and hit the ball way out of the park. I waited a month or so for an appointment with him (well worth it-this one was hella important to me to get just right) but according to him there are also some younger/ less well-known artists in the shop who have a shorter wait time, if you've got an urgent need to scratch that itch to be inked. read more

My first tattoo and it won't be my last. Went there after sending Terry an email to see whether I can walk in to get a "P" tattooed on my wrist. No problem. Since it wasn't anything fancy or delicate, I didn't go in asking for a particular artist. But I did do my research and was very pleased with all the artists' work there. Went there on a late Thursday afternoon and Andre (artist) was there to help me out. I brought him the "P" in the font I wanted and he drew it out and added a bit of his own twist. The place is nice and spacious. I really like the fact that they are really about art and not about flipping through a bunch of folders to select your tattoo. They made my first experience quick, easy, and not intimidating. read more

I came in to see David Rodriguez to have some great line/dot work done. We originally chatted about a forearm piece but the night before our appointment I was struck with an idea. I arrived and laid my chicken scratch drawing down and explained to him each area. With zero hesitation or frustration with this shift in plans we walked straight to the mirror and he drew it on piece by piece consulting me for each tiny detail. It was unreal how thorough and kind he was. He was meticulous with his artistry and created a stunning piece for me that I cherish. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience. The other staff were great, I love the shop and they play great music! Thank you Dave, it was a pleasure! Update, I came in for a second tattoo, this time a custom design from Sean Gillespie. Not only to he listen to my ideas wonderfully, but also he created the piece more beautifully than I could imagine. He's incredibly talented, but also a wonderful person to spend time with. I cherish this art piece and how it truly came to life. His placement was perfect on the first try. Thank you Sean! read more

Wish I could say I had a great experience at this establishment. I schedule an appointment for March 12, 13 with Polina. I arrive at 11am, Before I filled out the consent form I was asked if I had a vaccine card or a negative covid test. I had neither as Polina never let me know ahead of time. Although rare, you can develop myocarditis from the covid vaccine. Which is why I've chosen not to take it as I had it when I was much younger but thankfully made a full recovery. Anyways her excuse was that she sent me the Location of the tattoo shop and that I should of gone on their website. Which I don't agree with as you can't expect everyone to visit the website, especially since I found her through Instagram and not the website. Her telling me the name of the tattoo shop is simply telling me the location. I even have text messages of me asking her two days before the appointment about the "necessary prep" so that I can have everything ready. She didn't mention anything about covid. All she told me was "Please no alcohol tonight, no coffee tomorrow". So I end up doing a rapid test which comes out negative and I have a picture to prove it. I then do the consent form which I have a copy of. Next Polina and I are talking about the tattoo itself, she is working on an iPad and coming up with really good ideas. Then for some reason she walks back to the front desk while nodding her head. Which made me think something was off. She then comes back and tells me she's not doing the tattoo. When I ask her why, she says something along the lines of "what I said about the covid situation was rude and unfair that I said it was her fault and that it was really bugging her". She also mentioned that she wasn't feeling a "good connection". I proceeded to let her know I didn't mean it in a rude was nor was I trying to offend her. I never even said it was her fault. I was simply explaining the reasoning on why I didn't show up with a negative covid test. I even explained to her that I have some fault since I didn't directly ask about any covid stuff. She still insists that she has chosen to not do the tattoo. I was confused as I can't understand why someone would be so offended. I apologized again and told her that I was sorry if she felt offended and told her to have a nice day anyway. I'm still disappointed as this was going to be my first tattoo. Not to mention I don't live in Oakland and had to drive nearly 2 hours to get there. The appointment was made 3 months ago and I also missed two days of work since she told me it was a two day project. So I actually lost money. I did receive my deposit back but nonetheless what happened was highly unprofessional and unacceptable. read more

