The older man then began scolding the young man, loudly, as I could hear him over the sounds of the deli and store traffic. He was scolding him for not telling him that he had gone on lunch? I understand maybe telling him once and to not do it again, but the older man kept on and on about it. It made me feel very uncomfortable and the girl preparing my order clearly looked uncomfortable as she kept looking back at what was going on. Very unprofessional. At check out, there were very long lines. Self serve was maybe 15 people long and normal lanes about 6 people. When it was my turn at the normal lane, the cashier looked visibly frustrated and speaking under her breath about someone coming to help. She said something like "now they help when the line died down". Also unprofessional. I'm in a beautiful city, doing what I love doing (camping), and I have this ugly and awkward experience. Employees acting this way in front of customers demonstrates what a toxic workplace environment looks like and I won't be giving them my business in the foreseeable future.