It's hard to know if my issues are with the tattoo shop directly, or Laura Taylor, the tattoo artist. Either way, my experience has been awful. I had a consult in Oct 2021, paid a deposit and scheduled 3 appointments in March, April and May. My first appointment had the location and time change on me three times and ended up being at a different shop. Then Old Crow reached out to me to let me know there's been a scheduling error and they cannot take me on my scheduled dates. For a month and a half I have been emailing them over and over trying to get my appointment rescheduled. Half the time my emails are ignored and I have to keep following up. They've overscheduled themselves so much that they cannot fit me in until October 2022, but will not actually schedule that far out in advance. Finally after a month and a half of getting nowhere I got so frustrated I asked for my deposit back. Two people, one of whom was the tattoo artist herself, agreed to give me the deposit back after lecturing me about how disappointed they are that I'm making this decision, without any acknowledgement of my frustration or their failure. Several days later I get another note that says "we regret to inform you we will not give you your deposit back because you signed a paper stating deposits are non-refundable". I paid my deposit in good faith that the shop and the artist would uphold their end of the contract. I do not recommend working with Laura, unless you add something to the contract that binds her to keeping appointments with you. The entire situation is extremely unprofessional and such a let down after the great tattoo experiences I've had elsewhere and with other artists. read more

Unfortunately, I never got in to see my artist. Everything was fine at the consultation. I paid the deposit, put a date on the schedule. I walked into the shop on my tattoo date and they got the date wrong by a MONTH. For me, it's more than just an inconvenience. I had to take time off of work because I have a physical job and can't work with fresh ink. He offered a discount for the mistake, but the lack of professionalism put me off too much. I emailed him hoping to get partial return on the deposit, but he never even responded. Super disappointing. UPDATE: The manager messaged me and told me they would get my deposit back if I named the artist and gave my contact info. After a week or so of no response, I followed up and she simply said that they would not be able to refund the deposit. No explanation. Yay! Double disappointed! read more

I never had a tattoo before but one day I had an occasion to get one. It was pretty emotional for me and I wanted to be sure it was handled correctly so I remembered Natasha Tsozik. I first came across her work at an artist gallery event in the Castro a couple years ago and added her on Instagram and she felt like someone I could entrust with something like this. I reached out and she was awesome. She was very clear about what would happen and how. We had a zoom consult and I made an appointment and a few days before it happened she sent me her sketch and I gave feedback. I arrived the day of the appointment to the studio and it was super nice and clean. Lots of safety procedures - they had me go wash thoroughly and then fill out a detailed questionnaire on an iPad. Natasha explained everything as we went and made sure I was completely satisfied with the size and placement before anything permanent happened. The tattoo itself didn't hurt at all. It was small but I always imagined it would hurt some. The aftercare was easy and everything was perfect. It feels like this tattoo is a natural part of me. I had a fantastic experience working with Natasha Tsozik. I contacted her after having seen her work on her website, which showed the sorts of botanical drawings I was interested in. Natasha's process and communication were completely clear throughout. She was super personable and helpful during our Zoom consultation, and did a great job listening and transforming my ideas into a sketch before I went into the shop. My piece included some dense/intricate parts, so it took about 7 hours overall on the day (including setup, breaks, etc. -- maybe 5 hours actively tattooing?), and she was great throughout the whole day. A couple times I needed to stop for a quick break and she was totally cool and patient about it. I felt really well taken care of. She was also clearly excited about her design, which is always a great thing to perceive from the artist who is working with you! So this is in regard to my experience with Bryan Proteau for what I consider my first official tattoo. I came in for a quick consultation and ended up just generally explaining roughly what I wanted. He was really nice and professional and if I'm being honest, I was kind of scared he didn't understand exactly what I wanted because he seemed very nonchalant about it and didn't have any questions. I did email him about color work to see if he was able to do it and he honestly told me that wasn't his forte which I totally understood and appreciated the honesty. So I ended up just asking if it was possible to add a small dot of color on the eyes of the raven and he was more than happy to help with that. Fast forward to the reveal of the rough sketch of the tattoo and it was like a truck hit me. I fell absolutely in love and was so speechless. My boyfriend was there at the time and had to hug me to keep me from crying my eyes out. The tattoos significance meant a lot to me and he was able to perfectly draw out what I wanted and even exceed what I dreamed about. It turned out absolutely beautiful and I got so many compliments on the detail from friends and family too. I got to see others getting ink done and every artist there is super talented and professional. I will definitely be coming back soon to continue adding to this sleeve. read more
